Another great video Ryan! That pump looks like it'll help Damo's dad quite a bit, very kind of you. And thanks for talking about the heat! I lived in Vietnam for a few years and I eventually grew to enjoy the heat quite a bit. I've been back in Canada for a few years now, and I'm officially done with cold weather. I am planning on making my way back to SEAsia, specifically Thailand, in the next year or so. I hope my memories of enjoying the heat are accurate :) I'll send good vibes to your plants to help them get through the heat. Much love to you and the family 🥰

Good vlog Ryan. I was in Cambodia a few years ago and visited both the killing fields and Tuol Sleng the school where a lot of torture and killing happened. Cambodia was called Kampuchea back then. I have lived in Australia for quite a number of years so I know all about the heat you are going through but not so much the humidity you get in Thailand. Keep up the good work.

Same issues here in Australia. I have worked in the mines here in the north west. It's not unusual for the temperature to hit 50c plus in the summer. It's a dry heat mostly but hard too get used to. Thailand is more humid which in its self is hard to take but it's just a few months to suffer. I have tried to save my plants in the summer here but it's just too hot and dry. You can try shade but it will only help a little. The inflatable pool is brilliant and a life saver in the heat. Enjoy the rain when it comes, all the best
Great that you mentioned about the heat and how it makes us lazy out here.....I thought it was me just being lazy at this time..... before in the cooler months, I would walk in the mornings and busy around the house, now it's totally changed...
Because avocado roots grow near the surface of the soil, mulch also helps trees manage heat by keeping the soil (and roots) cool. Cover crops also can aid in keeping groves cool. The cover crop can prevent water runoff, improve water retention in the soil, lower the air temperature in the grove and keep the soil cool. Wilting can be a sign of root problem and is also associated with excessing sun and heat. When you combine the two issues, it does point to environmental stresses. High temperatures above 90 degrees on young trees and plants can initiate wilting. How do I protect my avocado from the sun? Put on sunscreen. For avocados, Coppertone will not do. But white latex paint will. It doesn't need to be full strength: diluting the paint 50/50 with water will make a sufficiently opaque coating. Fortunately, avocado trees can thrive in heat well above 75 degrees as long as they're watered sufficiently. But there does come a point on the thermometer at which an avocado tree suffers regardless of how much moisture is in the soil. Apparently, above roughly 90 degrees avocado trees begin to function poorly. Avocado plants are best grown in containers in a warm, bright spot indoors. They can also be grown in a heated greenhouse. Move plants into lower light conditions or position shade cloth above them. Increase watering frequency slightly and water during the coolest parts of the day. Dark burns will not disappear, but burnt leaves will eventually fall off to be replaced with new growth.
I am one of those cool weather warriors that you spoke about. These 3 months are just too hot this year.I would normally have a month in Thailand at our Easter/songkran.But this years extreme heat has put me off..
I have been living in Thailand since 2009 in Bangkok. The trick for me with the heat is to be careful and mindful of the amount of time you are exposed to it. There are plenty of opportunities downtown to 'take a break' in air-conditioning and you must utilize them. Don't go to places where you can't take breaks out of the heat. Yeah, out in the countryside the pools seem like a good idea but the A/C is the best so good to get a 2nd one.

I hope to return to the farm on the 9th of April. We are 100% off grid with solar and batteries. But since the new guest cottage was completed last week, the current system isn't keeping up with the increased demands. We have no a/c only fans. Agreed Ryan 🔥! We had a saying in Canada in the summer when the mercury would reach close to 30C saying it's Africa Hot! To hell with Africa hot...how about Thailand Hot! , my first full summer here, and yes don't think of doing much of anything in the afternoon! Good vlog, and the crystal on those buds at the end..wow!😅 Chok dee!
We spend the day under the house in hammocks and swing chairs, no such luxuries as air-con.😂 Then venture out at about 5.00 to do the chores. We live near Ko Lanta, so the main crops are rubber and palm oil, so luckily no crop burning, the down side is no views, everywhere just trees. On balance, it's still better than living in UK though.
