I always look forward to your presentation. I liked the P-Bass the most . The Jazz had a great sound also. The short scale was ok. I'm playing a short scale part of the time. At 69 I'm trending toward lighter weight Basses. Have a great holiday season.
Ellen it is beautiful I hear you play all the time with that being said the first base you played I think had an all-around quality that's passed all of them build the last one the Jazz one has a very distinct sound. The short fret I do not like at all. Because actually the base level was lower than the music accompanying it so it gave it an unfair advantage. I definitely would go with the first base though. My guess is there probably about $398 a piece
Ellen is starting to show the confidence of her talent, which is growing rapidly. Her runs are flawless and she's in the moment, so professional and at-ease. She is going to grow into an amazing woman and a hell of a bass player.
I think I like the Jazz Bass the most but I enjoyed watching Ellen play all three I also like to say thank you to hovak for sharing Ellen with us it's like having a niece that you get to watch grow up and become even greater thanks
I picked up a MarkBass Jazz Bass very recently strictly based on watching Ellen play one. Cost was $230 plus tax and I needed to buy a gig bag too. It was supposed to come with the bag but Guitar Center messed up (BOO, GC!!). It plays GREAT... Thx, Ellen!! 😀😀
Ellen’s talent is amazing. I could listen to her play all day. Nice sounding entry level basses, but I bet she could make 4 strings on a piece of plywood sound good. ❤❤❤
They all sounded great. But I wanna thank you for letting us watch Ellen grow. And by that I mean intelligent, skill and ability, she's becoming awesome musician and I love to hear Her play. And thank you Ellen for the beautiful music.
I cant really comment on the basses played only because I am not a musician and have no idea about that... But as someone that has been an avid music listener (especially jazz) over the last 50 years, I can speak to how well you are progressing talent wise... I have noticed just in the last year or so, how much more you have advanced technically and you are starting to make it look efforltess and you are a joy to watch. I have commented in previous videos that you are reminding me more and more of George Benson in the way you are singing the notes while playing them 4:03 ... this was always something I loved about his playing and to me it just means you are not playing the notes, but experieincing them on an internal level. (feeling the groove). Thank you for letting me be part of your musical journey... and thanks Hovak for guiding her with a tender and loving hand. Merry Christmas.
Ellen you are getting SO GOOD! Clean and right in the pocket on timing. Such a pleasure to watch you grow up, both as an adorable young lady and as a musician! Keep being you Miss Ellen!
Ellen, all three of those were like total precision. Every time I hear you I'm just more and more impressed. No doubt in my mind you're going to go far. ❤
I liked both of the P-bass and the Jazz over the short scale. My favourite sequence here just happened to be Ellen surprisingly playing a Weather Report classic on the Jazz bass. Damn, she plays stuff like that so effortless at that young age. God bless her little heart and happy holidays to everyone.
I like the tone of the P Bass, but the jazz bass is crisper with a little more edge. Both have their place and function. Ellen is awesome in both scenarios as demonstrated on this video.
I've always assumed I was a J bass kinda guy, but I love the attack on that P bass! If I did not already have a bass, this would be the one I pick up! Amazing playing! I have not seen your videos in a while (thanks, algorithm!), and your playing continues to develop! Beautiful performances, especially on one of my favorite songs, Birdland! Happy Holidays!
I don't know what's more beautiful about Ellen, her masterful bass playing or her masterful and extremely contagious smile. I see her smile and I automatically smile myself, hahaha May she never stop delighting us with her music and infecting us with her smile.
After several years of videos, I love watching you play, young lady! You just seem to go into zone so easily. And your face reflects your love for what you're doing. All the best to you and your dad every step of your journey.
Ellen. You've had it and you've got it. TALENT. Look forward to seeing your career evolve. You and your Papa Hovak are some of the good in this World of ours. From a fellow bass player.
Tough one. They all sounded incredible with Ellen playing. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day. Love you guys. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.
I think they all sounded great, but the PBass sounds amazing!! Thanks Hovak for sharing the talent of your amazing daughter Ellen!! Its so entertaining to watch her play!!👍👍❤️❤️😁😁
Besides her playing (which is amazing), is how poised and maturely this young lady carries herself. She’s going to be a star in whatever role she chooses to be in. Truly a beautiful soul.
I like the Jazz bass. Ellen, it's seems whether soft rock, heavy metal, pop, and jazz, you are on it and adapt really well. A jazz band will like you to play for them. So cool to see that you enjoy playing and doing your TH-cam posts. Team work with your dad makes it all work. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Ellen and Dad.
