First gen v70R had a production-run with a special colour called Lazer Blue. Only produced in '99 and '00. The total production-numbers were 800 units.
The 30th anniversary Fairlady Z yellow and silver colors were really cool at the time because they actually used bright aluminum and titanium metal flake in the paint, making them one of the brightest silvers that Nissan produced. The yellow was that silver with a rich candy yellow blown over it. It's a great color. Mazda also recently did a 30th anniversary color for the MX-5 which is a mild color-shift orange that looks pretty great.
One of my buddy’s owns a Volvo and says his model has a yellow that was very limited (don’t remember numbers but sub 1000) pretty sure he said it was similar to the color on the e36 M3s

had a 2008 Saab 9-5 aero wagon in red, it needed a hood respray but the paint was crazy expensive. when I looked it up, I was driving 1-of-14 made! Talk about scarce! Ended up just painting it black, because racecar.
As an original owner of a CYM 1993 Mazda RX-7 R1, please allow me a few comments. 1. The color is Competition Yellow Mica, pronounced m-eye-kah, not mee-kah. 2. While the final layers of paint were yellow, the base layers were green, giving the effect that distinguished it from flat mustardy yellows or dingy Porsche yellows. 3. There were multiple layers of clear coat, with the first layer embedded with tiny reflective particles reminiscent of mica (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mica) giving a delicate sparkle more akin to a shimmer than to typical chunky flake effects popular earlier. 4. The paint was difficult to match, likely due to the unusual process, so it was discontinued after 1993 to be replaced with white, disparagingly referred to as “refrigerator white”. 5. In Canada, other trim levels could be had in CYM, so be careful even if looking at an original CYM car as it may not be an R1. Look for a rear windshield wiper, only one front oil cooler, or cruise control as telltales of the lower performance specs. 6. My research at the time showed 220 CYM Mazda RX-7 R1s imported into the US, but I’m working on old memory and basic internet searches at the time. 7. Fun fact: My specific car was built in August of 1992, but there were no 1992 Mazda RX-7s, with the FC ending in 1991. Damn, I miss that car. So easy to transform from a comfortable and capable 255hp spec into a very reliable (despite what the haters will claim) 450hp (on the stock sequential turbos) track weapon that easily put the 911TT, Corvette, Viper GTS, Mustang Cobra, and all BMWs of the day to shame. I have video to prove it.
The only rare colored car that I ever owned was a 2003 Subaru WRX wagon in Sonic Yellow. It was a fun, bold color. 1000 sedans, and 500 wagons were made in 2003 only.
Skyline R34 GT-R VspecII Nur in Millenium Jade, only 150 or so were made in this color. (I always thought it was champagne, or something champagne, or champagne something, just looked it up.No factory champane colors) Total grandma type of pale khaki color though. But This was a video about color, and the midnight purple suits the spot for the skyline better. More Rare than Midnight Purple 2, but less rare by miles to Midnight Purp 3
I recently purchased a 2017 Ford Fiesta ST in molten orange and am trying to figure out how many were made. It looks like they were all made with Recaro seats that have orange inserts and sunroofs unless special ordered.
What is your opinion on the Volvo 850 T5R Platinum? Or T-Gul? Then there is Saffron Metallic and Cassis for the P80 based S70/V70/C70 P2 got Flash Green which looks especially good and or special with the Atacama interior.

Actually there are a lot of rare nsx colors, the main two colors the car came in were formula red and Berlina black with another more common color being Sebring silver. All the rest of the colors are sub 500 units which is awesome.
A Delorean is a POS but its an awesome POS. Pre 90's kids get it in much of the same way the the RX-8 is basically viewed for the younger generation. Its a really cool looking car, but thats really about it. Under powered, rubber band engines, and go to fast bolts start to fall off (in fairness I understand the RX-8 was overall better built). I will never buy a Delorean, but everyone stops in thier tracks when a Delorean is around and takes pictures of them. (Don't lie, you would and/or have done it!)
The Hyundai Veloster rally edition is not a thing to pass by, with only 1200 units, fit with a matte blue paint, special edition rims, sport suspension and a short throw shift, this little beast is quick, doing the quarter mille in 16.890 sec

The 07 GTI and GLI Fahrenheit editions. Came with custom interior trim to match the paint.

Lexus did make the first IS model in Solar yellow, 2001 Is300. Only 2 models in that exact color is300 and LFA.

Pontiac 00-02 T/A had a Rare Purple only 50 or so were produced it was a factory flaw not sure the year
