While the queen's gambit is still hot you should do a gibson, the drink in that series
What if you used a mead instead of Irish Mist? Something bit more herby and still heavy on the honey? Dansk Mjød makes a ginger mead and you could always go Bunratty Mead for something powerful.
I feel like Misty would be something herbatious.
Despite all the glitches and barebones feel at times, I fucking love this game, I love the gameplay, the story, the style, the music, etc! Loved this video, and the outfit man!!!!
Ever considered "cheating" the density using xantan gum syrup for the base instead of simple? (or a mix, anyway something to thicken a little the bottom layer...)
There was an entire list of Cyberpunk drinks in the original Night City Sourcebook.
Including a drink that used frozen gin as an ice cube.
You could do a series on the more realistic ones.
We'll raise a glass of Jackie Welles, to the man himself. Here's to you, Jackie, the best choom a guy could have in Night City.
To this
Here's to you Jackie
We only know him for like, 20% of the game and it still hurt me when he died. I miss ya buddy...
To this.
To Jackie welles
I always thought "love" is just Ramune in this case. in Cyberpunk universe, one of the drinks advertised is "nicola" which has the slogan "taste the love". Jackie also does have some Nicola lying around in his garage, so he's definitely a drinker of the beverage. and the closest real-world equivalent of Nicola is probably Ramune(or Japanese cola drink). Rest in peace, Jackie, you are a true bro.
Thats a keen eye you got there,
Ok well now im gonna have to get some Ramune to make a cocktail with it. Didnt even think of Nicola as Ramune.
Good catch! Although rather than ramune, which is quite different to cola, maybe try some Japanese produced cola brands like Kirin's Mets Cola. I recommend Mets Cola Black in particular. Although in the presence of ginger beer any will struggle to come through.
I agree with Shane. Ramune is more of a candy-lemonade flavour. Not bitter like cola in the slightest imo
Pretty sure Nicola is a nicotine-cola I don't know if they have those in real life.
"What is a splash of love?"
... oh god, we're back to the Ketamine again.
KETAMINE PLEASE, I ACTUALLY CRIED OF LAUGHTER AFTER READING THIS
thought the splash was when you put the ice in and just give that hope of the drink being the perfect medicine for the consumer for any physical or spiritual problem they may be going through D:
at my house we love this drink so we use a dash of kinky pink

Love the idea that splash of love is something that Jackie loved which left the drink up to interpretation. Loved his bike, loved misty, his mom, and loved V too. He was a Valentino after all.
But he also loved tequila
yeah, very thoughtful
@Damien Paz I felt that Jackie wanted V to have the bike to carry on his journey so Jackie would always be with V though his journey in the big leagues
@@SSJ_Wyld That's the exact reason I used Jackie's bike as my main vehicle during the game.
No interpretation needed. It’s very obviously tequila
In fairness the Johnny silver hand is a tequila old fashioned with a splash of beer. So Jackie just tweaking a mule recipie seems in keeping with the format.
Yeah, the drinks are simple, but with a dash of personality in it.
One of the theories is that the drinks are more just secret menu items than their own drinks, so they're just variants
@@rheawelsh4142 Yeah. So far as it goes I'm pretty sure that they're just the preferred drink of the person they're named after.
Not really anything neccesarily new, just what they like.
And garnished with chili powder, don’t forget that bit!
@@rheawelsh4142 I'm pretty sure it was what they usually ordered. I say that because this was pretty much shown when Johnny took over V's body. Seriously, the first thing he did was order that drink, he didn't ask for the name, but the exact components without even needing to think.
Like how most people with a 'usual' do.
Now we need the *David Martinez* cocktail.
wanted to suggest this as well
isn´t that just Vodka and Coke??
@@GBZOholika81 Sure but the Johnny Silverman was just an old fashioned and beer. I'm sure Greg can find a way to improve it or put a spin on it.
I still find it incredibly ironic that David's drink has Nicola in it despite his dislike of fizzy drinks
@@jacktheripper7735 I already said it in a different video but by the end of the show David was drinking nothing but fizzy drinks, it being in his drink is symbolic of how he himself became what he hated in the end.