Love your video ,agree with you about Cambodia it’s happening we live in a wonderful world, my god some people do you crazy thing, and we don’t seem to learn from other people to mistakes, we say o terrible we still physically don’t do anything to stop these things happening time and time again. I don’t know what the answer is.
🥵 I'm watching this in the morning while sitting a few feet from my fan downstairs. I'm across the border from you in Surin and a few days ago started going into an air conditioned room in the afternoon for a couple hours until market time everyday. I grew up with heat in south Texas and now that I am older it really wears me down. Looking forward to clouds and light rain. 😂
Hi guys 👋 I've been watching you all for about 1 year I love your videos such a great job you both do I watch my TH-cam on my television so You can't really comment unless I grab my phone. Lol Anyway. Your children are beautiful. Otis is such a cutie. Anyway, I was going to say air conditioners and especially air purifiers need to have the door closed your front door. If you're trying to make the air clean, you need to shut your bedroom door most of the time or leave your front door closed You're just defeating the purpose and making the unit work harder than it should with the front door open. My dad sold these type of units .. anyway you have the best homestead and family farm Sooo Cuteee 🥰 love the animal 👋👍
Thanks Ryan for the nice video. I'm currently an air pollution refugee in Philippines, who would have thought that Manilla is perceived as "clean air"!! Close to Laos border (Nong Khai/ Udon Thani area) the pollution is bad for 2.5 months now. With COPD, not a good combo. After being mostly locked up for 6 weeks in the air-conditioning room (with cheap china air filter) I was going crazy.... Combined with the heat, regularly above 40c.. So a short holiday to literally catch my breath! So amazing good to be able to walk outside!!!!! And Cebu is nice cool, 30-35c 😂 I wanted to ask what type is your purifier? Xiaomi.... ??? Once again, thanks for the great show.
It sure is hot...here 39 / 40 every day but feels like 43...love the little cool tub where can l get one...what happened to the jacuzzi you built next to the kitchen...l see it's empty now ...love your vlogs ❤
Like your vlog and the "ranting". 👍 I have lived in rural Thailand during wintertime, but that was a long time ago. Please elaborate with your thoughts about safety and protection? A locked gate will not help very far against the humanity you don´t trust. What meassures have you taken to protect your family in case of for example night intruders?
Respect your escape from the matrix. Doing your job wonderfully as a protector of your family and land. You were meant for such a time as this as we all are😎
young tree's that are standing alone receive far more direct sunlight than those in groups or forests where they receive some partial shading during the day. They need a little help with some artificial shading for a few years on those really bad days......... in Aussie we often work outside at night when its in the low 40's on some days and you can fry an egg on the car bonnet ! 😂
Also I guess you have to get up very early and do animals before it gets hot and then later at night. 👋 Is the Rabbit Cage / area hard to keep clean ? If I remember they do poo a lot right ? Lol
Yeah , hot , 38 C and my builders building my house in Isaan seven days per week , I suppose they are used to it , amazing. I am retired , but from Australia , can survive few months of this. So don't be a whinnying pom Ryan , hahaha ....
Heat period at the moment and unfortunately super pollution from burning sent so many people to hospitals in Chiang Mai ( most polluted city in the world these last days ) and Chiang Rai....it's a shame how nobody cares ( from government ) year after year since more than 10 years now.......otherwise the best drink during the summer season is fresh coconut water. :)

What's the name of the air-con or purifier?
Thanks
Nice vlog love your home.
If you’ve not done so, might want to consider installing uv and heat filtering window film
Will look into this actually 👍
🥵 I'm watching this in the morning while sitting a few feet from my fan downstairs. I'm across the border from you in Surin and a few days ago started going into an air conditioned room in the afternoon for a couple hours until market time everyday. I grew up with heat in south Texas and now that I am older it really wears me down. Looking forward to clouds and light rain. 😂
I love watching the geckos scampering about in the background. Those little buggers must be boiling! Thanks mate for another awesome video.
