"New Light" - How the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses Insults the Intelligence of Millions

  • Whether it's personal matters like sex and grooming or life altering doctrines like blood and organ transplants … or now their most comically embarrassing teaching on 'overlapping generations' leading back to 1914, the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses claim they can change the foundation of their 'religion' with the flick of a light switch. Lifting a sentence out of Proverbs chapter four, these guys claim they're 'God's mouthpiece' to mankind and the Almighty himself allows billions to believe in error until He decides to give 'new light' to those special fellas in upstate New York....consequences be damned! Let's take a look at what "new light" means to the common Jehovah's Witness.

This cult has gone so far away from what it was its unrecognizable. The thing is the rank and file get these changes over time and do not notice it because its a lot like the frog in the cooking pot.

I think it's because a few of their gb members are in the Freemason's who are in reality, luciferians. So the higher degrees up they go, the worse the teachings and judgements gets. 🤔

Their new light is simply refashioned old ideas to suit to coming generation. In that way the cult has always remained the same - they keep you waiting. So far their tactic has worked pretty well. But, hopefully more people will wise up and get the confidence they need to just walk away without suffering damage to their Christian faith, knowing neither Jehovah nor Jesus wrote the Watchtower.

We were definitely raised in a Secret Society with a lot of "Loaded Language" also known as "Word Speak"...
It was set up that way to make us feel so special in God's "one true" religion!
Many "outsiders" don't relate and that's why a lot of times it's hard to leave the organization and go into the real world because it's like you're living on another planet, but we will find our true identity which they tried to steal from us!
    Let's keep💪 fighting! 🙏💜

What a great episode, you do such a thorough and interesting analysis of the topic.
I associated with JWs for about 10 years. When I faded away in the mid-80’s, I wondered how this dooms-day-religion would handle the “End” not coming. I was so shocked to watch the Splane explanation of the overlapping generation. I felt so sorry for JW rank-and-file, especially for old-timers that may have realized that they were “duped”.
Also, prior to the Splane explanation, I read in Ray Franz’s book that the writing committee floated the idea of shifting the date of the beginning of the last days to the 1950’s, to coincide with the Sputnik launch (something about a passage in the Bible of celestial signs and wonders). It was rejected. But, that hit me like a ton of bricks. The realization that the staff at the Bethel writing department were engaging in religious “creative writing”.
I thank God that I escaped that deceptive cult!

Your videos are so thought provoking. Thanks for making them.
I agree with you that the JW religion will never go away and as you rightly said there are too many people in this world who would rather someone else do the thinking for them.
JWs will never get rid of the no blood doctrine for fear of the repercussions.
As one elder told me in my JC that if he sees something in the Bible that does not support a current teaching of the GB, he will patiently wait until the GB eventually agree with the Bible.
With such thinking you’ll come to the realization that a lot of the JWs are not students of the Bible but are men pleasers.

Hi, Surviving Paradise, and thanks for sharing your experience and the irrelevancy and contradictions of a lot of the GB and the WT's changing teachings over the years. Going back and forth from light to darkness and from darkness to light, and on and on, really makes a religion unworthy of trust. In fact, apart from cults, I have never seen such a ''religion'' before. I am currently a non-baptised publisher. I have been going back and forth too, in this organization for years, since 1992. When the pandemics started, I rushed in again, because I was in fear and I thought about the prophecies. Was I being stupid ? Or, simply reacting like a sincere Bible reader that I was, way long before knowing the JW's ?
But I must say that all these years, I have found so much ambiguity in the organization, in the doctrine, in the structures, in the behavior of JW's within the congregations. Their definition of ''christian love'' and the way they express it towards one another, is rather strange, plus, this ''love'' is conditionnal to what degree of obedience and zeal you show for participating in the meetings, preaching and studying the WT publications the way they tell you to. I have noticed, ( and I guess that you did too) that this ''love'' changes intensity and modify within weeks, days, hours and even minutes, if your presence or zeal in the congregation modifies. It's like watching an electricity or radio-activity detector that changes it's reading every seconds, depending on where, when and how, the flow of energy is showing ! Isn't it strange ?
But I wanted to know if, now that you are out of the JW's, do you still fully believe in God and the Bible ?

