When things get flooded in spring I hit the creeks, and the rivers that come off of the James river like the chickahominy, but more so in really good creeks like Upham brook creek that is part of the chickahominy runoff. Living in Virginia I have access to any kind of fishing you want with in an hour drive or a little over an hour.
Never fished in Virginia. Been up there a few times. Looks like it’s going to storm up there. A lot of lakes down here are releasing water, as soon as they stop releasing our creeks turn into gar filled stagnant water. Lots of mosquitoes 🦟
@@Bryan_Outdoors we have mosquitoes as well. But I have only caught 4 bass and a lot of big sunfish. Haven't caught any gar. The creek I fish out of doesn't dry up it looks more like a small river and feeds off the chickahominy River and ends up as a lake in a Golf course. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah the weather here is what ever happens. 😂. It use to be predictable but thanks to the government they seem to have control over it all now. Over the 50 plus years I’ve been alive I never thought I would ever see the country the way it is. But good luck with those fish. 😂
2 miles N of lake Lewisville in the Trinity River. It’s accessible from HW 380 on trails. It’s August. I wouldn’t bother fishing it now. Between the snakes, mosquitoes and the heat…gonna be a rough trip.
Really! Fished it lately? I haven’t been in a while, I’m afraid the mosquitoes will carry me off or I find a snake. Pretty rough down there this time of year.

I usually pick okra and fresh fish but fries sound good for a change. All my remaining carcasses go back in the garden.
