A garment of a certain religion has caused so many problems. Is t it a little ridiculous how we humans operate? Does not matter what religion, just the basic facts that a scarf can create, such division and irritation. We ca t stand each other, be it because of a religious "choice" or protocol affiliation, or a choice of food and even a garment. Maybe this decline is a natural course of human decay and renewal. All of this seen not only in Olympic games, but in everyday life in the media we all watch, whatever channel you watch or channel you subscribe to.

The best part of the Paris Olympics for me was 1) turning it off 2) when it was mercifully over. Lowest rated Olympics in history. NOBODY watched that crap. The families and friends of the athletes maybe.
Sports, like music, like art represent ourselves as human beings.. "all men are created equal", sport is in essence unifying humanity.. . It should not be (ab-)used for excluding human beings of certain countries, for promoting special interests of whoever would like to promote his own group's interests. Sports should bring all of us together - by doing sports! For humanity, for peace!
I'm confused. Was the report saying that Imane Khelif is actually a "natural" born female but others were accusing her of being a formerly transgendered male (from birth). Or is Imane born male and is now transgendered? If she was born female and competing as a woman/female against other women/females - WTFFFFF is the issue? A lot of female/women athletes can have a "masculine" look but are actually women. If Imane is actually a transgender male to "female" than as a woman/female, I have a personal issue with that. The issue is no matter what a male trans to female does NOT make their masculine strength disappear or become "weaker". A trans male to female still has the physical strength/power of a man. Essentially female boxers are getting the crap beaten out of them by a person with the physical power of a man. I don't care what anyone's reasons for their choices are, the reality of our human biological and physical abilities doesn't go away with surgery, dress, heels and lipstick. Or vvs for females to male...
Khelif has been tested twice by two independent labs, and in both, he has been shown to have XY chromosomes. Apparently he was born with a condition that does not fully develop the testicles and stay inside, thus being misdiagnosed as female at birth. Later on the male characteristics such as the effects of testosterone are shown by adolescence where puberty kicks in. There is plenty of information already in the public domain. This whole thing is a fiasco, down to the massive misinformation campaign just to push an agenda.
She's cis-gender. As in she was born a woman and assigned female at birth. The reports of her being trans were false, and many publications subsequently issued retractions and apologies after the fact.
Now what will happen if a baseball player where to kill Jose Canseco, while Jose Canseco holds a Palestine flag and gets away with murder; then he hold the torch?
France, as a democracy, has decided democraticly to be a secular country, .. at school, in the administration, in official regards.. . This includes not only the hijab, but also the kippa, the crosses and other religious symbols.. . Like it or not, this decision of a democracy has advantages and disadvantages, of course, and we can freely discuss it, but at first we should have respect of this democratic decision.. ! Without this respect, we don' t respect democracy at all..
I totally agree. If you don't live in France, then you don't know what daily life is there. I think Americans have no right to impose any moral values on France. I am an American living in France.
Defending policy by virtue of it existing within a democracy or even by virtue of it being democratic is weak and says nothing of it's actual morality. You cannot defend it's existence itself, so you use the shield of democracy. Just because something is agreed upon by a majority does not make it correct or moral. To use an example all will understand: Hitler was democratically elected, was he and his movement only bad when it became undemocratic? So many laws have had the popular support of the people while simultaneously being unjust.
I think suppressing the right to express part of one's identity is undemocratic. What France is imposing here in the name of equality is highly questionable. It is because of such regulations that young women find themselves excluded from education. This policy of forced assimilation displeases me to no end.

ONCE AGAIN I will say that Khelif should specifically sue JK Rawling!!! Reach into them deep pockets for her irresponsible “transvestigating”!!! Meghan Kelley’s too while she’s at it!!!
J.K. Rowling should apologize to Khelif.
Bravo Shirren our Canadian Queen speaking truth to power and elevating sport
The best part of the Paris Olympics for me was
1) turning it off
2) when it was mercifully over.
Lowest rated Olympics in history. NOBODY watched that crap. The families and friends of the athletes maybe.
Sports, like music, like art represent ourselves as human beings.. "all men are created equal",
sport is in essence unifying humanity.. .
It should not be (ab-)used for excluding human beings of certain countries, for promoting special interests of whoever would like to promote his own group's interests.
Sports should bring all of us together - by doing sports!
For humanity, for peace!
Hurrah for Hijab victory!
One day you will be free ... please keep hope ... please for all of us for humanity ...
@tiwantiwaa
She was born a girl and raised as a girl.
She was born a female. People out of hate and racism are claiming she is male to have her disqualified. It’s rude and unfair.

