I legit thought after 10 years of mystery and theory, and 4 years of Witness edging, we weren’t getting any new enemies outside of reskins. I’m glad theyre expanding on the Tormentors and whatnot.
“So how will they explain the Witness Enemies in the Lore?” Pretty easily actually, as they have already built towards the Witness and the Disciples evolving and mutating the species it’s indoctrinated. The Tormentors and Subjugators are ancient species we don’t know, while the Bladed guys are definitely mutated Hive. I like how some of them are so different you can’t actually tell what they used to be.
I noticed that the flying guys never seemed to be much higher than just a bit off of whatever surface they are over, making me afraid that they will just act like the skimmers from Halo Infinite rather than proper flying enemies like the drones from earlier Halo titles.
If they did what you described harder level difficulty involving them would be unbearable. Imagine doing a GM and while you're being rushed by ads and Champs you have these things that can slow and jam your abilities flying around in the sky.
@@nullandvoid7524 Easy solution: Don't overcomplicate enemy mechanics and shift the special attack to a different enemy or a new one and allow for the flying to be an actual unique mechanic for the enemy instead of reskinned walking. Try to keep in mind that Bungie leadership is to blame for all their problems, not the devs. When the devs are not constantly restricted and restrained we get stuff like this.
4:20 the UI will be updated in TFS along with more QOL stuff, specifically buffs/debuffs will be better positioned & critical information will be below the health bar & weapon buffs will be above the super bar, overall a good change, it allows things to not all be on 1 side & having buffs/debuffs randomly cycled out. Certain buffs/debuffs will also be prioritized over others
A lot of people are speculating this will be the last proper d2 dlc. The complete and utter power creep seems impossible to balance so they’re just saying “fuck it”. Honestly I have no idea how a destiny 3 could work because there’s so much bloat in destiny 2 if we lose it all everyone will get upset, but if we keep most of the stuff going into destiny 3 what’s the point of the game? I just think it’s funny that it finally took 10 years to get a completely new faction. It seems to me that the bungie higher ups that people complain about honestly thought having the same 4 factions since destiny launched would be fine. I know the scorn and taken exist but they really aren’t different. They follow the basic faction design of a small enemy, an exploding enemy, a middle health enemy, a slightly tanker enemy and maybe a large hard to kill enemy.
To answer your question about the new supers, ya they will still be a thing, as you can see hunter doing the new arc super in the first gameplay demonstration.
As someone else has probably already said but a TWAB was posted a day after the reveal stream detailing much more about Prismatic. Prismatic will be much more restrictive than you think. It's a curated selection of 1 ability from each subclass for each slot to choose from. So to give an example for aspects Warlocks get Feed the Void (Void) Bleak Watcher (Stasis) Weaver's Call (Strand) Hellion (Solar) and Lightning Surge (Arc) to choose from. You can't pick Arc Soul or Icarus Dash because a different aspect was picked to "represent" that subclass. Same goes for Supers and grenades and etc. (the new aspects and super introduced for each class have been prioritized for Prismatic) again to give another example only Prismatic Hunter will have access to Grapple Grenade. Personally, I think they did a very good job with it. Its limited nature makes sure the balance stays within reason, allowing the other subclasses to still have their use but all the while not too limiting to still allow for lots of really fun and unique build crafting opportunities with the changes they made to the fragments and aspects. Again to give an example for Titan they picked Diamond Lance for their Stasis aspect and to allow Diamond Lance to be more readily available any ability kill regardless of damage type procks Diamond Lance.
I think the new enemies were always planned, whereas the Prismatic Subclass was the stuff they've added with the delay. A subclass isn't something you'd save for a future trailer; an enemy type is, imo. Also, you mentioned the lore aspect of these enemies, Byf has a pretty solid theory on them. These are all past factions that the Witness has reshaped like they did the Tormentors; seen more obviously in the new Psions, whereas the Husk is subtler, but still has the hallmarks of a Hive Acolyte. The Grim are a species we haven't seen, the Subjigators are based on Rhulk, the Tormentors are based on Nezarec.
