You don't need to be scared of them. I live near as well. They mean no harm. My teen daughters and I independently had experiences there. We believe they may be trapped. One boy tried to talk to one daughter, but she couldn't understand what he was saying. She felt it was the older boy. My other daughter, she strongly felt that the smaller boy...he tried to take her hand twice when she was walking out. She felt a little hand grab her's 2 times, like he was trying to take her hand and walk with her. There's a certain point where you can just feel the shift in energy and it almost seems like they can't pass it. Instead of running away, she went running back toward the monument. She was sobbing and felt strongly that the boys did not want her to leave, especially the little one. She told them she was very sorry, but she had to go. She was upset for weeks afterwards. We all wish we could do something to help them, but we don't know how. It could be residual energy just from the place and the tragedy, however we've all three had experiences that we can't explain and intelligent communications. If people are not used to this kind of activity, yes, it can be very creepy. However I'm telling you these boys mean no harm and pose no threat.
The stone on the lower left of the picture was the marker of the spot where the children were found for fifty years! The significance of the stone is that is the same stone George Cox stretched his wool knit hat over to make a pillow for Joseph.