I don't want to be rude at all guys, I really love this channel and Ellen's talent of course... BUT, do not forget that we are in a professional studio with some professional studio recording equipment and a father who knows how to do it. So it might be possible for you, at home, in front of your practice amp, not having this sound quality either it's a $300 Mark Bass instrument or a Jaydee Supernatural at $5000 or more. Just always keep that in mind, always, on every TH-cam channel. I know some musicians around me that are very frustrated when they discover the real thing at home. Regards and we all love Ellen for his kindness.
I definitely dig the p bass! I love the deep cut sounds! But all I can say, is that Ellen is definitely going somewhere! Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us Ellen!!!
What a fantastic video, your playing is out of this world Ellen. Wow what a quality bass at a cheap price!!! Thanks so much. I love your version of Birdland, when you starting walking on the bass it made my day. Solid!!!
You did a fantastic job on all three. I always enjoy watching and listening to you play, as much as I love seeing that smile. That all said, I believe I enjoyed the Jazz Bass the most.
I was shopping for a J Bass and was zeroing in on the Sire Marcus Miller V3 J Bass or Squier J bass (I am a novice). I saw this video, and said to myself, "I have to check this MBJ bass out." I drove up tp Guitar Center in Detroit, and walked out with this bass. The feel, sound, workmanship is all solid. Happy with my purchase.
Thanks for the info guys 🙌👍 I have an Ibanez short scale bass, but I may have to take a trip to Guitar Center and check these out 😁 Tal Wilkenfeld USED TO BE my favorite female bassist, now it's Ellen Plays Bass, those were some serious licks you were playing and you nailed them, great job to you both. 👏🤙✌️
The best, to me was the P bass but all were very good Ellen's skills are massive and her talent is overflowing. By the time tech catches up with her she will be taking us on daily interplanetary excursions.. Thanks so much Ellen.
Great review Ellen. Really enjoyed both the shortscale, mustang inspired bass and the jazz bass. That pocket though, in the jazz bass clip, that´s some serious, next level playing. Well done
Miss Ellen you make me want to purchase all 3! You play Bass guitar so well and I can listen to you play for hours! Please keep up your great work Maam! Bravo Dad for encouraging your wonderful daughter!❤😇🙏👏🤘
The only thing I didn't care for is the color but I assume they come in a variety to choose from. Ellen seemed right at home on the last one even though it's a full scale. She has grown into an incredible bassist and never fails to impress.
INCREDIBLE PRICING! As a hard rock bassist from the 70s with over 50 years of playing experience I’ve seen it all - except this. Just in time for the holidays (no mistake you can be sure) if anybody is thinking of gifting one of these please please please buy all three! - an immediate toolbox for anybody rising to playing proficiency. Buy the jazz for the beginner all by itself - the versatility of that configuration should meet 90% of your needs. BUT😂 if you are going to play Led Zeppelin (greatest band ever!) or anything from the 70s you will need the workhorse - a precision bass. but again, these prices!!! Buy a minimum of two if you can - very nicely done! probably made in China but Designed in Italy by Mark Bass no doubt. Thanks Hovak and Ellen for bringing this offer to light but I still hate that orange😂😂 but that’s what paint is for! Just let your future maestro have his or her way with it. An instrument is a very personal thing. Butt out parents - get out of our way! 😂😂❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 SWEET !! ❤❤
WOW, kiddo I haven't watched you in a bit. your playing has skyrocketed. finger-picking slapping keep it up you are going to be amazing nothing will stop you
Liked the P Bass. Ellen you are amazing. Love all your videos. You are already a accomplished musician. I say it's time for a Ellen signature Bass. Definitely.
For me, it was the Jazz bass, i dont really hear a difference, but i liked it most how you played it. You are an amazing musician and i think you can also sell refrigerators to some Inuit. Always nice to see you!!!😊
Hey when I was 6 yrs old I learn how to play the drums with my uncle he played the accordion when I got older I'd played with a band for many years even in church but now I'm to old can't hold on to the drum 🥁🛢️ sticks 😭 because of my arthritis 🥰🌹🎀🥳💔 so what ever instrument you play keep it up oh I know how to play the saxophone Alto tender and bartone you could say it runs in the family my grandparents were musicians my mom sang with my 3 aunts so keep playing with your instrument who knows you could be the next person to play in a band like me
Out of these 3 basses, which one did you like the most?
P-bass sounds really good!
I always look forward to your presentation. I liked the P-Bass the most . The Jazz had a great sound also. The short scale was ok. I'm playing a short scale part of the time. At 69 I'm trending toward lighter weight Basses. Have a great holiday season.

