Here is what one scout, who seemed really bullish on Herbert, said: If the Oregon kid had Alabama’s receivers or Oklahoma’s receivers or LSU’s receivers he’d be the best one. He had nobody helping him. He’s got a cannon arm. He runs 4.6. He’s smart as a whip. He’s not a dynamic leader, but remember, Troy Aikman was not a dynamic leader. I’m not saying this guy’s Troy Aikman, but there’s no difference in this guy and the guy at Duke (Daniel Jones) last year. In fact, this kid is a better athlete. He’s got everything, plus he’s a great kid. If you don’t like that damn quarterback at Oregon put the Rose Bowl on and the Pac-12 championship.
It's the silent aspect about Mr. Herbert. He get's the job accomplished. I've watched him grow up. He WANTS IT. One more thing -- I think he could have had a GREAT CAREER as a BASEBALL pitcher. ALL STATE OREGON HIGH SCHOOL.

As a Patriots fan. I’m thankful the Jets did not get Herbert. Herbert would be a serious problem for my Patriots. And now ya got Gerrett Wilson. Thank god he didn’t go to the Jets. Wilson is good. It going to take time but his good. I say give him 2-3 more season. Wilson will become a problem for my Patriots.
They weren't ready for the playoff yet. Rose Bowl was great. Getting destroyed in the playoff would have been bad. I guess there was a chance but our offense was pretty weak.

You know, the Pac 12 is kinda pitiful. Even the Big 12 can manage to get a team into the playoffs every year to get blown out embarrassingly, but the Pac 12 can't even do that!
I hope you are old enough to remember the early 2000s, when the SEC wasn't as dominant as it was and teams like Florida State, Oklahoma, Texas, and USC were dominating the sport..
ScoDucks2020 I actually love Oregon and have some good friends who are Ducks fans. I’m not saying Oregon is bad. I’m just saying the conference as a whole is not great. And I’m not saying it didn’t used to have great teams, but it just doesn’t produce those kind of powerhouses anymore. Meanwhile, the SEC has been to the national championship 13 out of the last 14 times. And Florida could definitely have played a stronger team that UVA. We went toe to toe with much better teams like LSU, Auburn (who we beat) and Georgia. Again, I totally respect Oregon and I was rooting for them all the way in the Rose Bowl. I just think the PAC 12 (and Big 12 and ACC while we’re at it) although they have some strong teams, don’t have a single current powerhouse out of the three (except Clemson) and are overall quite weak conferences.

I came back to watch this year after the Jets drafted Wilson . Herbert is 100 × better than Wilson .