I almost feel like the first Jackie Welles is the one that always gets served at the bar for the regulars because it's loud and flavorful and hits you in the mouth with the sweet and spicy and everything else that went into it. Very reminiscent of Jackie Welles' publicly known personality. Whereas the Legendary variant is served to those that are in the know, or actually knew Jackie in life, and they want to reminisce and feel contemplative while they sip their drink. The first drink is one you can slug back if you're in a hurry or about to get into a bar fight, which is also very Jackie. The second one needs proper care to appreciate it and take in all the flavors and aromas (and maybe memories) it offers to the imbiber. The first drink is getting to know Jackie as an acquaintance, the second drink is getting to know Jackie as only a real friend can.
That was a beautiful explanation showing that even us Solos have depth of character that isn’t just “walk in with a heavy gun/shotgun”.
@@TheSawtoothNomad Everyone has depth, you just need to share more than one drink with them in order to see it.
That’s beautiful man. Thank you
man you gon make me cry
Fuck dude, you made me really happy, but also sad. I miss my boy Jackie.
“I’ve become an extreme lightweight..”
*Drinks an entire table full of whisky cocktails*
i love the idea of a Jackie Welles being different everywhere you order it because he leaves "a splash of love" up to the bartender.
With Misty having a Polish last name, an alternative to the Irish Mist that's more Polish could be Krupnik. Its a Polish spiced honey liqour.
CDPR is also Polish, so there's that if it means anything to ya
She wouldn't have let Jackie drink stoli either. Chopin or Belvedere. Just saying....

Nice.
Kinda just thought the splash of love was Jackie being cheeky and cute. I’ve never entertained the idea that it was supposed to translate to an ingredient. Love the idea of a kind of changeable ingredient based on the bartenders interpretation of “love”
Because it is not. Only white people overthink stuff. When Jackie said a splash of love it means what it is just love nothing else. Since Claire Russell is most likely hispanic she probably understood that spash of love is just a thought of love. Like when my mamasita makes home cooking she alway give her splash of love. The extra ingredienttent. Sometimes I don't understand why grengoes overthink stuff so much.
@@hectorcapistran2169 Calm down Pablo. Dude needed to make a video and he didnt want to make what is just a well known drink, that would be boring, so he improvised with the information he had to make something more unique. "That perfect beer, but now it's gone". - The beginning of many homebrewer's quest for that one recipe.
1:00 - Seamless transition and a face that tells you exactly what Greg thinks about TikTok trends 😅
The amount of game time we got with Jackie was disappointingly low. I think the montage should have been playable content with Jackie.
I feel like it was at one point. And it had to be scrapped.
the way they set it up, it feels like cut content
all of the prologue was basically scrapped. the first concepts we got for your "background story" so to speak were way different
It’d be cool if they made that DLC
I honestly lost interest after the prologue. I really wanted to play the "have your own cyberpunk adventure with your colorful Latino friend Jackie" game.
My boy Jackie gets his drink. I loved that man. My heart broke when I found out there was no saving him. I raise my glass to the best cyberpunk in Night City.
I heard him say "Oh, if I were to die tragically in the line of duty to get my own drink, I would like this recipe ...!" and was like "oh no .. OH NO"
I got spoiled but I still really felt a bit upset and found myself missing him because this game is very well written and voice acted and I’d say in 2023 it looks great so it is well executed
I wish that players who take extreme challenges like say, beat Konpeki without getting seen at all, leads to alternate outcomes, like Jackie survives if he doesn’t get any more hurt, or you get through it fast enough or something. Little bonus reward to the people who really work for it
All we need now is the David Martinez, and the trinity of cyberpunk drinks will be complete.
That poor Afterlife glass, knowing Greg it is going to have a glorious life but sadly cut short....
Like Jackie...
Flaming moe flashbacks rn
Too soon

@@AxxLAfriku what in the high flying fuck-
@@jimmyg7100 fr writing in this game is fantastic.
@@RjGoombes I just scratched my head at that one who knows what kinda trip he was on typing that lol
Honestly, if you were going for a representation of Misty and wanted to carry the honey over, why not use Krupnik (Polish Honey Liqueur)?
yoooooooo
I was about to go Google to see if there were Polish honey liqueurs because my mind went to the same place, so thanks for mentioning it so I didn’t have to haha!
Bear in mind that while Jackie may not be a bartender, his mother IS a bar owner. It's likely that he knows more than the average drinker what he's talking about.
'Misty is Irish Mist' sounds like a deep cut that he would make.
