Your advice on daily practice is so bang on for any skill we want to master, or at least get better at. Watching the animation of the horse running is a fascinating bit of history and seeing how it leads to the computer ones are amazing. Anna makes her work seem simple and playful but it requires patience, skill and an artistic mind. I LOVED the toothbrush/floss walruses. (my hubby is a retired dentist). Wow Andrew on your gauge! Anyone close enough to find the mistake is waaaaaay to close. What a lovely playful episode. Thanks for all the cheerfulness. HUgs from afar.

I love your enthusiasm on your first huge crochet project. I have never ever swatched crochet let alone knitted projects. I believe in a past life I was a cat who only used one life and I have inherited all her other 8 lives and I am slowly working through them. I have only knitted and crocheted for 65 years! Stop motion and your interesting research preparing us for the amazing animation. I love Wallace and Gromit too. Thank you Anna for Moochimoochi Land.

Goddess that crochet blanket is seriously beautiful. That's makes crochet shobe in all its glory. I stopped crocheting because it was just so creative. It shows it's possibilities and how beautiful it can be. I didn't know all those stitches it how to read patterns. Makes me desire to make something that intricate. Thanks for showing that.

Andrew, I am so proud of you! The sweater front that was featured today is just beautiful! I am a slow knitter as well because I hate to have to 🐸. You are showing a lot of talent as well as your beautiful wife. Love those Russian designers....their work has that old world European look and style without being dowdy and that really appeals to me! Thanks again for all you do💚

Bravo on that amazing crochet blanket project! When you first announced that you were doing that project I was really impressed. At that time I did not realize that it was your first crochet project. I am blown away by how beautiful that pattern was. I've been crocheting off and on since I was nine and because of the size of the project alone, I would be reluctant to try. Now you've got me wanting to do try it, too. There's only one problem, I now live in Mexico and I seldom even pull a sheet over me because it is so hot. It would be nice to do it anyway, just because it is so pretty.

I have been checking everyday and at last your 101 episode is here. I have been enjoying so many episodes randomly, as they popped up. But then number 1 popped up and the last 2 days have been spent with you from 1 to 8. I see Andrew really does love his Marie Wallin jumper as he is wearing it again today.
I still have to check the crochet terms as I am never sure if is UK or US. I wish we could just stick to one. And the US actually makes more sense. I am Dutch and an Aussie so it took a lot to say US!

adored this and the story behind Mochimochi land and Anna. the narrative is as important as the end product and being able to use her 'product' in such varied ways in our contemporary world and using technology so well. I've been fascinated with stop motion animation too and used to use Flipagram to my advantage on my IG account sometimes. lately, I've been doing a short course on it so I've adored Mochimochi animations and it's true - it can be simple and so much can be said tacitly. Now and then, I know I'll have missed many posts on IG with the new algorithm, I'll go back and search MochiMochi Land just to get that little bonus moment of joy for the week. Lu P.S. had to laugh out loud at the dental hygiene animation hahahahaha and about gif or jig - you'll love this article in the New York Times. I love how words are pronounced so I've been fascinated by the journey that the gif has taken...I still don't know which is correct since you feel that if it's short for graphics that it should be the hard g but that's not how the creator really did design it. words are so much fun. bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/05/23/battle-over-gif-pronunciation-erupts/ .

Another great episode. Andrea, your blanket will be stunning and I hope you won't get to the end and think, "that's it, I'm done with crochet now". I think if you tackled a crochet garment you would maintain your interest in the craft as an equal partner to knitting, and perhaps you may be encouraged to look at more of Marie Wallins older crochet and crochet/knitting mixed designs. Also, great animation explanation Andrew. I find the Muybridge horse fascinating as it was proof that all four hooves did leave the ground when galloping. Also, have you watched Nudinits? Hilarious!

    • @FruityKnitting
      @FruityKnitting  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Russell. Glad you enjoyed the animation segment. I think I can recall cartoons which show horses galloping with all hooves off the ground and the legs extended - front legs in front and rear legs behind. Maybe that was a deliberate twist on reality just for fun, because they would have been made well after it had been understood. But these animators did do groundbreaking work in understanding biomechanics - both Maray, who did the seagull in flight, and Muybridge. Andrea has done at least one Marie Wallin project which had a little crochet on a mainly knitted garment, but no fully crocheted garments.

When you visit Utrecht, you should also visit Wollyhood! It’s my favorite yarnshop in Utrecht with the most beautiful handdyed yarn!

You should knit both sleeves together at the same time.

Hi Janet. I'm keeping track of the rows, and my record for gauge is pretty good, so I'm hoping I'll be ok. You might have seen that I did the pair of socks two at a time on a single needle, and I didn't enjoy it. I could use two cables and just work the two sleeves in sections. But I think I'll just risk doing them separately.

Andrew, check out claymation on the internet to see some really funny stop-motion animation. The raisin industry here in the US sponsored a lot of it in the late 1980s-early '90s.
Andrea, a knitter could make 1 or 2 of those little characters each month and end up with a very nice collection of Christmas ornaments.

I bought the cat in the box series as well as the log as I absolutely love Mochimochiland and have used her gifs.
I had to wait for my special treat to myself to arrive to begin Knitting the pussy cats 🐱. I ordered Symfonie dpns where you get 6 needles from sizes 2.00 to 3.25 in each set and so I can't blame my tools anymore I also bought the KnitPro interchangeably needles and cables presented in a case just for these beautiful colourful sharps. I supported my favourite wool and craft store Crumbz in Healesville Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 they didn't charge me for the delivery either.
Can you please tell me whose pattern you used for Andrew's jumper.
I am really enjoying seeing all those gorgeous jumpers you have inspired your viewers to knit throughout your earlier episodes will you be bringing that back again sometime soon.
I would love to support you further by donating $$ for one of the prices. Well that would exclude me wouldn't? Or not?