I think the gymnastic judges really messed up. But where is your sympathy for Ana Barbousa
If the coach was 4 seconds too late, then the committee was minutes or hours late in their decision, which happened after the medal ceremony. Which makes more sense?
J.K. Rowling is a disgrace to the words "author" and "women" .
It was a sad day seeing official Olympic staff aggressively take a small piece of paper with the Taiwan island drawn on it while red flags lined the background.
Disgraceful.
No. It's following the rule that has been around for years.
Why Europeans stopped wearing The Hijab. Everyone should watch that video
they only love you when you live in a tent
👍👍👍😇
I believe people should be allowed to wear their spiritual clothing to avoid traumatizing them cuz that's something they grew up with but at the same time it's good for people to know about a TH-cam video where a woman wear a hijab and she still got stalked and sexually harassed so it doesn't really protect women from getting sexually assaulted so I don't agree that women should have to wear it because women's beauty is blamed on them for the reason they are abused but it's not women's fault they get abused it's the men's fault for having a low empathy there's lots of men out there that don't sexually assault women that do not wear a hijab and but I do feel that if a woman wants to wear a hijab to be more modest I think that's good but at the same time we were born naked I think there's nothing wrong with that as long as you're not doing it to show off vanity I think that's nothing wrong with that and it gets hot sometimes and I think a woman should be able to not have as many clothes on to cool off and but if a woman wants to wear a hijab during the Olympics I think that should be allowed cuz I think it's good that people educate people how their culture may be toxic to themselves and others especially sexist religions that have male hierarchy but it should never be forced people need to remember that they were taught to be like this from very little and it can be traumatizing for people to take away someone's culture even when people are taken away from a cult and they're trying to have a specialist reverse the brainwashing they do it in a special way that doesn't traumatize the person at the end it still has to be the person's choice you can't force change on somebody there are transgender Muslims in India they are very peaceful Muslims Gandhi was a very peaceful Muslim all different sorts of religions have done horrible things like Christianity does a lot of honor killings themselves I mean look how many domestic violence deaths are in America from Christian males who killed women and children mostly usually in their family Christian m a l e s do sexual crimes all the time in America look how many Christians invaded other people's countries and converted people through force and took their land away did genocide look how many Catholics kidnap Native American children and put them in orphanages and are these children died from abuse look how many countries America in Britain have taken over that weren't even attacking them first I think Americans can be very hypocritical I think we need more women support centers all around the world especially in America in the Middle East Mexico and any other country that has sexism in male hierarchy and most Muslim women do not like Taliban most of them like to go to work and go to school and there are some that protest Taliban and give their life to free themselves most Muslims are not extremists and are not terrorists
I think you have made a lot of good points, but it is rather hard to read without punctuation.
Who's bright idea was it to have the Olympics in Los Angeles? What a bad idea.
Just goes to show you even further how emulating the lifestyles prevalent in the blue zones matters even more. Just eat well and plant based and proper calories for the exercise you do.
I’m sorry moving homeless folks because a once in 100 years event! Come on the tax payers deserve to be heard they pay for all of this but of course no mention of that. Let’s hope LA does the same. Again the tax payers and citizens have rights also but no mention of that.
Thes Palestinians athletes. Are giving to. World a. Great 👍🏾 lection. All they won. Even. If didn’t. Got a. Medal. Good jobs guys.
Let’s check the DNA. If there’s a Y then The gold medal needs to be revoked
Sorry we don’t check athletes DNA- come on
And you don’t check voter registration either. I know there’s fraud going on because three months after my dad passed we got a ballot to mail back in After we notified them, he passed.
Two independent laboratories have conducted tests and both showed XY chromosomes for Khelif.
DNA is not the only factor that determines sex. Ever heard of Congenital Insensitivity to Androgen Syndrome CIAS or Congenital Adrenogenital Syndrome CAS? CIAS and CAS happen during fetal development. There are genetic disorders such as Klinefelder Syndrome XXY for example that complicate the sex of an individual. This is not high school biology.

France did not "ban hijab". We banned all ostentatious religious and political signs. In line with our national century-old law for any State representatives when on duty and the IOC charter actually. This phrase is fallacious.
That's why many athletes were wearing necklaces with crosses. It's because France banned all religious signs. Yes, of course.
Alors, vous croyez que nous sommes toutes et touts idiotes, n'est-ce pas?
@@marias2787 Ostentatious seems to be a word you don't undeestand the meaning of 😘
@@WSEDT-re6mn "Ostentatious" is a completely subjective word. A cross, to me, is ostentatious. A hijab is not. A Buddhist mala, to me, is not ostentatious. A Jewish kippah, to me, is. Different Rastafari symbols, to me, are not ostentatious. All Christian symbols, to me, are.
When banning religious symbols, it must apply to ALL symbols. Big, medium, small. ALL religions too. Otherwise it's not a ban, it's simply "We don't like hijabs, because we are islamophobic. So, we ban hijabs."
I hope you understand. I hope I was clear enough. I have explained it as if you were a 6 year old.
Au revoir. :-)
@@marias2787 There actually is a very clear definition in French State circulars of what we label ostentatious. Your 6 years old's "opinion" on it is irrelevant and the only interpretation that is "subjective" here. It's based on occupation-appropriate usage and size. She can wear a Fatma hand pendant, the same way a jew can wear a David star pendant and christians can wear a small cross pendant. That's it. 😘

Democracy Now should invite Sharron Davies to talk about fairness in sport and what the whole debate is about. Framing the debate about the boxing matches in relation to trans or race is disingenious at the least, and adds to misinformation that is fed by media that has not really pay attention to the sex-based rights feminists. The issue in sports is NOT about whether the boxer is trans but that these two boxers are male. It is about sex. The sports are segregated based on sex. Not gender. You are confusing sex and gender. And the reporter missed to mention that International Boxing Association did their usual tests and disqualified these boxes from attending in women boxing. Apparently, they have DSDs, disorders of sexual development. They were all 46XY 5-ard, a dsd that only affects males! Do your research, don't mislead the audience.

It is not about trans- women competing. It is about humans with a Y chromosome competing against other humans with a Y chromosome. If somenone without a Y chromosome is good enough they can obviously compete with the Y chromosome humans but there is a reason why this has never happend at the top level of sports.