The JB
she gave a thumbs up to the Jazz bass, so i'm gonna guess that one. LOL
Ellen is starting to show the confidence of her talent, which is growing rapidly. Her runs are flawless and she's in the moment, so professional and at-ease. She is going to grow into an amazing woman and a hell of a bass player.

Ellen’s talent is amazing. I could listen to her play all day. Nice sounding entry level basses, but I bet she could make 4 strings on a piece of plywood sound good. ❤❤❤
And those 4 strings could be nothing more than jute twine!
Doesn't matter what kinda bass guitar you put in Ellen Alaverdyan's hand's she's a born natural in every way
No doubt about that!
I feel that Yamaha also makes a very good bass for around the same price. Maybe you could do a review on those
They all sounded great. But I wanna thank you for letting us watch Ellen grow. And by that I mean intelligent, skill and ability, she's becoming awesome musician and I love to hear Her play. And thank you Ellen for the beautiful music.
The jazz bass Ellen crushed it the most❤ that was my favorite

Cool basses, tough to choose.
Ellen's progress in her skills always surprises me, very well done.
The Jazz really cut through the mix well. Ellen has mastered the fundamentals and is becoming a true force to be reckoned with.
Wow! All three basses sounded great! Ellen made them sound even better!
My thoughts exactly 😊❤😊
Ellen you are getting SO GOOD! Clean and right in the pocket on timing. Such a pleasure to watch you grow up, both as an adorable young lady and as a musician! Keep being you Miss Ellen!
Ellen, all three of those were like total precision. Every time I hear you I'm just more and more impressed. No doubt in my mind you're going to go far. ❤

Jazz bass for me Ellen but great sound from all three, well played Ellen can see how much you have gained your playing
I like the tone of the P Bass, but the jazz bass is crisper with a little more edge. Both have their place and function. Ellen is awesome in both scenarios as demonstrated on this video.
She plays so good, and she gives me inspiration to write more and more , many greetings from Europe belgium 💙
Hi from Belgium too, our country is full of excellent musicians too ! :-) Greetings.
Love the sound of all three but especially the Jazz. Ellen never ceases to amaze me. She just keeps getting better and better....
Nice Ms E!
You’re so talented. Merry Christmas to you and the family from Texas.

I don't know what's more beautiful about Ellen, her masterful bass playing or her masterful and extremely contagious smile. I see her smile and I automatically smile myself, hahaha

Brother, you doing a great job raising this artist.
Her talent grows daily. Good job Ellen!
Really enjoy the bass lines and reviews but Ellen’s sunny vibe and great attitude is always a treat , keep it up Ellen
Literally watching this little girl grow up on TH-cam. Her technique is getting so much better.
Such a blessed soul you are Ellen!! Wishing you the very best in all your endeavors!! 🎸
The Jazz bass hands down. Well played, thanks. 👍 Good value for money.
Ellen. You've had it and you've got it. TALENT. Look forward to seeing your career evolve. You and your Papa Hovak are some of the good in this World of ours. From a fellow bass player.
I liked all three. I can't pick one because I'm no musician. I do know, though, that Ellen's talent is outstanding.❤🎸
Tough one. They all sounded incredible with Ellen playing. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day. Love you guys. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.
I'd say the first bass but it could be because I like the groove the best out of the three.
I liked first one as well
I think they all sounded great, but the PBass sounds amazing!! Thanks Hovak for sharing the talent of your amazing daughter Ellen!! Its so entertaining to watch her play!!👍👍❤️❤️😁😁
"P" Bass! You can really see Ellen feeling the music now, besides playing it!
You shine girl. Keep on smiling. I'll never buy a bass, but I loved the three short pieces you played. Thank you.
I like the P bass and the jazz bass equally. I love this channel Ellen you are so good. Keep the great vids coming ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Although I'm a subscriber but seen her after a long time, my god she has grown up very much now ❣️
Besides her playing (which is amazing), is how poised and maturely this young lady carries herself.

