One important point is left out. Late Mr.Suisa the then Member of Parliament (Outer const.) during Nehru Premiership had advised the meiteis to opt for ST\SC but he was abused saying"we are not low class how Hao abang can dare to advice us". Now just see whats happening....

Meitei kingdom is 700sq km and they have to pay tax to kuki chief if they wanted to settle in kuki hills.
I am from arunachal..... I feel same as kuki people are feel now...... I am also tribal... If majority control whole system we will be cleanse....... I have fear of centre govt as well.....

It's true and also true that it's embarassing to learn that some rich meitei guys are poppy cartel, they employ poor tribals with promise of paying enough dividends. Though poppy land is on tribal land, the main culprit is meitei who started poppy cultivation. These meitei guys from Burma should be banned from coming to hill areas.

I condemned strongly the attitude of the Manipur Govt. headed by I.O.Singh (C) and N.Biren Sing (BJP) for taking initiatives for ethnic cleansing to takeover the hills district. As far as my knowledge is concerned, the Professor had mistakenly stated the killings of 9 Zo-ethnic people to Congress Regime and allocation of funds for Hills Districts below 45 Crores only to Hills Districts out of Rs.7000 Crores of the total Budget of Manipur in his closing statement of disparity of budget allocation. But overall, we now are enlightened with the chronology of the origin, cause and problems faced by the indigenious people of Manipur. The ball is in the hands of the Central Govt. Maybe, they should declare a President Rule in the State.

Very informative..., Everyone should know the truth..., The tribals in Manipur are not illegal immigrants, they are the indigenous people and ruler of the hills in Manipur.

Professor gi lecture taaba yam nungaire. It is an eye opener and a lot of history explained unknown to many. It is no surprise that the ruling party is a jinx and always have agenda to divide the society based on religion and Hindutva. I do not subscribe to the idea of Hindutva which comes attached with discrimination to other groups following different faiths.
I personally wish the people of the hills districts get their rightful share and allocation of funds and infrastructure and developments for their overall well beings. If the different communities hereby fail to cohabit together then they should once and for all annihilate each other and destroy their homeland, and let a new chapter be started from zero.

Prof. J. Doungal, as a revered scholar, should present an unbiased statement regarding the tribal solidarity march on May 3, 2023. Because the violence erupted only in the Churachandpur district, and not in other tribal districts where the march was peacefully conducted.
There is no evidence till now, that 2000 members of Meitei Lipun or Arambai Tengol stop and confronted the march in the Churachanpur district. In a kuki-dominated district like Churachandpur district, no civil society organizations or any groups belonging to minority communities in that area will dare to do such kind of acts.
After all, please promulgate peace. India is a democracy, please ask and get your demands through constitutional institutions and processes. Leave violent acts. This is my message to all the communities residing in the state.

Prof J. Doungel is not a reserved category Professor. He got his present faculty position from unreserved/open category in a highly competitive recruitment. He is also a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow who did further research in University of Cincincinnati,Ohio State,USA in 2021 and he is specialised in tribal and indigenous study. He is an authority in Sixth Schedule and Autonomous District Council who is credited with many high research publications in reputed journals and he also published a number of books.
