@lauradorr6558 hopefully he will get more and more confident on each trip. It was such a scary accident it will take a moment. The cart pushes him around as it bounces over the rocks and keeping his footing can be a little challenging especially if we add slippery weed and fast flowing current to the mix so it will take him a minute.
@ahashdahnagila6884 not that huge. It's part of the local reserve, this is Marlborough New Zealand in the South Island, sadly we are over run by vineyards though most won't allow access to them but this one is on publicly owned land.
You are doing great with this beautiful pony. Your voice is calming to him and you both got through this scary moment together in fine shape. Don’t let the negative comments affect you in any way.
@deborahross4868 thank you so much for your lovely comments. We have worked so hard on being a team through many hours and many miles together and I do know he trusts me and that makes me happy. It was why I was so broken hearted when we had our accident, not for the damage to me, but for the fright he got. I do feel confident he will get his courage back as we built such a strong foundation together and he never even flinched when I put the cart back on him. Haters are always gonna hate sadly even when they don't truly understand what they are seeing or misconstrued what they saw.
To be honest, it wasn't a fear for me, it was for him. I am hoping he gets better and better though. We need to do lots more river runs, those are the scary places because the cart bouncing over all the river rocks shoves him around and makes it a little scary for him to get his balance. Problem is, those are those only access to water we have these days.
Thank you for your question. Sometimes it's because we need to evade off lead dogs, sometimes it's to get ahead of vehicles, sometimes it's because we have to remove ourselves from an area for any number of reasons but mostly it's for fun. Usually he takes very little encouragement to hoon but he was more cautious this day because this was retracing our accident trip for the first time so it was more his lack of confidence and normal fitness this day causing his hesitation as we aren't back in full work yet as I am still recovering.
You r cruel and need to be arrested for abuse of your equine you clearly whipping this poor pony over working the pony how you even sleep at nite or look in the mirror you need to be arrested for animal cruelty and go to prison
You obviously don't pay attention, if you look properly, I am not "whipping this poor pony", I'm cracking the whip (making noise and encourage) or hitting the ground the vast majority of the time, do you think he'd snuggle and cuddle me and work with me if I was indeed beating my pal or being cruel in any way to him? Perhaps if you wouldn't make an educated snap judgement, and simply be a keyboard warrior if you attempted to educate yourself more as my videos are intended to do. I am sorry you didn't enjoy it unlike others who have followed my videos do and found them either entertaining of a helpful resource, you are welcome to move on. My horse has a mentally, physically and nutritionally balanced life and is happy and healthy 90% of his days, can you say the same?
He looks more comfortable with each water passing, good boy!!

That is a huge vineyard!

Congratulations on facing your fears of the accident site. Things will get easier with time and the accident will be a distant memory.

Why are you asking him canter?