His mother didn't approve of Misty, though... so this is a case where Mama Welles would probably make it with grenadine for the love she had for her son, V would make sure that the Afterlife got it right with the Irish Mist for how much Jackie loved Misty... and the tequila base version is the version he would've made if he'd ever survived to strike it rich the way he wanted (because the whole point of that bottle of tequila he never opened was that it was a symbol of his hopes for becoming a legend; it would get opened when he could afford to drink that brand as a staple, not as an occasional indulgence). It's the Jackie Welles that could've been.
It wasn't that the brand was fancy, it was that it was a limited run of the first 100 bottles a particular tequila maker made.
“Oh man that collar looks great, let me check out- and it’s sold out. Damn.”
What about the Afterlife glass? I want one of those too! Guess I have to learn to mix drinks and impress CDPR.
@@maynardblaston6093 Well..he said it's basically just an oversized rocks glass with the Afterlife name etched in it..maybe find a place that does custom etching? I want the case it came in lol.
@@ShinKyuubi That case was the best part! Like finding loot and not knowing what was inside! I break too many glasses to actually own cool sh** anyways LoL
@@ShinKyuubi The way you put it doesn't sound very cool. If I got a gift like that I would be STOKED! I mean...Cyberpunk isn't that bad is it???
@@maynardblaston6093 On PC it's okay. If you're on console I don't think that even qualifies as a game lmao.
He did love Misty! I love that you interpreted her as honey.
; _;
Hearing Greg use the word romantic as in romanticized during a cyberpunk themed drink mixing video is my exact niche. This, right here, is my ideal content.
The splash of love is the enthusiasm you serve the drink with; in other words, a warm smile for the guest.
Forever respect for Jackie Wells. Let's hope in the eventual DLC we get to see more of him, even if it's just expanding on the memorial of the legend Jackie Wells
"Spoiler alert"
I mean is it really a spoiler when he dies in the trailer?
i didnt even watch that trailer and i knew he was going to die from the moment i met him
Its still sad ok
you mean spoiler - hyper
alert
It doesn't need to be a spoiler at all since he gives the recipe while alive. What happens after that doesn't change the fact that he gave the recipe while alive.
It is pretty epic that you made a drink based on one from a video game & the creators liked it so much they changed the game to put yours in its place.
did this actually happen or no

Lookin fresh to death in this one my guy
Fever Tree is also a pretty potent ginger beer. Picked some up at Costco once and it's definitely more of a mixer than something to drink straight.
Been using fever tree and a splash of patron tequila for love, very nice. Whole family enjoys it
You should totally do V's drink based the lifepath backgrounds & maybe endings (nomad, streetkid, corpo). It would be pretty interesting for sure.
For a try out's sake, here is my Nomad V's drink/cocktail (Estrella de Libre):
a bacardi mojito with cola + chili + a dash of "glitch in the matrix" (LOL)
I always thought a “splash of love” was nothing. More so the way the drink is made. To make his drink with love and passion. In fact, I’m almost certain that’s what it is
Here's to our sweet choom, Jackie. We'll miss the gonk.
i really LOVE hearing your in depth thought process behind creating these drinks, it really helps me get a deeper understanding of how different flavors work together :)
Well, TBF to Jackie, Johnny wasn’t a mixologist either and it seems like his drink was just what he was well known for ordering himself. The chili garnish was that little touch to make it feel more like him. In the same way the extra ‘love’ in the mule is Jackie’s own little twist.
I been waiting so long for you to make this video .. thank you 🙏 , Jackie wells is honestly my fav character in cyberpunk
Never been this early to a video of yours! I love your content and I adore your energy, man! You inspired me to start a small home bar during lockdown to stay active learning new skills and your channel has blessed me with amazing thematic drinks for sipping during my game-making endeavours! Keep up the good work!
Greg. Your editing was nice for this episode. Really loving the content. After watching you for the last year and a half I feel like you are a personal friend. Really enjoy your Twitch content too. Hope all is well.
Never had any problems with 2077, and it has always been a great game.
Now, with the latest updates, it's an even better one.
Thanks for making be want to start learning how to make drinks, and I've practically instantly started to love your channel
Jackie!! He stole the series for me. He is definitely my favorite character. Thank you for doing this one. 😀
Despite everything that happened. Loved the game man. Happy you did this.