Like the section where you played Birdland!
Love the sound from each bass..However Ellen is an AWESOME PLAYER ❤❤❤
Ellen, you brought out the differences between all three basses very well and very clearly! The only answer is to get all 3!
I don't want to be rude at all guys, I really love this channel and Ellen's talent of course... I definitely dig the p bass! I love the deep cut sounds! But all I can say, is that Ellen is definitely going somewhere! Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us Ellen!!!
You just keep getting better & better!
Fantastic Groove Ellen! Love your playing!
You’re gonna be famous kiddo. You’re already so talented. More talented than many adults who have many years of experience.
It's great to see Ellen playing!
What a fantastic video, your playing is out of this world Ellen. Wow what a quality bass at a cheap price!!!
Thanks so much.
I love your version of Birdland, when you starting walking on the bass it made my day.
Solid!!!
Yellow basses because Ellen is like Midas and anything she touches turns to gold.
You did a fantastic job on all three. I always enjoy watching and listening to you play, as much as I love seeing that smile. That all said, I believe I enjoyed the Jazz Bass the most.
Awesome. They all sound great, but I dig the Jazz the best.
I was shopping for a J Bass and was zeroing in on the Sire Marcus Miller V3 J Bass or Squier J bass (I am a novice). I saw this video, and said to myself, "I have to check this MBJ bass out." Love it Ellen...they all sound great in your hands...you have incredible natural feel for the instrument!....
Oh my, Jaco tunes, my all time favourite bass player. I had the privilege seeing him live in 80's.
They all sound good but I love Ellen's take on 'Birdland' with the Jazz.
The best, to me was the P bass but all were very good Ellen's skills are massive and her talent is overflowing. By the time tech catches up with her she will be taking us on daily interplanetary excursions.. Thanks so much Ellen.
Ellen, you're getting better every day! Your groove is STRONG! 💪
single coil fan here , in both guitar and bass , so the Jazz bass tone stood out to me the most , nice and crisp
Great review Ellen. Really enjoyed both the shortscale, mustang inspired bass and the jazz bass. That pocket though, in the jazz bass clip, that´s some serious, next level playing. Well done
Wow everytime i see a new post you get better and better!!!!!
Great video and awesome playing like always!
Miss Ellen you make me want to purchase all 3! You play Bass guitar so well and I can listen to you play for hours! Please keep up your great work Maam! Bravo Dad for encouraging your wonderful daughter!❤😇🙏👏🤘
Ellen is really awesome. Love watching her play...
Those all sound great. I love affordable basses, thanks for the demo and info
The only thing I didn't care for is the color but I assume they come in a variety to choose from. Ellen seemed right at home on the last one even though it's a full scale. She has grown into an incredible bassist and never fails to impress.
Nice fingerwork at 3:15
I've always loved the P bass, but... That Jazz bass? WOW! And who doesn't love just hearing Ellen play??!!
Excellent video. Great playing to showcase each of the basses. I liked the first one. Might actually pick that up.
I like the first one best Ellen but you make them all
sound amazing! You’re so talented🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thank you so much!
Wow Ellen, nice playing, they all so sound good!!!
Great sounding basses! Great playing as well!
Wonderfully played Ellen.
My choise would be the first. The sound is smooth.
❤
Ellen was getting the Groove on with the jazz bass. She is always groovin' but I thought I picked up a little something extra. Always FUN
You make them sound like million dollar machines. Great videos. Merry Christmas 🎄
It's really amazing how professionally Ellen can play the bass. Really professional, respect.💖💖💖💖👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
I love that she can rock her bass and she got it from guitar center website! 🎉Slay all day girl!❤

WOW, kiddo I haven't watched you in a bit. your playing has skyrocketed. finger-picking slapping keep it up you are going to be amazing nothing will stop you
All 3 beautiful bass guitars ❤❤❤ Ellen rocks 🎉🎉🎉
Liked the P Bass. Ellen you are amazing. Love all your videos. You are already a accomplished musician. I say it's time for a Ellen signature Bass. Definitely.
I have a P bass. I chose this because I'm a big fan of Sting and that's what he plays mostly. That Short scale you play here sounds cool to me 😁👍
I have a lot of bass guitars I just bought a squier affinity six string bass guitar that hit the market last month 😊
i liked the first one and last, but you know what your doing keep it up and thumbs up, you get a lot of them, good going.
For me, it was the Jazz bass, i dont really hear a difference, but i liked it most how you played it. You are an amazing musician and i think you can also sell refrigerators to some Inuit. Always nice to see you!!!😊
