RIP TO THE UGANDAN MARATHON LEGEND REBECCA CHEPTEGEI!!! She ran in this race and finished in 44th place. Weeks later, typing this out as the news broke out that she passed away today September 5th 2024, after her demonic ex boyfriend set her on fire. Gone but you will not be forgotten!
Thats a fantastic visual effect over the final 100m or so of this race. The blue runway in the foreground and historical Architecture as back drop. Very beautiful camera angle👍
I know a lot about the history of Track and Field. On the men's side there are several every generation who know how to kick for success on the elite level of distance racing. On the women's side there are far fewer,. I can say in the marathon, I have never seen anyone with the confidence, patience and ability to wait and kick like this when everybody, including her competitors, knows what is coming.
Ethiopia filed a protest. Not The Netherlands. It was denied of course. They were pushing the envelope. As a professional referee, if I had let it go the first time, on further review Assefa is DQed.
@curlieeloks3032. I have noted that as well. These Ethiopian women are dirty, they push or try to block other athletes once they realize they are about to be beaten.
Tsegay as well in the 5k cutting into Faith and warranting a retaliatory push, very annoying. Just run, and if you lose then you lose. Next time, train harder than the athlete next to you.
The track and field association needs to look into the tactics of the Ethiopian female athletes and their habit of cutting off competitors, it was done in a 10 K race a while back. The Ethiopian female athlete drifted over into the lane of the Kenyan runner when she was about to pass Ethiopian runner.
@Amoz1957 Yes I have noted that as well. These Ethiopian women are dirty, once they realize that their competitors are about to beat them, they intentionally try and block them.
Why none is talking about the winner's poorest behaviour @0:46. True demonstration of a non-friendly gesture. I am not sure why people are going ON and ON praising this lady where she does things like this Every,. Single.Time!! African Runners are always humble in their victories, demonstrating their simplicity and humility. Not Arrogance as how this woman projects, in pretty much all her races!!
Has anyone noted how Ethiopian women runners are so dirty, that Ethiopian runner tried to block Sifan Hassan of Netherlands, once they realize their competitors are about to beat them, they attempt to block them like in the case of Faith Kipyegon of kenya in 5000M women final and also during the world championship in Portland Oregon an Ethiopian runner Guday tried blocking Helen Obiri of Kenya during 5000M Women final. They should be disqualified.
“Best athletes ever”, you have to include the category 😂. Kenya actually dominates these marathons in both the Olympics and world championships, Ethiopia dominates more in the 10 and 5k track events
Some angry men are trying to blame Hassan. Don't blame her. Blame the stupid finish track design. Anyway, Hassan was without a doubt the fastest at the finish.
Because it was The Netherlands where she was given asylum and all the oppportunitis to train and become the athlete that she is now. She shows her gratefulness by running for The Netherlands.
These runners have my respect. Track is so hard. Marathon is a killer. Two and half hours of a body being tested to it's limit. Remarkable!!!
Hassan always gives 101% in every race. This girl deserves her gold.
I watched this live.. this was one of the best running races i've ever seen !!
Please upload the full event. We are all waiting.
I‘d like to see a full movie of the woman’s marathon.
Congratulations Saifan Hasan, from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

And a real female athlete.
So happy again when I see you always with medals 🥇 🎖 🏅 .greetings from Iraq.
Simply the best. And that smile as wide as her talent and guts.
You mean his.
@TrpleAgnt2011 No, I meant her. What's your problem - mysogeny or racism?