I didn’t expect such depth to this drink, but you nailed it like always
You clean up nice man! Love the videos, always a refreshing mix
Given that lots of food is synthetic in Night City, this was so cool to see and hear about. Does Jackie justice and I’d love a take on some
of the other characters’ drinks given who lives and dies depending on your choices. Just a nice video and I’m jealous of your glass. 😊
Cheers to you, Jackie. A true Ride-or-Die Choom. 🥃
Ive never met a content creator who also plays cyberpunk red, I play it with my whole friends group, I love cyberpunk red so much, about to start watching your live stream
Goodness I've loved every video I've seen so far and the d&d flair is top tier
He always spills at least half of his measurements on the table but because it’s done with slowmo and flourish it still looks so professional and I love it 😅
I played and ate through the game. I really enjoyed the narrative and played through multiple times and multiple origin stories and enjoyed them all.
I gotta admit, everything going on up to Jackie dying and even during the Ofrenda, I absolutely was crying. Like, not even a little bit. It was really well written and really touching and genuinely had me in tears.
I goofed up and told them to take him to Viktor because I am not too bright
I'm actually really enjoying the game so far. 2nd playthrough. Definitely agree that the background choices should have had more impact throughout though. Loving the drinks and your silverhand episode is actually what got me into starting to pick up mixing drinks as a hobby and possibly a job skill. Thanks for the fun and keep them coming.
That ensemble really looks good on you! The matte black of the jacket plus the highlighting collar makes the color contrasts in your hair pop!
He literally... cracked the ICE.
Here's to you, Choom! See you in the big leagues Jackie.
I've just started watching your videos... And this was the drink I was about to post the Johnny video!! Awesome video! :)
Somehow, this episode didn't show up in my feed, so I also missed the bit about how you and your friends are playing Cyberpunk Red. I recently moved to Japan and am using some of my freetime to dive into 2077 months and months after I had pre-ordered it and I'll soon be tuning into your Red playlist. I AM MUCH EXCITED.
The drinks looks wicked, Greg! I love a good ginger beer cocktail (Dark & Stormy is a favourite), so this one is well appreciated, and then your homage was just so thoughtful! Santé!
Quick tip that I've learned from trying to make an extremely spicy ginger beer. What I've found to be the best way to really get a super spicy tasty ginger syrup is to boil then cool the syrup multiple times. It seems like every time you boil it, it gets a bit spicier.
I feel like the original Jackie is what Pepe at the Coyote would have made for him, but the Legendary is what Claire dreamt up. One is the public-facing, loud wiseass, the other is the layered guy who is just as willing to make a mandala for Misty as he is to empty two pistols in somebody's face.
I really like the pour footage, it’s very mesmerizing
ETA: I really enjoyed the song at the end
Hi. I am a CP2077 vet, and a big fan of Jackie. Thank you for taking Jacke's cocktail to the next level!
See you in the major leagues, Jack.
His passion for bartending is genuinely awesome to watch
I really like your takes on this and Johnny's drink. I tried a few of my own spins as well, but want to give your mixes a try too!
The Johnny silver hand drink has been my go to beer drink the last few months. Great stuff! Looking forward to making this too!
In a change of fashion it would be awesome you do the cocktail from “the lies of Locke Lamora” love to see your take on this.
“‘Conte, I do believe Master Fehrwight has just requested nothing less than a ginger scald.’
Conte moved adroitly to fill this request, first selecting a tall crystal wine flute, into which he poured two fingers of purest Camorri ginger oil, the color of scorched cinnamon. To this he added a sizable splash of milky pear brandy, followed by a transparent heavy liquor called ajento, which was actually a cooking wine flavored with radishes. When this cocktail was mixed, Conte wrapped a wet towel around the fingers of his left hand and reached for a covered brazier smoldering to the side of the liquor cabinet. He withdrew a slender metal rod, glowing orange-red at the tip, and plunged it into the cocktail; there was an audible hiss and a small puff of spicy steam. Once the rod was stanched, Conte stirred the drink briskly and precisely three times, then presented it to Locke on a thin silver tray.”
-The Lies of Locke Lamora, by Scott Lynch
Love that book series I have never met another person who had read it, I have based a couple of DnD characters off of Locke Lamora. The character I created has become so imfamous in my group that they shudder when i decide to re use the name
Scald makes me thing it is supposed to be kind of warm?