Nah bc the subclass leak we got back last year that showed a red subclass had other subclass abilities for the grenade and melee. 4 months is not even close to enough time to add a subclass and entire new exotic class item system that synergizes with it
Nothing new was added in the three months, if you ask me, or at least, nothing substantial. I bet all of this was planned, and the three extra months just helped make it so it’s much more polished at this stage than it would’ve been before.
Prismatic and the Exotic class items feel a lot like a testing ground for making a Destiny 3 with no classes or subclasses, just different abilities you can slot in. Since even Prismatic has its own restrictions right now because it's built in a system where classes are still a core part of the game. But then the class items letting you use exotic traits from other classes feels like that dissolving the class system is their end goal at some point.
From what I have found out prismatic will be a jack of all trades master of none type class there will be supers and fragments you are locked out of making solo subclassing favorable for certain activities like warlock will have to do pure solar if they are gonna run well
I haven't played Destiny since the first one launched on the 360 back in the day but i keep up with it via YOU, but these enemies look really sweet. I hope this is a rare W for Bungie
It's kinda strange that there wasn't even a single mention of "Episodes" dunno if it's because they really focused 100% on TFS or if something perhaps changed. Combined with that oddly specific comment Luke made at the very beginning about d2 and destiny as a whole as well.
Because this is the final shape gameplay showcase… not a showcase about the future of destiny. It’s not even a story showcase so of course they aren’t going to show anything about the episodes.
I don’t think that this was made in such short time. My guess is either wasn’t ready to show at the initial reveal, or more likely they wanted to be a surprise for later
End game asset reuse is just saying fuck it to balance. I think destiny is over after this, there is no way you can balance this with more content. Imagine trying to take this level of control away from players? This is a desperate move tbh looks cool tho
the question im asking is if there are limitations what will they feel in the gameplay. by this insight they show oher and over the same combinations. Now is it because they dont want to show more or is it realy that limited ?...i guess we'll see
Just so you know Final Shape is actually currently winning on pre-orders. Witch Queen, Beyond Light, and Lightfall only had like 200K pre-orders up till the final week in which they jumped to about 1M each Final Shape on the other hand started at 400K and has been growing faster than the other 3 dlcs did. Edit: Also Bungie makes things VERY far in advance. Season of the deep was very likely close if not ready to ship before Lightfall launched from what I can tell content is made 6 months in advance and bungie has trouble changing schedules due to higher ups this is why things update slow because they struggle to fix things they weren't prepared for and why it feels like some things are fixed quick and others aren't because some are known and already being worked on while the others aren't. They also make the base and concepts for each dlc far in advance like even further like the concept art for what they ended up turning into prismatic? That was made before Lightfall launched from what I know and was shown off publicly after Lightfalls launch. I highly doubt Bungie made a new species and prismatic in 6 months when we know the concept art for prismatic was made over a year ago and the schedule of Bungie would mean the Dread likely started development around season of the Witch or Deep possibly earlier.
the ironic thing about all of this is that if they just did this from the start as in, include all theres features and shit that people actually wanted, they wouldn't be in the state they are in right now. It just shows how poor and unorganized the leadership at bungie is, the execs micromanage/nickel and dime everything until the game and company is in a horrendous state than finally the devs are given the freedom and budget to actually make the game good. Its absolutely mental that bungie has made it this far with how unsustainable their business practices are.
The blog post they made recently shows the aspects prism can use. Most of them are.....kinda mid but I understand they dont want to make THE CLASS. Like since I cant use icarus dash or heat rises in prism, I'm likely not going to use it in pvp as movement and angles are too important. Edit: Also looking at the class exotics its looking to be diet versions of those exotics as the titan mark says spirit of ophidian: Boosts handling, when the actual ophidians boosts handling AND reload. So again it seems they dont want it to be the best. I low key wish bungie just threw balance out the window and just gave us all our tools, but then this dlc would be mandatory of anyone looking to play. At the same time these blogs have tempered my excitement.
