David, I have a 24" version of the Planar, in the form of a touchscreen. I expect it has the same problem, as the backlight has failed. Thank you for the detailed instruction! Keep up the excellent work!
Excellent video (service bulletin really!). I have a Planar PCT2485 that is not lighting. I will be following the steps in this video to attempt a repair. I will post an update with the outcome. Thank you for taking the time to make this very well-made repair video.
Any idea how to get the base off? The instructions in the manual only tell you how to remove the leg, but not the swivel. The swivel is attached with a screw that is not possible to reach with even my skinniest screwdriver, as far as I can tell.
Is anyone else having the same problem I'm having with this video? The audio is not synced with the actual footage of the repair. I mean it is WAY off. I want to fix my Planar 2710 but I can't follow this.
Thank you for calling out the disconnect between the video and audio that had developed. This is a recent problem. I originally edited this video using TH-cam's editing software. It appears to have screwed something up. I made a slight edit change and the video and audio appear to be synchronized again.
@@jesseparris6507 When buying only a few capacitors, I just use Amazon, especially if I have other things I am ordering and I can get the total order above the $25 level for free shipping. Otherwise you will pay more for shipping that for the capacitors.
Page 13 of the manual: "OSD-Lock Function: To lock the OSD, press and hold the SELECT button while the monitor is off and then press power button to turn the monitor on. To un-lock the OSD - press and hold the SELECT- button while the monitor is off and then press power button to turn the monitor on."

Thank you so much I figured it was a capacitor but would not have realized to check the mosfets you helped and educated me and I am most grateful.

Well, you have the other Planar video that I watched which is fine. Where’s the best place to order good capacitors?
