Was Werner Kok hit very high just before Munster's winning try? Only saw the briefest of replays but the commentators did seem to think so (in Irish admittedly) when that replay was shown.
@@peadarrhahahahah TMO is a notoriously bad ref who makes shocking decisions and there are loads of images and clips showing he nearly took his head off, but yea ok Peadar
You could actually hear one of the pundits in the background shout, that was 100% shoulder on head. I'm not saying it absolutely was but it certainly looked like it was dodgy.
Thought the quality was pretty poor from both teams but in different areas. Munster could not get their hands on the ball without hemorrhaging silly penalties, but when they did get the ball they had 0 issues ripping through the soggy tissue paper defense Ulster were attempting to block them with. You'd almost be afraid for Ulster to score because it means a re-start and Munster might actually get a chance to hold the ball.
You can see what Munster are doing now! Defend like animals and counter attack with nice handling! Leamy defence Prendergast attack..If Munster had Taigh Beirne, Edwin Adogbo peter O Mahony craig Casey Jean Klein and others back they will be very good!
Almost switched off dreadful first half. Thank goodness it perked up in the second half. I know Farrell got three tries but for me the best player on the pitch was Werner Kok. After Ulster went a man down he was everywhere, a very good performance.
As a Munster fan,how the **** did we win this? We played bad but just about pulled it off. Ulster are a good team but christ they were so narrow and one dimensional today. Nank and Ward injuries is sad to see.
We won because our defense was able to stop them scoring from 3-4 line outs in a row & every time Ulster would score we scored back.. Ulster looked a lot more fatigued than us as well in the 2nd half & that's probably because they were down to 14 men for 3/4 of the game. Munster were lucky to win imo but atleast we did it 🤷♂️ losing to Leinster next Friday won't feel so bad...
Some times you don't want to talk about refs but damn Whitehouse was not up to the standard that's needed some shocking poor and very inconsistent officiating...
@@TwoCentsRugbythat's true but as someone that had no skin in this game and simply watching it as a neutral he was extremely easy on one side and should have given at least 3 cards I'd hate to see what the pen count for Munster was like in their 22 as it was racking up gotta ask yourself would Munster have had the numbers to score that try at the end if they’d have had a player in the bin also there was a very suspicious hit on Kok before the try that should have been a pen but wasn’t brought back

Neutral here. I genuinely do not like that red card. To me, the only reason it was looked at was due to the injury. He's fallen on another player, not targeted the limb. Targeting the limb = red for sure, but that's not what happened. He's got a red because of where he landed. Is that the rule now? Fwiw, yeah, that was a struggle of a game, and the ref not dishing out yellows to Munster was glaringly weird, but Ulster playing too narrow and failing to convert opportunities isn't a surprise. Big Munster defensive shift was very impressive tho
Gotta disagree, mate. The player came in from the side of the ruck and the bulk of his weight was aimed at the limbs with an arm thrown over the back as a 'get-out-of-jail-free' - simply put, his tackle was aimed past the point where he should be making contact. It was reckless and dangerous. We saw Frizell land on Mbonambi in the RWC final from almost a static start and Bongi was out for four months - it's easy to imagine serious injury potential in the type of impact we saw in this case and the fact that it didn't end in career / season ending injury is not mitigation.
@Karma-qt4ji I just watched it again multiple times. I stand by previous comment. He's illegal for coming in the side and not retaining his feet. I completely disagree that he's targeting a limb. It's a rugby incident. Fwiw I disagreed with frizzells card in the rwc final as welll
The first half was a real war of attrition and in the second it opened up slightly. I feel a bit sorry for Ulster because they kept at it all game but Munster had a bit more cutting edge so fair play to them. Very watchable game as a neutral.
@@TwoCentsRugbyLeinster v Connacht interpro might be a juicy one tomorrow. Leinster fielding an experimental squad and Connacht nearly full strength, they'll definitely fancy a pop.
Crowley's kicking is a disaster. He needs to spend hours in practice. Not enough heft in that pack, more passengers in that Munster pack than in 2 Titanics.
Give him a break, they weren’t easy ones, all out on the touch line except the one he made. Two of the tries wouldn’t happened if he wasn’t such a running threat himself drawings in multiple defenders
From a purely Munster perspective, one of either Klien and Edwin Edogbo are badly needed the row (we were missing a piano shifter). I hate the phrase ruck accuracy. We’re not getting to rucks quickly enough and clearing the with enough force. Brian Gleeson is beginning to find himself. I’d like to see Sean Edogbo get some time. He reminds me of Coombes when he was young and is a great lineout option. EoC is impressive. He a bigger man than I thought.
There’s no doubt about it but Jack Crowley is certainly not having an inform couple of months. He’s a quality outhalf when in form but ever since the summer tour in South Africa he’s just been having a dreadful time for both Munster & Ireland. For a young outhalf that had a great year last year, taking over from the retired Sexton, he’s just not been able to find good form this year. Eith the emergence of Sam Prendergast at Leinster who’s having the opposite affect, who’s been outstanding, maybe this extra pressure is getting into Crowleys head. I’m not sure but he’s constantly showing simple errors like kicking and passing. Something an outhalf should have perfected.
It was a quite meh first half but a crazy second half. I did predict a tight win for Munster. They seem to be doing exactly what they did when they became champions against Stormers. An awful start to the season and then they just keep winning. The red card against Ulster was very harsh indeed. I don't think he dropped his full weight on the leg and it was a leg that suddenly stuck out in front of him. However, I had a feeling during the game that Munster would win this with or without the Ulster red. They're on a mission. I'll be worried when they play Leinster again.
I think Munster probably should have conceded one more yellow card just for the sheer no of pens conceded. At the same time, can't help but feel like Ulster really mismanaged that game. They left so many kickable points out there which Cooney would've easily slotted. Now that being held up results in a drop out you have to be really clinical when things slow down five meters out and Ulster just weren't. Feel like a narrow win would've done more for their confidence than scoring more tries.
Not sure why Ulster never went wide and used their backs. Their forwards were hammering our boys on the line and just kept doing the same thing over and over. Very interesting game, right down to the wire. Fair dues to Ulster, down to 14 men but mostly used 8
Was out at my office Christmas party so didn't see it properly but from what i saw Munster were pretty poor, didn't deserve to win but I'll take it. Happy Christmas to you and the family
We was robbed. I know I'm biased, but that was a terrible refereeing performance. Munster's defence was certainly very effective, but if there's no cost to giving away goal line penalties there's no incentive not to defend illegally. They also persistently lay on the wrong side of the ball at the breakdown and were never called for it. After one tackle in the first half, there was still a guy lying on the wrong side of the ball from the previous tackle. Munster's first try came after they knocked the ball on and the ref played advantage and didn't call it back when there was none, and their last try involved a forward pass. And O'Toole's red card was very harsh. Our backs continue to drop like flies. On the positive side, academy lad (and head coach's son) Jack Murphy came on and gave the most assured performance at 10 that we've seen this season. Nepotism be damned, I'd like to see him start against Connacht. The regulars don't look like turning this season around, we need to start blooding more youngsters.
Possibly it is just that I am aware of the Ulster injuries, and other sides have just as bad issues, but we do seem to have terrible problems with players getting crocked going back ages now.
@@johnmurray2995 Munster also have a very long injury list, but I think their injuries are mainly in the forwards. Even their medical joker South African prop, Dian Bleuler, is injured.
