    My career has been in the death industry & there were answers to questions I've never thought about. I've only made deliveries & pick-ups at crematories with little to no time to ask questions. Through my experience, crematory operators have only checked toe tags against paperwork to confirm identities of decedents & would not disturb what's in receptacles in any way. The actual handling of remains inside the container has always been the duty of the mortician in CA which might be different in each State.

    Hello Kari, I would like to tell you that here in Ecuador, South America, where I work, we never cremated with a casket. We also do not use cardboard containers.
    We enter only the body with its clothes in the crematory.
    The same thing on the side of the Crematorium for the animals.
    It must be said that families who request the cremation of their deceased, they do not have to buy a casket, because we provide a temporary one to spend time with their deceased before the cremation. At this time of vigil, the deceased is prepared, dressed and as soon as the vigil is over, we transport the coffin out of sight of the family to place the body on a platform ready to send into the crematorium, under the supervision of the family, if they wish.
    Thanks for sharing your amazing videos with us.

    Bodies do move during cremation. In the process,, they take on a pugilistic stance. Sinew burning causes this to happen. It happens in the beginning. Same happens when people are severely burned. No reason to immediately look in at the beginning. I guess that's why most haven't seen this happen. Love your channel Kari!

    Hello I watch you often and your other channel.as well. I've only commented a couple times though. So appreciate all you do.
    I have a question , maybe more for Josh
    Have you ever seen a body sit up when being cremated? Have you seen people be cremated with things like gof clubs, fishing poles?
    I know it's off the wall questions but I'm asking because I have watched another mortician channel Are You Dying To Know in the UK and they asked a coworker who does the cremation these questions a viewer sent in and the answers were YES!

    One our local funeral homes recently placed an ad on INDEED for a crematory operator with starting pay at $11.00 (eleven) per hour. I know the owner but rarely see him around anymore. I think his kids are running it. They also do animals and start out at $200.00. So much for a living wage. I think McDonald’s pays more that that here.

    • @wesley815
      @wesley815 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Do they use smaller retorts for pets? Both of my dogs were small and I requested that they be cremated by themselves and not in a “group”.

I was still sitting in the parking lot crying when the person came to pick up my last doggie at the emergency vet. • @sterlingodeaghaidh5086
      @sterlingodeaghaidh5086 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know about in some parts of the U.S as it varies by facility, but all facilities around me allow the family to watch the body go in and wait til the cemation is over. Also btw a better word would be Validator if you wanted one. But its hard to video anything in a funeral home because the processes like embalming, stuff like that can be seen as bad or improper to some. One story I can recall of a incident is a vet was laid out on a table for identification and a family member posted a picture of him laying with a flag draped across him. The general public attacked (metaphorically) the funeral home for mistreating a vet and was forced to put him in a casket even tho he was gonna be cremated. So I don't know many funeral homes who would be willing to allow that stuff to be filed just for the sake of the public misinterpreting stuff.

    WTH IS this about? Seriously, in America. What would it cost me to be cremated as opposed to the BS of burial? THUMBS DOWN @1:15?

    A body will move when it's cremated look at the video on youtube called my daddy's cremation and keep an eye on his left leg you will see it move up a couple of times he is just layed in a cardboard box not a coffin
