- In today’s episode of Throwback Thursday we complete the 1982 trilogy by opening 1982 Fleer. We had already found Cal Ripken’s Rookie Card in 1982 Topps and Donruss. Now Fleer is up.

With this video, BBCE should have no problem refunding your money on the box that contained the 1981 pack. This puts into question a lot about their authenticating practices in my opinion.

19:12 is the 1981 pack for encase someone is wondering. For sure tampered with. Not the first time I have heard BBCE selling questionable boxes. People think they are everything when it comes to vintage boxes. I'm

I think BBCE has some explaining to do! You pay a healthy premium to get boxes with no BS like that.

The odd 81 Fleer pack in a certified 82 box makes both boxes suspect to being tampered with or being searched.

I think the no sticker in one pack and two in the next is a sloppy re-sealer , not a factory error.
Agreed. Those boxes were searched. BB Card Exchange needs to refund at least half the purchase price on that. The 81 Pack alone nullifies the first box
I completely agree. The ‘81 pack, the double sticker and then in the last few packs there were two that looked absolutely to have been poorly re-sealed.
Totally. Both boxes had huge red flags of being searched. The 1st one should 100% be refunded just for the '81 Fleer pack, can't get more obvious than that. The 2nd one with the sticker screw up and I think a lof of those packed looked badly resealed. You have to wonder what BBCE even does beside wrap a box in celo and upcharge it.
I love your Throwback Thursday series because I get to watch packs from before I was born be opened. Opened my first ever wax box last week (1989 Bowman) and pulled 3 Ken Griffey Jr. rookie cards!
BB Card Exchange owes you a refund on that first box. Video doesn't lie. The second box was half searched, I think

I recently purchased two unauthenticated boxes of 1982 Donruss for $114.35. Got two Ripkens.
I got a sick feeling in my stomach when you said "why is there gum in this pack?" Lol.
Sad break. I seriously think those 2 boxes was tampered with in the past 5 years.

Shaka's closet i dont think the card companys do that. mlb would sue the crap out of them if they tried to pass off a fake auto for a real one. but i agree about whos authenticating stuff that is obviously has been tampered with. the question is was is the authentication company that missed it or is it a conspiracy for both the authentication company and the seller to make greater profits. i know what i think😒

Multiple packs also contained 16 cards when there supposed to have 15 .. definitely tampered with

If you assume one Cal per box on average, someone could easily had 4 boxes and opened packs until they found Cal. Take the rest of the packs from the box and make 2 "new" boxes and resell them.

I feel bad you didn't get the Cal but something was strange with that first box. I would go back and complain where you purchased. You have on video so the authentic box may have been searched.

I have to wonder if that lone 81' pack that "Snuck " in was cause it really was searched or something cause 2 boxes and nothing is kind of strange. However good throwback even if you struck out on the Cal card.

I'm getting ready to build that 2019 topps 150 Ann of Baseball binder set I pulled all base cards from series 2 but I still need a few more base cards to finish the base part of this set then; I hunt for the insert sets.
how the 81 pack gets in a 82 box is because many boxes are made up of loose packs. what happens many time is the fresh boxes the packs get opened and when the big hit card gets hit, they stop opening the remaining packs. thats why getting an unopened box from a sealed case is important on expensive unopened material. i would put a complaint to BBCE about discovery the 81 pack though. they'll probably give you something in return.

I have been considering buying just under $400 worth of authenticated boxes from BBCE. After seeing this video, I emptied my cart. I will never buy from them. You pay a premium for nothing. No thanks.

Wow no cal from 2 boxes
Some packs had all cards in same direction others half one way and half another. Is this normal for 82 fleer? Thought that was strange.

Early f leer are easy to reseal, just have to use a iron on low setting to heat up wax and reseal. Also early donruss is the same.

The pack with the Ripken RC was taken out and replaced with a 1981 pack. Hard not to think that was the case. I almost purchased a 1982 fleer set at an auction. Looked for the Ripken & it wasnt there. Theres a lot of this going on.

I know it's not a %100 baseball but, have you thought of doing a 2019 upperdeck Goodwin break? I just saw them on Ebay, may be something to think about? It's got a lot of cut autos and some really cool historical cards.

I know Topps is king, but sometime I see some sweet Fleer cards from this era.
The Lee Smith corrected rookie card is worth considerably more than the error. They corrected it late in the year. There's alot more error versions than corrected versions.
How much more $ does BBCE charge per box to "authenticate?"
I suspect tampering. That 81 pack was extremely suspicious...enough to cast doubt on the integrity of these boxes. Makes me think someone searched all the Ripkens in the box. I hope that's not the case. Did you ever follow up with the BBCE with this vid? Thanks for posting.
Running out of spacers is a good thing. Just means you are not getting dupped as much on packs

You can search packs all through old cases, just by knowing the trigger Cards for the Cal Ripken Jr. Just pull back the wrapper far enough to see the back card, then reseal it or if you can see through wrapper itself. bbcexchange owes you a refund!

The problem with Baseball exchange is like with any large sports card company they don't have hobby boxes you want. I went to the exchange they don't have any 1996 topps. I don't know why they don't keep a vault with those hard to find but like Dave & Adams mind set if it doesn't sell don't keep it.

I remember getting a box of these in the spring of 82 and and there was all crap inside mine like this except i got a Fernando and 3 Tim Raines cards but no Ripken or even a Rickey Henderson..I always thought these were horrible cards

How come 1982 Fleer had all those really fuzzy pictures not to mention that really weird Jack Morris pic (at least the backs were done very nicely)? As for the 1981 Fleer pack, and I can't believe no one is asking this...would it really be all that inconceivable that Fleer goofed and a leftover 1981 pack got in there?
