Agreed. This film gets grouped with the third one as being worse than the original but the whole Scott/principal relationship and especially the party scene makes this film as good as the first one for me
Yeah I agree this film was far superior to the 3rd one. That movie was just unnecessary. The first one is still my very favorite for nostalgia reasons plus I think it was the most well done. I loved how it showed Scott becoming Santa made him a much better father to Charlie as well as a better person overall. The 2nd film definitely did a nice job tying in a Mrs. Claus and how Scott brought happiness and fun to the school through the spirit of Christmas.
Scott did the same thing to Laura and Neil in the first movie The Santa Claus. Laura wanted Mystery date game:th-cam.com/video/UoU26icQx1E/w-d-xo.html Scott gave Laura the game: th-cam.com/video/UoU26icQx1E/w-d-xo.html Neil wanted a Weenie Whistle: th-cam.com/video/UoU26icQx1E/w-d-xo.html&t=4117 Scott gave Neil a Weenie Whistle: th-cam.com/video/UoU26icQx1E/w-d-xo.html&t=5684
This scene is so amazing!! I really love how Scott was willing to sacrifice most of the magic that would have got him back to the North Pole to help the staff regain there christmas spirits with those secret Santa gifts
When Carol said "Come here" it was a winning moment for Scott cause he knew he's going to get some. Scott and Carol's relationship was very beautiful and special. This is my favorite scene in the film. It was so beautiful when Scott gave Carol the Baby Doll and how she was struggling with her feelings. I love how he was observing carefully her reactions and waiting for her next move. He knew she wanted him just as much as he wanted her. The passion and heat between them was steamy. It's great to see this ethical and emotional dilemma with Carol regarding her feelings for Scott. She knew she shouldn't feel this way about him. There's always been the attraction between them but she tried to fight it, not only because of her job, but because of her loyalty to Charlie. She kept her feelings suppressed because she was afraid what others might think. But what she failed to realize is that the more she kept her feelings locked up the more difficult it became for her to control them. She knew that eventually she's going to give into them even when she didn't want to. She knew that it wasn't just forbidden but it was also unthinkable and irresponsible to get personally involved with a student's parent. But the same time it was exciting for her. Scott's actions hurt Carol deeply because he betrayed her trust by sleeping with her without telling her he's Santa. It's not that she didn't believe that he truly loved her, it's that she refused to believe that he COULD love her. Carol has always had a very low self-esteem. She tried to hate him for what he did because she was terrified of admitting her love for him. Scott is the only man Carol has ever been in love with. Scott really touched Carol's soul. He touched on her inner child and innocence that she locked away a long time ago. He reawakened her humanity. He saved her in every possible way.
I know, its such a beautiful funny movie. I love that im blessed to have the feeling of Christmas stay with me all year round. It never leaves me! lol The end when she finally gets to witness all of it is also great! Unfortunately no one will post the ending clip. Do post more awesome Christmas stuff plz and I will be back lol. Thnx again
My favorite clip of the movie. I actually had several of those toys. As well as the Mystery Date game from the first movie. Lived the game hands down and toss across...mouse trap was fun and loved kerplunk. I've been trying to remember the name of the game where they are balancing plastic washer like things...like a tight rope walker.. Can't remember the name of it. And I also had an easy bake oven...even though the one in the movie was a Holly hobby oven.
2002: "This is Toss Across!!! I used to love this when I was a kid but I never told anybody. Who did this?!" 2022: "It's a SEGA Genesis!! I used to have one of these when I was a kid but I never told anybody. Who did this?!"
As a middle-aged adult like most in this scene, I find this scene touching since we are all still kids inside imho... Despite what our bodies now say! lol
I can tell you the names of some of them. Rock'em sock'em robots, toss across, hands down, mouse trap, kerplunk, and there was one game there that I remember playing but I cannot remember the name of. And that's the one where they were balancing something and each player would put a plastic washer like item on one side trying to make it so that another player would tip over. I can't seem to remember the name. The oven was a Holly hobbie oven even though I never had one it does say it in the movie the toy of an I had as a child was an easy bake oven. I was never allowed to have the rock'em sock'em robots because that was a boy's toy according to my dad. In the movie The Santa Claus the first movie The Santa Claus the game mystery Date that Scott Calvin's ex-wife wanted as a child was a game I had as a child.
@@greeneyedredhead61 Oh yeah, I know all those you listed, I'm in the same boat as U trying 2 recall the name of the 1 U also didn't know. ;) My fave part was that 1 little lady getting the Holly Hobby oven, that was so cute - U could tell how much she had always wanted that - that was an item that every small girl back then wanted desperately, but from what I heard back then it was apparently both pricey & difficult 2 get due 2 demand. It was much cuter than the Betty Crocker Miniwave Oven because it was real cast iron & all dolled up like an actual old fashioned oven, even though I was a boy I still thought it was a cute idea (I'm an artist, & 2 this day I still think the original entire Holly Hobby concept was an excellent idea). ;) If I was in that crowd, I would have hoped 4 probably "Shoot Out In Space", which I had really wanted at the time ;) "With the Holly Hobby o-ven, it's fun 4 U 2 make tast-y pies... ...& a FROSTY CAKE, 2!" ;)
@@Long-HairedLuigi I used to have an easy bake oven. I enjoyed that. I also had the game called kerplunk. And that Topsy turvy balancing toy which I cannot remember the name of. I really like Hot Wheels even though I'm a girl and a baseball glove. I remember the rock'em sock'em robots but my dad wouldn't let me because that was a boy toy. Or maybe it was because it was you know fighting. I don't know the reason. I didn't play with Barbie's much but I did have one female Barbie and one boy Barbie which I guess is Ken. Now the only Barbies I have are collectibles. I also used to have a board game called masterpiece. I had totally forgotten about until a lady on one of the TH-cam channels I watch showed hers. That brought back such memories. And when I looked it up the price of those games are sky high I guess because they don't make them anymore so they're collectible. As much as I like the idea of having a game from my childhood my frugality would forbid me from spending $100 or whatever on a game. But something I also like to play with as a child was jacks. Do you remember those? You can still buy those real cheap.
This scene is the reason why The Santa Clause 2 is one of my favorites out of the trilogy.
I think the first one is the best
Agreed. This film gets grouped with the third one as being worse than the original but the whole Scott/principal relationship and especially the party scene makes this film as good as the first one for me
@@joevictor53 Plus unlike 3, at least this movie has a reason to exist as it kinda completes the North Pole cycle of a Mrs Clause

