i loveee how well rounded you are! i feellike a lot of dark academia is based in eurocentric standards and art and its SO nice to hear rounded answers amazing!
I totally find death so reassuring in my pointless pursuit of becoming "more" than who I think I am. Pursuit or lack thereof, no one really cares; It's truly better to live the way I want to
Yes, definitely. Especially if the pursuit is something that's performative or for other people in some way. Better if the pursuit is for yourself, and ultimately makes you happy.
Love that you really went in and set the mood of the video with your background! I definitely want to try and read some more dark academia books. Where would you recommend that someone start?
I think The Secret History by Donna Tartt is the book people usually point to as a good start. Otherwise, if you're looking for some good books that are simply dark, I would of course recommend The Picture of Dorian Gray. I think one day I'd like to make a video recommending more Dark Academia esque books!
Notre dame cathédral 😍 so sad what happened to it :( Have u read Notre dame de Paris? Apparently Victor Hugo wrote it to point toward the architectural significance of Notre dame. So cool. Hahaha and I love the reason behind why you love that painting. It’s completely true. Unless you’re like a celebrity or something, the truth is u don’t matter so most ppl really wouldn’t care, like you’re not that important so u just do u girl HAHAHAH love it I’m so bad at mandarin even though I should probably be good at it 😂 I really wanna learn Korean too, tho I am learning French in school rn... by choice... hahaha
But it's burned before and will be rebuilt, so we can hold on to that hope :-) A bit like a human being. I haven't, but it's absolutely on my TBR! Ah, thank you, and exactly! I forgot to mention, but I also love the painting because I love the poems that have been written about it by Auden and Williams. It's such a rich painting that just begs to be written about, you know? That's so cool that you're learning it now! Maybe one day we can learn Korean together
@@SipOfLatte What an elegant comparison :) Yes we all have to try to get back up on our feet :) Such a poignant situation when art inspires more art :') Makes me so happy. Yes we can! Babble or duolingo here we come hahah