Literally not even 2 months ago were people bitching and moaning about the d2 devs being fired and how they refuse to buy final shape out of how disgraceful the bungie execs are. Yet it only took em 1 shitty reveal stream to forget about everything bungie has done in the past decade. The cycle once again begins anew
@@panzershreck8077 yep lol. goes to show everyone's a hypocrite. it's all bullshit and bungie is full of it just as much as the people who play their games.
I want to be excited to play Destiny again. But I'm far too familiar with this hype cycle. Also, new animations and stuff is cool for the new subclass, but really it isn't changing the gameplay that drastically. And I personally think Destiny needs more depth, a reason to play optimaly, because since the beginning, the only reason to do all these flashy moves and cooldown cycling abilities is just style points. Rarely do you need to play like the trailers show unless you're soloing a dungeon, and even then, the hardest part of soloing content is the dps checks, which is the least skill dependent part of it... I'll stop ranting 😅
It's the same cycle we've seen before. This DLC is likely to be pretty solid, the next one is going to be awful, and after that the next one is going to be meh
I really enjoy your Destiny videos. As a typical Destiny fan who has a love/hate relationship with the game. I logged in shortly after Lance Reddick passed away to join in with people paying their respects - I hadn't played since Shadowkeep. I hung around just because shooting aliens felt cool, but I'd also missed a ton of DLC. I've watched your whole Destiny series today (perks of working from home, eh?) and shared a lot of similar thoughts, even if I may have stuck around more in your down days. I think this video is the first time I've felt hyped about Destiny since The Taken King. I honestly think a lot of people will play it just to get that "ending" that we've been promised. I really hope they deliver, but my expectations are not high, even if I am hyped.
I stopped playing not long after finishing the Lightfall campaign, after getting disgusted by whatever that narrative was, as well as the monetization & management woes from the company. I've really enjoyed my break away from the game, and up until the "Into the Light" reveal content (that I've bothered to look at), and this particular reveal segment, I've been pretty content away from the game. I _might_ return, but only after all the content creators and likewise churn through it to tell me how good/bad it is. I know Bungie's marketing team is good enough at their job to turn a shit stain into the Mona Lisa -- can't trust anything they put out as an advertisement.
Yes those poor poor devs want the best for the players!!! But ughh those damn greedy executives are ruining the game!!! Bro, most senior employees are not working at bungie anymore
The new subclass is only using specific attributes from the the other classes, so there’s still a reason to run the other classes. This is a jack of all trades master of none class.
also im still worried that the new expansion is just gonna reuse previous levels. they literally havent addressed that part since the last reveal they did
We are already so op it doesn't really matter. Also prismatic only has a handful of skills to pick from so the others are not pointless. My sunbrasers build doesn't work on it
What's funny about the new player on-boarding experience is they have finally decided to just let you... skip it entirely lol like there's a specific mission banner you walk up to that just skips New Light in the cosmodrome now. They did do the right thing and they have new starter kits for free at Ikora that let you choose one of the Light subclasses and get a starter set of the aspects/fragments without having to unlock them as well legendary/exotics and an armor set. Aka they made that terrible New light Starter kit microtransaction that launched with Season of the Wish that they eventually took down free.
Hey man I’ve been watching your vids for years and I just wanna be here and let you know you’re genuinely one of the realest creators out there in terms of putting your opinion and honesty out there, and it honestly saddens me that it’s hard for me to find content from you. I can tell this is one of your fav franchises as well, just wish I could find more of you tho cause that’s what I’m here for.
Unfortunately, Bungie knows their audience too well. While all this stuff looks okay, to me it's still kind of the bare minimum. But to Destiny players, it feels more like an ocean of great things because they've been SO STARVED for anything outside of mediocre. They've starved their fanbase so much that people are cheering for what should be the absolute basics from any other studio. It's crazy and fascinating to watch. Great vid as always Alex, looking forward to your views on this final expansion after it comes out.
Legit. I don't even think the ''the shooting is amazing'' really holds up anymore either. It was more impressive in 2014 but you have so many other options for good feeling shooters now lmao.