All that pushing to not win is crazyyy. Happy for Hassan🎉
Gracias Sifán desde Colombia te quiero y te admiro...
Congrutulations 🎉❤sifan 😊from INDIA ❤ ...
no mention of the very un-sportsmanlike shoving at 0:46, what a poor example for the running community worldwide
Exactly like why was it not addressed
Ikr what bad sportsmanship
The Ethiopian women are dirty.
The track's design was so bad. Don't blame Hassan.
@@HenriLaporte-kv6qq Not Hassan, it's clear the other lady trying to block her from passing
A remarkable woman. A remarkable achievement. Excellent.
Simply incredible, I don't know how many more years another 'hassan' will be born
Incredible range from 800m to Marathon

maybe 50 years
What a way to finish marathon.congradulations.
How should we call it what happened at 0:45?
And are we proud of her! You bet we are! She is magnificent.
Assefa duwde Hassan bewust opzij. En dan later klagen. Geweldige wedstrijd en mooi commentaar. Top 😀
Can you post the whole race?
We need the full race please
Feels like an F1 race with all the defense
😂
When is the full video for this coming out.
3:27 i miss that music 😢😢
One of the toughest athletes ever
I’m sorry , they need to ban the ones who push the other athletes purposely ... why wasn’t this behavior addressed !? Congrats to Hassan !
They need to ban men from women's events too.
Why do Ethiopian athletes always try to elbow their competitors? It was so obvious that Assefa tried to elbow Sifan.
Tsegay as well in the 5k cutting into Faith and warranting a retaliatory push, very annoying. Just run, and if you lose then you lose. Next time, train harder than the athlete next to you.

It is b/c they are not weak like your country's athlets MFs...
The thumbnail is clear evidence too
@Amoz1957 Yes I have noted that as well. These Ethiopian women are dirty, once they realize that their competitors are about to beat them, they intentionally try and block them.
Sifan won women marathon and Faith got her 3rd 1500m gold made Paris olympics always on people's lips.
Add to that McLaughlin, to cut 0.28 of her own world record at the 400mH .
Assefa should have been DQd for that obvious elbow
when you play against the machine in a racing game 0:42
Congratulations to all the runners!
Masyallah congrats sifan
0:46 that was a cheap move by ASSEFA
Very true. These Ethiopian women are dirty. Remember another cheap move by Guday involving Faith kipyegon during 5000M women? Watch that video
The track's design was so bad. Don't blame Hassan.
That was a dirty move by Assefa

Yo Olympics peeps, could you please upload the whole marathon already?

0:06 that was a weird running..
can we get the full race
I really hate how we cant watch it anywhere even on olympics website it only says error, while the mens are uploaded on yt
What is km
Km is kilometres

🎉congratulations🎉😊❤🏅
Unforgettable memories .
Sifan wearing a hijab in protest of France's hijab ban while accepting an award in Paris.
Ethiopia has the best athletes ever. We got to admit 🤞
They always comment about the pushing and pulling thing... when we have thousands of victories to talk about!!!
“Best athletes ever”, you have to include the category 😂. Kenya actually dominates these marathons in both the Olympics and world championships, Ethiopia dominates more in the 10 and 5k track events

😊 wow..🎉
The Ethiopian tried to cut her off and not let her pass. Bad sportsmanship!
Really bad. These Ethiopian women are dirty.
They always use those dirty tactics
Karen with her malice intentions tried her best but didn't prevail.
We need full video bites!
Thanks partially, will still wait for the full marathon..... Till than ..... Thank you
❤❤❤
Porque la atleta de Pays Bas tiene la cabeza cubierta?
ella es musulmana.
She is Muslim athlete, I proud Hasan
❤🎉🎉🎉
This isn’t fair Hassan pushed her boooo
she didn't, she pushed her because she didn't want hassan to pass and you can't do that
She sure looks Dutch. Head scarf and all.
Well , my grandmother used to wear dutch lace bonnet head covering.
Why she don't run for Saudi Arabia.
Because she was born in Ethiopy.
Sudan near. Lot of fighting also.
@abrahamkaria4545 Why didn't you run for Saudi Arabia fool? This is a racist comment you bigot.
Because it was The Netherlands where she was given asylum and all the oppportunitis to train and become the athlete that she is now. She shows her gratefulness by running for The Netherlands.
I am dutch...but this is not gold for the netherlands but for her country. We don't want this medal......
We don’t want it? You are speaking behalve of all the Dutch? Don’t think so…
dogs are barking lions keep moving sifan
She is not run for you, she is run for his spirit, dedication, and her believe
