    Healing times can feel like forever, but it's worth taking the time and not pushing because your weary of the inconvenience. I always find the moment I'm told not to do something, it's the very thing I want to do. You've become very knowledgeable about what you need to do, so you'll be find. My friend recently fell down a flight of stairs and broke both arms. Please be careful. Enjoy your visit with your sister.

    Thanks for all your info regarding your surgery and rehab. I’m having a shoulder issue and hope I don’t have to have surgery but will really appreciate your insight if I do. Hope the remainder of your recovery is problem free.

    Thanks for this great video. I am 3 days from my 4 week post op. Carrying too much in my surger6side is always a challenge for me. Looking forward to your other videos.

    Thanks for your very informative video and report concerning re-tears, and I'm so glad that you have recovered well. I'm going on 9 weeks post op surgery for a 3 full thickness tears of the subscapularis, supraspinatus, and infraspinatus tendons and doing well for nearing 71 in a few more weeks. I'm going to Physical Therapy 2 days a week and it's getting a bit more difficult but tolerable, but I'm concerned about re-tears. I know exactly what you are saying about people who are not experiencing any discomfort or pain tend to get a little overconfident and forget exactly what their safe limitations should be, no pushing, pulling, holding anything heavier than a coffee cup. It was 2 months between my injury until my surgery date but I still stayed pretty active but overprotective of my injuries by keeping my upper arm straight down tight against my body while I continued to have full use of my lower arm comfortably (elbow to hand) with up-down-left-and right movements without and pain or fear of further injuries and that's basically how I survived then, and up to this point even now. I'm gradually introducing some light upper arm movement use when I'm home, while my physical therapy sessions range of motion exercises are safely being monitored until my Doctor says that I can move up to more increased heavier shoulder use on my own.

    Thanks for sharing your experience. I was worried abt my shoulder. After doing research, I believe it's called an impingement so I see PT next wk.
    I appreciate you being here !

    I had rotator cuff surgery, but not bicep surgery. They're both pinned in your bone area, meaning no tissues are fusing inside at that site. After about 10 weeks healing and P.T., when I went for my follow up, I asked my surgeon if there was any restrictions. He said no. Just take things really slow and easy, as your body feels able. Obviously follow your own surgeons advice. Looks like you're doing great

    Thanks for these videos, Just found you today. Will be going down this road in about a month. I appreciate the cautionary tale of not to overdue/rush it. Something with my mentality I have to be aware of, pushing before I should. Thanks and regards

      Good luck with your surgery. Definitely take a pause before you do something you know you shouldn’t as ask yourself “ is it worth having to go through this again”

    I’m at 5 weeks exactly today. I’m at the same point in my recovery as you are in this video. Between the PT I do every day and taking the sling off, I find myself taking Tylenol Extra again at least once a day or night.
    I did reach for my coffee a few times and also played the guitar yesterday. The shoulder has become a little more painful (not much) also at the bicep muscle. I’ve been massaging it, too.
    I’m going to make a conscious effort to relax my shoulder more and use the sling as directed.
    I don’t think I’m risking tearing something, but I’m going forward with extreme caution.
    Thanks for making me feel like I’m right on track with my recovery and healing!! ❤️❤️

    Hi, Thanks for the video. I am scheduled at the end of June. I am 65 and got tear gradually. No fall no trama .Supersnatus full thickness tear. One doctor said 50 % tear one said 100% tear. My range of motion is terrible. Decided to have surgery. I wonder how can you travel with your injured arm?

    • @LisaMonique
      @LisaMonique  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did a month of traveling prior to surgery, unfortunately it gave me the frozen shoulder. After, it’s pretty simple in the sling. People help put on planes with luggage when you have it on.

      @@LisaMonique I just traveled back from Japan. Like you did, I put sling on and ordered a wheelchair,because I also had ankle surgery a year ago. Walking in the airport is too long for me.

    I am 8 weeks and move like maybe 5weeks. I feel the PT pace is too fast. How do I get them to give me more time between phases?

    • @LisaMonique
      @LisaMonique  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you expressed your concerns to your PT? Otherwise I think if you just scheduled your PT appointment a little further apart you could still do the same at-home exercises in between. Of course you need to be doing the at-home exercises because you don’t want to lose all the stretching and strengthening if you only do the work while at physical therapy. Then you may never get your full range of motion back.

    • @kathysavage2548
      @kathysavage2548 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @LisaMonique I do my exercises at home every day. I guess I just I'm progressing slowly. The PT guidelines feels like pressure 😪. Thanks for responding !

      @@kathysavage2548 Everyone has a different recovery rate, don't fret if yours is a little slower, better slower and safe than push to hard and re-injure!

    Were you sleeping in the recliner all this time?

    • @LisaMonique
      @LisaMonique  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For the first six weeks I would say I spent four weeks in the recliner. But it was not consistent so I will try for five days in the recliner and then I would not be super comfortable and then I would go to the bed with a ton of pillows propping me up and try that for two or three days and then I would go back to the recliner… it’s not that I was in pain while I was sleeping I just wasn’t “comfortable“

      @@LisaMonique We're you ever concerned that you would roll over in your sleep and do damage to the surgical arm?

    • @SaabAholic
      @SaabAholic 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@PBAB17 good question. I’m right at 5 weeks now and somehow I have never tried to roll over on my repaired right shoulder. I do wake up every single time I roll to my left side though.
