      Many towns in the Hill Country were founded by German immigrants. Names were "Americanized" so English speakers could spell German names but kept the original pronunciation.

    Thanks for taking us along on that beautiful drive through Hill Country. That store and tavern in Leakey looks like the kind of place I'd like to visit while on a road trip.

    Hey Rusty, my observation: Americans tend to look at things as either/or . So often there is a place where you can do both.
    My advice is keep the house and when your feet get itchy, take a trip. Sticks’n bricks or rv… if you can afford it keep both!

    That is a cool little Texas hill country town! Really enjoyable ride along! So smart to have your escape camper at the ready with doubles and doing it all “at your own pace” 👌👍😉

    I’ve been riding my whole life but have to say you have to have some since. That area around Leaky is a area that lots of cyclists visit. They like the view,hills. In fact the Leaky Death ride is a favorite of many. And there has been some cases of Fokes losing it and running over groups . That road would be dangerous even if it had a wider shoulder. You can hit a pebble on a road bike it over that’s why they get out in the road. I’m surprised more don’t get ran over it’s a great view but you got to watch out for deer,other drivers and cyclists.

    I think you've got the right idea now Rusty. Keep some of most everything you need in the RV at all times. Then when you want to travel, just turn on the refrigerator, swing by the grocery store, and you're on the road again! Keep enjoying the travel as you like life, my friend.

    Rusty, would you consider going on a drive to Utopia, Texas? Uncle Sam sent me to San Antonio for two tours which totaled 5 years. Every time i got a day off I would ride my motorcycle around to different areas of south central Texas. On one of those occasions I wound up in Utopia on a Sunday. It was a cool place back in 1972. I also stopped for fuel one day in Luckenbach, long before the song by W&W. I would love to see how Utopia looks today. Nobody else previews a place like you do and i would appreciate hearing your take on the town. Thanks.

    A couple of weeks ago, I saw a Volt like yours charging at a Love’s truck stop on I-40 in the town of San Jon, NM. I didnt see you, so I am assuming it was one of your EV brethren. Googled cost to charge a Volt and info was about $3-5 dollars. Of course I Paid almost $5 a gallon a couple of times in Az and NV. Glad your getting the EV thing figured out.

  • @bb78729
    @bb78729 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Here's another question. How many kilowatts would one need to charge an electric vehicle say like the one you have there which is the electric volt to LT if the battery level is at zero percent? And if the battery is at 50% capacity, how many kilowatts would you need to charge it to full?

    Self driving car makes assessment.
    Hit car head on?
    Hit bicycle?
    Bicycle may be large bug.
    Hit large bug.
    I can't understand the mind set of a bicyclist that would ride on that road.

  • @bb78729
    @bb78729 ปีที่แล้ว

    So how many kilowatts are equivalent to the cost of 1 gallon of gas? At 40 cents a kilowatt?