As much as people hate bungie. Their business model for not overdelivering is fucking genius. Always keep the expectations low for the playerbase and you will always impress them. You dare try to take off the blind fold from their rabid fanbse tho, they go fucking nuts and can't stop coping about how not shit their game is.
@@omensoffate Because they can't otherwise you get the Forsaken schtick where they spoil the one intereting thing before you'd eventually play up towards it. I've not played this game past mission 1 (or 2) of Forsaken and even if I wanted to I couldn't, so my "Destiny-fix" has been fully through IHE in the sense of watching a nice screensaver covering a trashfire. What I gather from Destiny (Bungie) is that they have been quite adept at making a 'story' all of a single sentience (or scene) long, and if they 'reveal' anything, they give away the "story-mode campaign".
" Also I know they have to put it in marketing BUT I wish just once they could have you experience something in game" LOLz Well now I wonder about last reveal stream when everyone said "meh" and Pre-order sales were extremely low. Maybe they WANTED to have that surprise subclass/enemies to happen....BUT Pre Orders sales stunk so NOW they had to put this out and spoil surprise. @@nullandvoid7524 Easy solution: Don't overcomplicate enemy mechanics and shift the special attack to a different enemy or a new one and allow for the flying to be an actual unique mechanic for the enemy instead of reskinned walking. I say this because skimmers in halo infinite are a massive disappointment, especially due to the lack of drones, as they are literally just effectively tall grunts.

Try to keep in mind that Bungie leadership is to blame for all their problems, not the devs. When the devs are not constantly restricted and restrained we get stuff like this.
Some developers that wanted to make up for Lightfall and deliver on player feedback were the first to be fired, says a lot about management
IHE won't talk about it because he is a moron
Wdym speculating? They've confirmed this is the end.
They are really trying to get preorders
@@PANCAKEMINEZZHave they? As far as I know all the D3 talk comes from rumours and inside knowledge. Bungie still insists they are working on d2
@@omensoffateMad i bet cry
IHE doesn't care
As always I am simply grateful my sunshine IHE has uploaded once again boy oh boy where do I begin
The clown
He’s back
I think the new enemies were always planned, whereas the Prismatic Subclass was the stuff they've added with the delay.
If you remember from the first trailer, the titan was glowing like they were here.
That’s exactly it. This subclass is just for preorders. Think about that
Cry
From what I have found out prismatic will be a jack of all trades master of none type class there will be supers and fragments you are locked out of making solo subclassing favorable for certain activities like warlock will have to do pure solar if they are gonna run well
I really enjoy any video you put out. It means something to me. I have been through a lot in my life. Don’t stop.

Happy to see that devs finally got the chance to add content. Too bad i dropped this franchise before the taken king.
So now the question arises which content will be axed in order to shove this in.
@@skorpion7132Moon content is next on the block. They already axed Forsaken
@@raven75257 They haven't done that since WQ
It's kinda strange that there wasn't even a single mention of "Episodes" dunno if it's because they really focused 100% on TFS or if something perhaps changed. Combined with that oddly specific comment Luke made at the very beginning about d2 and destiny as a whole as well.
Not really this is about the final shape. Like they said at the start after that they will talk about it
Because this is the final shape gameplay showcase… not a showcase about the future of destiny. It’s not even a story showcase so of course they aren’t going to show anything about the episodes.
I think that the dread, prismatic, exotic class items were always planned but they likely didn't have enough time until it got delayed
🤓
Can’t wait for your review 😁😁
19:10 YES THANK YOU, holy shit
the question im asking is if there are limitations what will they feel in the gameplay. by this insight they show oher and over the same combinations. Now is it because they dont want to show more or is it realy that limited ?...i guess we'll see
You get the new subclass right away and a full build with olit they said. And once again Bungie is at its best on its deathbed
Since the subclass was a last minute addition I doubt the campaign will be too focused on it thank god
I highly doubt Bungie made a new species and prismatic in 6 months when we know the concept art for prismatic was made over a year ago and the schedule of Bungie would mean the Dread likely started development around season of the Witch or Deep possibly earlier.
i was waiting for this video so much.
