Menards 4.5 beta locomotives are growing interest in buying from menards i have the santafe 4.0 beta locomotive and just got the 4.5 beta locomotive and im really improved with each unit
I think they are a deal and it helps bring more people into the hobby. Some starting out don’t have a bunch of money, so these will help them get going and build their empire. Thanks for watching!
I agree but as long as everyone knows it’s not perfect and that there could be problems! I’m ok with providing feedback or making repairs or sending back! Thanks for watching!
They are hard to get your hands on, they sell out fast. Still beta locomotives but hopefully they will go into full production when they are done testing. My wife loves the candy cars and I like a little bit of it all. Thanks for watching Ray.
Awesome video! Great collection of trains. Of course, candy trains aren't prototypical, but super fun for kids and if that raises interest, we're good with that.
Thank you. Yes but the wife and the kids love the candy trains so that’s what will will get and hopefully it helps get them into the hobby. Thanks for watching!
@@ChrissTrainsandMore I chew gum when I drive. It's always been Doublemint. When I pick up any of our grandkids the first thing they do is go for the console for Doublemint. Now this goes WAY, Way back when I worked 3rd and I'd say good night to our kids. My #3 son would always say Good Night don't forget to bring Gum home!!! SO THE DOUBLEMINT CAR IS REALLY SPECIAL!!! And it's a Fantastic car!
I missed all of the previous beta models but I finally snagged this one. All of my engines but one (a Harry Potter engine) are old conventional models, so the Menards 4.5 is sort of a step up for me. I am looking forward to it.
Hey Chris, nice video! You do a very through job in your overview. I missed the first few of these but managed to get this one. Im glad you opened it up as I was going to do that as well just to see how they did inside but you saved me that task. Metal gears would have been a nice improvement but it does seem to pull my 10 cars including 2 cranes (one of them a heavy Burro crane) without any problems. The speed control without flywheels seems pretty good as well. Im not crazy about the chrome or the blue LED but for the price, I'll get used to it. I do have a classic post war Lionel 2343 with dummy and B unit inherited from my son in laws grandfather but I thought this Menards version of the classic would be a nice addition to my Diesel collection. Im in Delaware and I do wish there was a Menards closer so I could avoid their excessive shipping & extra fee charges. Thanks once again and maybe I'll catch up with you at the next York PA show.
I have a few menards boxcars NH Sooline V&O .I am happy with them. I just interested to see if they will do a steam locomotive. If they do I hope they do a mikado.
Looks like it runs well. Do you think they improved anything? I really like the way the Wrigley's car looks. Getting the auxiliary tender was a great Father's day gift.
I was blown away when I saw the tender!! What a gift!! The train runs great I think for the price it can’t be beat. I’m not sure what was different? The paint was better!! The horn needs some more help and the pulling power, along with maybe metal gears or if they put extra gears in every package. But that’s my 2 cents. Thanks for watching!
I'm a fan of Menards but not the locomotive. Like you said the kids love it but it's not for me.! Cool to see them running together though. I'll stick with Lionel smooooooth running.! Great review Chris.!👍Thanks 😊
Thank you for the kind words! I love all types of trains and I’m trying to help Menards with my review and comments. Hopefully they will bring more kids into the hobby !! Thanks for watching!!
It’s cool that these trains appear to be aimed at kids with graphics and colors. The only draw back for youth is price and delicate electronics/construction. I guess mom, dad or grandma, grandpa could assist. A lower cost convention design less electronics might help with targeted audience.
Yes if you like scale trains then they are toy like, my wife love the fantasy type of trains and I have to say they have grown on me too. The kids seem to love these type of trains! Thanks for watching
I could use the trucks to not be so shiny also. Most all new trains have plastic gears! That’s why I have to use synthetic oil for plastic gears like Slot cars
Menards is taking all of our criticism and every new release is reflecting our suggestions.
And, the use of LED lighting is right on.
Yes they seem to be listening to us and making each release better and better. Thanks for watching!

Menard's is the Marx train alternative in the 21st century.
Yes they are! Maybe even better with some of the ideas they come up with! Thanks for watching!
Like menards just as good if not better than atlas Bachmann and some Lionel o gauge locomotives
@@richardnelson-ux1zztrue
Cool! Glad Menards is developing their own locomotives 😊
Yes, and I hope they keep getting better!!
Awesome Bonnets!
Thank you!
It would be even better if Menards would just release the dang thing for the public to be able to get them.
I agree but as long as everyone knows it’s not perfect and that there could be problems! I’m ok with providing feedback or making repairs or sending back! Thanks for watching!
Neat i had no idea menards made engines , i thought just rolling stock .

I like what they’ve done with the remote now!
Make sure to email them with likes and dislikes. Thanks for watching!

They are all fun!
Thanks for sharing!! enjoyed the video!! I got my Doublemint yesterday
No problem thanks for watching! And I think the Doublemint was the best one!!
My wife love the starburst!!

They Run Good.
Yes I think they do too!

I missed the first couple also. I think you will be happy with this locomotive. Thanks for watching!
They need to make a way to use two powdered units with one remote
That’s a good suggestion, maybe they will do that down the road. Thanks for watching!
Great video Chris. I started to buy one and realized that I’d hardly run it so I passed. Looks like they did a great job. That was a nice run session.
Thanks Corey! I’m really happy how good it runs and I think the kids will love how it shines! Thanks for watching!

It would be awesome to see them make a steam locomotive!!! Thanks for watching!
Not to bad I’ll have to check on getting one lol be your fair also pretty cool thanks for sharing I just subscribed
Thank you for subscribing!! And thank you my wife loves the rides so we have picked up the ones we like!!

I have a 3.0 that seems to work about the same. Thanks
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I didn’t notice any big changes but the slowdown it acts like it has flywheels.
Thanks for watching!

Marx trains were proudly made in USA.
Yes I have a couple of Marx trains. Still running after all these years!
So we're Lionel until 2001
It’s cool that these trains appear to be aimed at kids with graphics and colors. The only draw back for youth is price and delicate electronics/construction. I guess mom, dad or grandma, grandpa could assist. A lower cost convention design less electronics might help with targeted audience.
That’s what I was thinking too, if you’re looking for a highly detailed scale train then these are not for you. Thanks for watching
Chris, how did you order the red dummy santa fe
It was available when they released the blue bonnet locomotive.
👍👌
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Can you double head these two engines
Yes! I just put them like this to run and see how they would do. Just like in the catalogs. Thanks for watching!
@@ChrissTrainsandMore .
I
I cant get into the Menards rolling stock or locos..All looks kind of toy-ish. Their buildings look good.

I only buy menards o gauge rolling stock and tubular track
The track is great and the price is better!
I can’ stand the shinny trucks and wheels on there trains. Plastic gears are trash !
