That 8RX is just a beautiful machine. Sure, there's bigger ones, but not any that are better looking. I'm 54 and retired. I'd come out there and drive that 8RX for you guys for free. So cool of AKRS to set you up with that demo.
When I grow up I want to buy a John Deere 4020 Diesel from AKRS........any model year is fine......they are gorgeous......Thanks for the videos........Amazing how good the 4020s are and they are fifty years old......AKRS will get my business because they are so good to Laura and Grant....
Always enjoy your videos. I am 73, probably in your Papa Kirk's age bracket, and I only have 20 acres, considerably less than your family. I now farm, for something to do, but I most definitely enjoy watching you, Grant, and both of your families, work that huge equipment. Here's wishing lots of success to your families.
Excellent job showcasing the tractor and grain cart. They should give it to you. But, Laura you’re going to have to let the hubby drive it at least one time. He looks like a little boy who’s dying to play with the latest toy.
Great video ! That equipment has to make the long day not as fatigueing for you. That equipment is truly incredible-as I am sure, is the price tag ! Thank you again for an informative video, your positivity and that absolutely beautiful smile ! You light up this world, and make my day have a great start.
Found your channel recently and have to say love it! Keep up the good work!! Still don’t know how u harvest all day and then still pump out the vids almost everyday!? 😲 I was helping with harvest last fall but not this year, kinda miss it although not the 16h days haha We were using the haulmaster which was a slick unit! I grew up in southern Manitoba and did not know that is where they were made! haha
I may have a solution to your heating issue for big sheds..it's called equal hall heating portable heater that moves around no venting...hope this helps.u guys keep up the great videos..spread alot of kindness❤
That clip of the semi spinning out is a good example for people who say "why do you even need grain carts, just run the semis to the combine!" Semis do very, very poorly when it starts getting schloppy wet. In places like where the Welkers farm it's possible because they practically live in a desert. Places where it rains? Not so much.
I live in Manitoba where they build them along with Mac Don headers and swathers and Versatile tractors. LOTS of huge grain farming in Western Canada so Elmer's definitely has a market. They just released a monster 2300 bushel version of that cart. I really enjoyed you showing how it floats over the field and how there is very little compaction. Had a Bobcat crush my lawn and it is no fun trying to fix that later so I know all about compaction.
The combine you took your Grandma in was a 7230, but your Dad was using an 8250 in this video. I don't understand anything about combines, but really enjoy watching your channel.
That 8RX has a nifty feature - the key can also act as a push button. If you just turn the key to start, then release it to run, the tractor will keep cranking until it starts like a modern car with a push button start.
There are two things that brighten my day. Laura's videos and farm equipment all shiny and new. Also, Laura looks so cute in a hoodie and Grant has one of the most endearing friendly smiles of anyone. Another great video.
This setup is really impressive. I would never have guessed that it handles with such ease. Monster Rig is how I see it. Thanks for the great detailed demo. You make a very special representative for all things farm related. Love ❤️ you, Grammy 😉
Just wait till John Deere comes out with their "Laura Farms" signature edition. Has Laura Farms right under the John Deere logo. Has mounts for camera shots. :-) Great video today folks. Have a fantabulous weekend!
When Laura presses that one button, it makes the same exact sound that the DeLorean time travel machine did in "Back To the Future" after Marty or Doc punched in the new go to date!
@@rodneyflohr3662 That's why techs need to keep on learning. This equipment will get only more and more hi-tech, and the techs who will survive this period of change will be the ones who aren't scared to open books, watch videos, or even take classes to learn about the new gear.
Great idea to distribute the weight of heavy equipment so that it doesn't compact the soil as much. Loose soil is healthier, allowing the microorganisms and worms to do their job of adding the nutrients back to the soil.
Laura ,,,just so you know,,,here in NC it is legal to feed or bait deer ,, last winter I fed my yard pets 4000 bucks in corn ,,and this is what would interest you most is what we pay for it ,,this fall it has been steady at ten dollars for a fifty pound bag but I’ve heard that it will go down ,,,last winter we paid eight dollars a fifty.
"Nothing Runs Like a Deere™" The day you filmed this episode was a good day. Great video of the 8RX. I know it comes in tracks up to 24" and even 30" wide!! What would be your favorite width of tracks on that beautiful tractor?