The problem with Watchtower is one of theology.
In the kingdom created by Watchtower, "Jehovah" is king.
In the Kingdom of God, Christ is King.
      The Father tells us this.
"Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion."
      Ps.2:6
How long has Christ been King?
"The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood,
And the LORD sits as King forever."
      Ps.29:10
How long will Christ be King?
"The LORD is King forever and ever."
      Ps.10:16
      Watchtower teaches "Jehovah" is king.
      Replacement theology.

JWs are heavily indoctrinated to believe the Watchtower Organization is their salvation!
The JW's believe everything the Governing Body ( "Anointed" Leaders ) says because they are captive of a concept.
They really believe they're in the only true religion on earth, and they're the only ones preaching a lifesaving work.
They believe they will see their dead love ones resurrected here on Earth.
Also they have the hope to live forever on a paradise Earth!
All of these things are very comforting to them.
The world in their mind is corrupt and controlled by satan the devil.. NOTHING is good in it!!
It's tough, but a JW has to experience his own "personal internal Armageddon"... meaning they will have to have some internal shake-up in their own mind and feelings about an issue.
Once this happens they will start to think critically and the veil over their eyes will slowly start to be removed.

If a person is going for the right reasons that is their business. Before that article a regular pioneer that made her hours attended all meetings etc was going to college to be a nurse for which she received stern council. A brother told me he was told by elders that he would be serving Satan by going to college. How do men interject themselves in personal lives and decisions of others. An I interesting irony is recently with bethel layoffs they let go of a young man that mopped floors while they were giving an office job to a young man that recently graduated college. One, Christ knows they are shunning you. Leave it in His hands. Two; remember...God claims to be Love. In a literal sense. Logic teaches us...there is NO LOVE in shunning. Therefore...logic dictates, God cannot be a part of this religion. There is no love in shunning. Christ claims to be Truth. There is no Truth in the JW's doctrine. Leave the cult...regardless of any shunning...and leave it in God's hands. HE knows what is happening...and wants YOU to escape from the JW's. God WANTS you to escape from false doctrine. Proverbs 4: 18 is harmonious with ALL OTHER SCRIPTURAL REFERENCES TO LIGHT AND DARK. it always refers to the contrast between wickedness; immorality and the righteous conduct of people. But remember this sidenote: The number of governing body members in 1979-81 when I served in Bethel, was 17. Then Chitty and R. Franz stepped down and it went to 15. Then over the years it has been a fluctuating number. In the last 6 months, I believe it's gone up to 10 baffoons, (I mean guys! I mean old farts!...oops!). Just so those who have never been JW's can get a more accurate picture.😂😁😄 Thanks for your light hearted, humorous manner in exposing this org's deceptions and misleading teachings. Predicted that lights comes from dark to lights,,and takes a whole night to see lights ,so what ?what about from Genesis to Revelation how many miles of darkness do separate to meet reel lights have you found it ,you should laugh at jourself ,you are entering yourself. In your. Own darkness and your ridicule laughter.

To stay off blood is a biblical requirement. No doubt.
You are taking blood you are taking many anclean things: before AIDS, now I don't know what..
Many people are obsses with blood, some don't want to have to have sth in common with always dirty blood. (This is my own opinion), but I know what I am saying. All the bible wouldn't be sa value obout our health without teaching about BLOOD.

I was JW for over 20 years. Never ever did I hear a JW say "new light". That term is very outdated and I've only heard it said by apostates. And if a PIMO uses it in company of JWs he will be outing himself. JWs, especially the elders, notice any change in a fellow worshipper's speech pattern.

You may be correct, but those in for decades continue to use it. "newer" JW's don't even study or read the Bible, so if they use the term, they're just repeating what they heard at a KH. Elders often use words like 'clarification' or 'adjustment in understanding'....but the literature is filled with 'new light' comments.

@@survivingparadisepodcast yeah, those other terms are more acceptable now. In my language the word "discreet" was changed to "prudent". If you didn't say "faithful and prudent slave" you were not keeping up with theocracy. Same thing with the expression "new system" vs "new world."
I don't mind the term "new light" but I fear for the waking JWs who pick it up from us and get themselves in trouble before they're ready.
