No talking, just walking. Exploring the English Countryside. A nice gentle walk around Knypersley Reservoir, past the Warden's Tower and to Gawton's Well. The weather is fairly miserable yet actually enjoyable to walk in, not cold! First proper recorded walk in the rain, and was easy to keep the equipment dry under the umbrella. Must say I really enjoy the sounds of walking in the rain, and that the pocket2 picks up the ambient sounds nicely!

Hi there, I‘m Dave! I've lived in the English Countryside all my life, and I love it! I enjoy walking, and couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful the UK can be away from the cities. I use the free version of Davinci Resolve 16 to do some really basic editing. Mainly making sure the sky isn't over exposed. It's from Camera straight to TH-cam. No cuts, no fancy business, no talking, just walking.

Thank you! Conditions weren't too problematic, was quite enjoyable to walk and film, wasn't cold at all and I stayed very dry!

Thanks Dave, this looks good after a few videos of walking in the snow. Kynpersley .. funny name. And the Warden's tower .. a gamekeepers tower or something?
It is an unusual name, it is pronounced n-eye-persley. As for the tower, found this on wiki: "Alternatively known as Knypersley Tower and Warder's Tower, this is a gamekeeper's cottage in the form of a miniature castle of red sandstone built in 1828/9. It overlooks the eastern shore of Knypersley reservoir to the west and had a commanding position over the steep slope down to the Head of Trent leat to the east. The Harrison family lived in the Lodge in the 1830s and it was still occupied into the 20th century." So you was right about it being a gamekeeper's tower. Seems I am wrong in calling it wardens tower, I shall amend it. 😊

Haha, Vodka is certainly tempting these days. But I am far more inclined to buy Baileys and put it in my coffee! Gives me a nice spring in my step on these hard frosty mornings! Glad you enjoy the content and it was a big thing I wanted to just have the real sounds of the environment!

Glad you are enjoying the videos Hellie! It isn't rolling thunder unfortunately although I do love being out in a storm, (there's some good thunder in next weeks walk) the sound is how the microphone picks up strong wind.
i thought it might be the wind, but the trees and bushes seemed quite still. i’m going to keep thinking of it as rolling thunder!

So many people complain about the rain there. Is it really that bad? Which season is the worst?
Hmm for me i think Winter is the worst of the seasons, not necessarily because of the cold wet weather, but because all the colours just become so dull. Jan Feb and March is just difficult to film in. I was fortunate with this walk. But i much prefer Vibrant bright greens and all the colours of flowers ect.
It's really not as bad as people make it out to be.

Until you take a bit of the 'green stuff', then this becomes mesmerising!
With no background music or narration, just the sounds of the rain in the forest!
