    In Computer Science (computability theory to be more precise) these kind of 'conversions' (transforming a problem to another problem for which you already know a good solution) are called reductions and are used widely to make formal proofs and assert certain properties of a problem.

    Both E & Z perm can be set up to H perm, however doing so would require effectively doing the E/Z perm itself. It’s slightly better because you don’t have to worry about the first two layers but still pretty annoying. This video really impressed me, when I saw it I immediately thought the only possible PLL’s are 2e2c’s. I’m definitely going to play around with this concept some more

    Since the cube forms a group under the operation of face turns and is algebraically closed by definition you should be able to “add” to any position that if you take the inverse, it ends up being the identity of the group + the “added moves”, the taking the inverse of those added moves should get you to the identity, which is the solved cube

    Hi Dylan, I kind of came up with one for Z perm, I say kind of, because it involves two J perms rather than one, but it is just S M (Jb) M' S' (Jb). You probably already noticed that, but if not there you go.

    I found out that it's possible to solve a 2x2 with ONLY T perms. No setup moves, no OLLs, ONLY T perms.
    Since J perms do the exact same thing, just with different edge swaps, you could also do it with only J perms.

    For E-Perm:
    You can’t do it with perfect set-up (as in do x , do Jb-Perm, do x’, but you can do if you add a “U” move into the mix and add a “U2” at the end. It breaks the rules a little, but it is all you can really do.
    Here is how:
    [Y] (S M’ U’ M U2 S’ R U R’) (U Jb-Perm U2) (R U’ R’ {U} S U2 M’ U M S’) {U2}
    For Z-Perm:
    Same type of deal as the E-Perm, but only 1 added “U’”move
    Here is how:
    (S M’ U’ M U2 S’ R F2 R U’ F2 U R’ F2 R’) (Jb-Perm U) (R F2 R U’ F2 U R’ F2 R’ {U’} S U2 M’ U M S’)
    I know that they don’t completely follow the rules, but it is still cool and it is as close as you can get.
    If anyone has any improvements reply and I will edit this post and give you credit. (:

      @JPerm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I noticed you used other setups combined! I came to the same conclusion so I'm pretty sure you're correct as well. But I can't think of a systematic way to improve the "setup" here, as it's just combining 2 setups so we're just hoping they're good.
