It’s funny to think back to my early days. My beginner bag was a Birdie, a Colt, a Dart, a champion Groove, a blizzard Katana, and a star Destroyer (cuz star wars).
Later editions / additions included the Judge, the Atlas, and blizzard Boss, and star Shryke.

@@TylerTiede the infamous Groove! I had that disc in my bag for a surprisingly long time until I lost it in a pond or something. I would honestly bag one again if it flew the same. Yes the callus on my index finger was like a turtle shell 😂 but it was mainly my side arm approach disc. Like zero turn, very predictable fade, and it would not skip, it would just dig straight into the earth and sit.
For beginners I would go for:
Putter: any base plastic putter
Approach: AviarX3, Zone, Tactic or Harp in premium plastic
Mid: Mako3, Buzzz SS/Meteor, Origin, Fuse or Truth in premium plastic
Fairway: Sidewinder/Valkyrie, Heat, Essence or Diamond in premium plastic
Then when you start developing some technique and arm speed and the mids and fairways become too understable, I would add Buzzz/Roc3, Firebird/Felon and Hades/DD1.

Super Soft Wizard for putter. Agree on Meteor and Valkyrie but also add an original Leopard (NOT 3) is a must
pro tip: buy premium plastic discs like champion and star plastic used, so you can buy 2 or 3 discs for the same money, and benefit from someone else putting in the time to beat the disc in. champion plastic is going to take months to beat in and unlock the disc's full potential. base line and putter plastics are fine to buy new since they are cheaper and beat in quickly.

Sure! I think star vs champ is largely preference. Except for high speed distance drivers-I think star is almost always better.
Usually it is preference. Champ leopards I’ve thrown have been fairly beefy. Which is odd. I can turn a heat beautifully.
Champion leopard and teebird for new players? I've owned 3 champ teebird and they all dump at about 220 for me. I can throw my gstar teebird on a low straight with slight fade line for 360.
Maybe it would be ok at a light weight. I just find champ plastic to turn everything into a meat hook.
that’s why I say start with a starter set or borrow from friends first. Then when you get the hang of it buy some nice plastic.
You can also go diving in your local course's pond and find yourself an entire set!