My ranking of the films
1. The Santa Clause 2 - 8/10
2. The Santa Clause (1994) - 7/10
3. The Santa Clause 3 - 5/10
This scene proves that even adults can be a big kid and enjoy the Christmas spirit!
They were all children again. That's the beauty of this scene.

So many years now, this genius scene still chokes me up. One of the most brilliant movie scenes ever.
This is the kind of Christmas I want as an adult is to get toys from our childhood and play and have a good time feeling like a kid again.
I fell in love with Elizabeth Mitchell the first time I saw this movie... thought she was just gorgeous. :)
Me too
Same here! 😍
How she said "come here" I love it it's the winning line that's when a guy knows hes won and is gonna get some 😁
Scott and Carol certainly had the most magical night they've ever had 😏❤
Most favorite scene ever! Classic games and toys are always the funniest!
The scene was pure genius.
I love when he gives her the baby doll! makes my heart melt
Doing this for my dad this year. Found an old game from his childhood on eBay that he loved.
So funny man

I want all those props! I would have loved to have been the prop master for that movie.
If this were done in modern times, they’d be toys and games from the 80’s and 90’s
Still cool stuff.
Yep...but those are all from my childhood...the late 60's and 70's. So great
Me: No! This is N64!! I used to love this when I was a kid. I never told anyone. Who did this?! Lol

Everybody was great
Thanks, I always loved this scene, very much. Santa's Magic✨🎅
I love this scene so much because Santa KNEW what they all wanted for Christmas when they were young. 🎄🎄❤️❤️
Scott Calvin gave all the presents to everyone and Principal Newman!

Someone bought be a Stretch Armstrong this year.
I bet if I was in that scene, the toy Scott Calvin/Santa Claus would give me would be a plush of one of the Care Bears
Guarantee you most of those guys would not open that collectable edition toys
Most likely they would keep it behind shelves