To me it looked like Laura was having way to much fun with that set-up to be called a farmer LOL.. All kidding aside that looked like the cats meow for retrieving grain from combine to truck. Seeing the shear joy on Laura's face when see talks about it is amazing, almost like see's talking about Grant. I really love seeing the both of you together, it re-affirms my faith in where our countries are headed. Take care of each other and be safe out in the fields.
Someone asked why do you use a grain cart instead of just unloading the combine into the truck? Would this truck being stuck not be at least part of the reason? Trucks are not meant to be run into wet field.
With all the debris in the field while doing corn, have you ever looked into stalk stompers to save wear on the tires from running them over the stalks?
John deer is on strike , lolol nice , thanks BigAl California, at least that’s what I seen on the news , good job beautiful lady, thanks BigAl California.praise Jesus grace Christ amen 🙏.
my dad had a JD 8450, 18.4-38" factory duals all the way around, liquid in the outers, cast in the inners... with full fuel, a 180-pound person, in a mens' size 10 boot, would compact the ground more than that tractor would... so unless your rig is REALLY heavy, compaction probably isn't an issue (but the front tracks might leave ruts when you turn, the contact patches look HUGE, even taking the lugs into account)
The soil compaction that is damaging isn't on the surface. Tracks are great at limiting the problem though. What worries me with the large machinery farms is once the land stops being worked.
If you're doing 6 gallons per hour in my pickup truck gets around 10 miles to the gallon on the highway and I would drive for an hour I would use 6 gallons wow that tractor seems efficient
🇳🇱Very nice but also very expensive tools to work with be proud that you can do this young lady greetings from Roosendaal in the Netherlands Hans.👍👍👍👍👍🍀
I've just started watching your content and overall, enjoy it quite a bit. But I must say, your definition of "stuck" and mine are worlds apart. That was hardly "temporarily detained"! LOL!
Just for grin and chuckles, my wife has the long hair problems, she take a tube sock and put the pony tail in it, and use a scrunchie to hold everything together, it looks funny but it beatswear ing a hoodie or hooded jacket in good, but breezy weather
Still not convinced on the hole right vs left side unload augur, never ran a right side so maybe one day when I do I will be like why we did not get one sooner. But l have never had a problem with unloading on the left side so I don't get why one would be better over the other.
Hi Laura. I love seeing the both of you working together, Grant does an excellent job filming and he got the truck out of the mud without needing a tow. It's amazing to see you driving that huge million dollar machine. Watching you is so much fun. Thanks.
Tracks are good and all but so many wear points, be idea to lease and just before rebuild time trade it for another new one. Just my thought on tracks.
1:52 There you go folks - for those who were wondering: that's exactly why you DON'T unload from the combine directly into a truck in the field. Instead, you unload into the auger cart / grain wagon and then into the truck.
Are those tracks the 16" or 18" wide on the tractor? I'm curious how they track in the ridge, does it track straight or seem like it wants to climb up out of the bottom of the ridge? I'm a fellow ridge tiller and am considering this tractor for planting and cultivating.
machinery-washing 101... START HIGH, WORK TOWARDS GROUND. 1) quick rinse with plain water, low pressure if possible. 2) soak with appropriate cleaning agent. 3) plain water rinse, medium pressure; repeat 2 & 3 as needed. 4) if you have the option, a final rinse with demineralized water (it's like softened water, only much purer) will prevent mineral spotting as the machine dries.

Wow! What a joy it must be to run that rig! Looking forward to seeing it in future videos!
John Deere found a really good spokesperson for their new awesome tractor (she even found things to highlight for Elmer’s HaulMaster lol!)
Loving every second of the farm life i hope you guys have a wonderful winter may it bring you joy and happiness
The grain cart is awesome. The right hand unload auger is a really nice to have. Laura you’re doing a awesome job on carrying on your family farm

Laura, you have an amazing young lady. Your enthusiasm is infectious. I'm trying to get caught up with your videos. Keep it up.😀

The 8rx makes every other tractor look like a peasant tractor
That one beautiful tractor 🚜
the 8RX is quite a beast !!!
We learned back in the 60's to never leave equipment in the fields overnight when it might rain.
I don't know, the cinched up hoodie is pretty darn cute!

Grammy, you're a star on this channel!
I'm thinking you need to ride with Laura in the 8RX, and check out that massage chair! :)

Nice camera work Grant, thanks for demoing the tractor and cart Laura!

Dang. These tractors look like frickin space ships on the inside. Super cool tech.

I like the right side discharge, makes sense.