I'd summarized my Cyberpunk experience like this: I complained a lot during my 160+ hours playing.
that’s similar to how I feel about it. although, I can’t really complain too much. it ran decently well for me on PC. I didn’t have any wild graphics or glitches like i’ve seen some people have.
Try it again now, its on its way to being one of the greats.
@@rabbidjeremy9193truly, the few bugs I experienced made me laugh out loud and otherwise it is a masterpiece
Using the Irish "Misty" as the splash of love at the end...so damn perfect
See you in the big leagues Jackie! Made one of these last night with the boys and it was great! Especially loved the ginger beer personally
Theres a good video by Leandro from The Educated Barfly about the reverse dry Shake. He found it yielded a more voluminous foam but one of a poorer quality, especially when it came to doing a bitters garnish
To me splash of love is: RUM!!!
Though that Irish Mist stuff sounds yummy, and that first drink sounds amazing though need higher quantity for my taste.

Congrats on the sponsor, greg!! keep up the great work!
Please do some edge-runner cocktails, an elevated david, and maybe one for each of the crew (Maine, Dorio, Lucy, Rebecca, ect).
*snerk* A Chromed-Up David.
There's a beer called La Fin Du Mond, that might work. I've seen it fairly regularly, and if I recall, it's pretty strong and has something like the right flavor profile
Had it, it's pretty good.
I stopped playing after the first act so to speak but that was the best campaign opening I've ever played. The tower mission was just amazing. I'll try this game again in a few months and we'll see where we're at. Great episode, thanks!
I love ginger and that includes ginger bears. Cock and bull is one of my favorites I got really exited when you used it I would love to try this
I'd love to see your take on a 'V' cocktail, like what kind of drink would V have made in their honour? Of course, I'd expect street kid, nomad and corpo options :P
"Special Box"
*Seven scene pops up*
I see what you did there. Also really cool of CDPR to send you the box!
"What's in the boooox?!"
Playing the 2.0 update and enjoying my first Jakie Welles. The first version. I am loving it GREAT DRINK!
its defiently an interesting interplay between how, with what Jackie says, the bartender would probably put grenadine in, it would be an inside sort of reference for V and Jackie, that there was another version of the drink.
Had this at an outing with a few friends tonight, all in our CP gear. Was a fun drink, I went the legendary route and it was a really good easy drink. To Jackie, rest in piece choom.
The spoler alert at 2 minutes doesn't really happer when you said "someone else needs the Afterlife treatment and, spoiler alrt, it's Jackie" 😅
I appreciate the intent though, it's the thought that counts!
That is totally badass how they changed the in-game look of the drink in your honor and accuracy! Congrats on the immortalization of your work (and name) in a video game!!
I know I'm the outlier in that I had exactly one bug in my first playthru of the game. I'm not a fan of stat based chat selections since I feel that takes your ability to bluff or lie as a roleplay option.
I love how you made both his drinks, it's a lot of fun to see things like this brought to life.
Hey Greg! Theres a new Cyberpunk 2077 cocktail called the David Martinez. You should give it a look and do your thing!
This is *BRILLIANT*!
Jackie was my favorite character from that game, and I adore this for him. 😌💖✨
*Edit:* Also, we _beyond_ stan a man who understands the archaic usage of the word 'romantic'...just sayin' 😃😄👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This is a fantastic episode.
Game is amazing. Fine wine takes time. Thanks for making these drinks!
Hey, you spent more time on Jackie than the game did.
Damn... That stings.
Just like the bullets he took.
Jackie T-T I was so sad to see him go. Also yes, I would love more dialogue options that actually affect the way my character develops (I feel Bioware is pretty great in that regard, but it would be nice to see it develop more with CDProjectRED and in other games too, not necessarily the romance social aspect but the way that your actions can affect the game rather). I didn't get too many unbearable unplayable bugs in my game so far, just some graphics glitches and this epic guitar slide in as it builds graphics on this one dude who plays awesome (blues? can't remember the music now) music while reclining on a couch. I'm playing on a 2014 ACER gaming laptop. but nothing special. I do occasionally get a lag if I've been playing too long, or if my laptop has been on longer than a few hours prior to playing. However I've had days where I've played all night with no issues.
I drink maybe a couple beers a year if they are super good home brews, but DAMN do I enjoy watching you sling juice.
gonna brew my own ginger beer and that splash of love is that time and attention spent making it.