You know IHE hasnt played in awhile when he says Strand Titan sucks, when its one of the most broken builds in the game lol
the ironic thing about all of this is that if they just did this from the start as in, include all theres features and shit that people actually wanted, they wouldn't be in the state they are in right now.
Ive BEEN waiting on this!
Cant wait to hear it
i love that you do these destiny react videos thanks
At the same time these blogs have tempered my excitement.

one live stream and the gold fish memory destiny community is reset again and the last 10 years is magically forgiven. very cool.
They aren't being forgiven though. A lot of people are still cautiously optimistic.
You better not mess with Destiny fans: they're addicted to playing the same game for 10 years straight
Says the loser who plays mid games lol
?
It's the same cycle we've seen before. This DLC is likely to be pretty solid, the next one is going to be awful, and after that the next one is going to be meh
BABE WAKE UP ALEX MADE A VID ON THE FINAL SHAPE NEWS
"Yeah the gunbat *wheeze*"
I have been WAITING for this.
Hype building for IHE destiny vid :o
No moth people = not touching the game.
They're dead in lore kic
The return of my favourite Destiny TH-camr
It’s amazing that I’m so desperate for new IHE content that I’ll just watch him react to a trailer for a game I’ve never played.
I like to think the devs tied and gagged all the executives to their chairs so they could cook
Yes those poor poor devs want the best for the players!!! But ughh those damn greedy executives are ruining the game!!!
Bro, most senior employees are not working at bungie anymore
IHE you get both new supers the light ones and the prismatic ones
The new subclass is only using specific attributes from the the other classes, so there’s still a reason to run the other classes. This is a jack of all trades master of none class.
also im still worried that the new expansion is just gonna reuse previous levels. they literally havent addressed that part since the last reveal they did
13:55 Kinda looks like an X-Chozo Warrior with wings
Technically theres more years than days
All of this seems very power creeped but it's probably the last expansion ill play of D2 so atleast It'll be fun.
Aka they made that terrible New light Starter kit microtransaction that launched with Season of the Wish that they eventually took down free.
good to see you man
Ya knew it was comin
Hey man I’ve been watching your vids for years and I just wanna be here and let you know you’re genuinely one of the realest creators out there in terms of putting your opinion and honesty out there, and it honestly saddens me that it’s hard for me to find content from you. One thing that reassures me though is that you, one of my favorite creators for media reviews, covers one of my all time favorite games.

They didn’t even show anything good yet. I don’t want to go back to playlist activities and the same stuff after the campaign is done
As much as people hate bungie. Their business model for not overdelivering is fucking genius. Always keep the expectations low for the playerbase and you will always impress them. You dare try to take off the blind fold from their rabid fanbse tho, they go fucking nuts and can't stop coping about how not shit their game is.
Well, to be fair... everyone else left, so they only need to cater to the one group that is still in denial.
What do their laid off workers think of this radical update. Must be pretty pumped….
A low IQ kid here
" Also I know they have to put it in marketing BUT I wish just once they could have you experience something in game"

Well now I wonder about last reveal stream when everyone said "meh" and Pre-order sales were extremely low. Maybe they WANTED to have that surprise subclass/enemies to happen....BUT Pre Orders sales stunk so NOW they had to put this out and spoil surprise. Either way, they revealed it now (because low sales) OR made it all in last few months (because sales were low).
I was D 1 Alpha player and didn't preorder and this got me back, so well done I guess.
5:35 anyone notice The guy next to the art director, and the shirt he was wearing? It says destiny with a wrinkled up “3”. It’s official y’all.
This shit is all stuff that has been on warframe for well over 4 years lmao, the best destiny can do is to copy the most average warframe update, and ask 50 bucls for it

I appreciate this video so much since this whole thing was basically me when I saw the video. Like I was both pleased and annoyed.