Glad you enjoyed it my friend 🙏
Come to USA in my state of Utah still snowing every day it Heavy snow. Also I’m from Cambodia
Weather is hot but not the same all over Thailand
Ryan, would you consider using an hydroponic system for watering some of your plants?
Ive looked into it but i prefer the old fashioned method! for now. haha
Hi guys 👋 I've been watching you all for about 1 year I love your videos such a great job you both do
I watch my TH-cam on my television so You can't really comment unless I grab my phone. My dad sold these type of units .. anyway you have the best homestead and family farm
Sooo Cuteee 🥰 love the animal 👋👍
6:10-6:16
‘Oh dear, ‘Tis… you’re in Thailand.
Must go visit Grandma and Grandpa in UK😂❤ ❤❤❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧😢
too late but thanks for the headsup 😁 I am jealous about all those animals!
As always, i enjoyed watching this vlog. I really want to see damo's twin sister and other sister too clearly LoL
I’m having a lot of enjoyment from my micro misting system to cool the hot days, don’t see much of that in Thailand
❤ you are very good heart
And Cebu is nice cool, 30-35c 😂
I wanted to ask what type is your purifier? Xiaomi.... ???
Once again, thanks for the great show.
Hey Frank it’s a xiomi 4 lite 👍😊
I like Damos sister in the white tshirt! Beautiful
She looks like Damo mum
It sure is hot...here 39 / 40 every day but feels like 43...love the little cool tub where can l get one...what happened to the jacuzzi you built next to the kitchen...l see it's empty now ...love your vlogs ❤
That’s the one I set up for the other kids - it broke and the new one doesn’t fit that surround. You can get off lazada 🙏😁✊🇹🇭
what does kapoom mean?
Sounds like June to September in Texas
I’m sure they use centigrade in Thailand, which everybody understands.
Like your vlog and the "ranting". 👍
I have lived in rural Thailand during wintertime, but that was a long time ago.
Please elaborate with your thoughts about safety and protection?
A locked gate will not help very far against the humanity you don´t trust.
What meassures have you taken to protect your family in case of for example night intruders?
8 hungry dogs that attack anyone that even comes by the walk road 👍
Respect your escape from the matrix. Doing your job wonderfully as a protector of your family and land. You were meant for such a time as this as we all are😎
Very hot in bkk these last 2/3 weeks. I am still adjusting but coping quite well 😅
thanks
Definitely go and set up a pool
young tree's that are standing alone receive far more direct sunlight than those in groups or forests where they receive some partial shading during the day. They need a little help with some artificial shading for a few years on those really bad days......... in Aussie we often work outside at night when its in the low 40's on some days and you can fry an egg on the car bonnet ! 😂
Today is my third day being a Khon Kaen resident and all I can say is I’m soooo glad I have three air conditioners!! 🤣🤣🤣
It's also a good idea to invest in 2 good, not outrageously expensive, air purifies which the HEPA filters are easy to buy in plentiful numbers.
nice
Also I guess you have to get up very early and do animals before it gets hot and then later at night. 👋
Is the Rabbit Cage / area hard to keep clean ? If I remember they do poo a lot right ? Lol
Yeah , hot , 38 C and my builders building my house in Isaan seven days per week , I suppose they are used to it , amazing.
I am retired , but from Australia , can survive few months of this.
So don't be a whinnying pom Ryan , hahaha ....
yes i noticed there was a new naked guru vid
Heat period at the moment and unfortunately super pollution from burning sent so many people to hospitals in Chiang Mai ( most polluted city in the world these last days ) and Chiang Rai....it's a shame how nobody cares ( from government ) year after year since more than 10 years now.......otherwise the best drink during the summer season is fresh coconut water. :)
This comment might be dated but we visited Thailand this April 2024 and it was Hot! I have seen a few videos saying this may be one of the hottest months on record for South East Asia. Stay Cool!!
When are we going to see Darmo sisters?🤔
Definitely hotter this year… we bought a small pool ish….. thought it was for the kids but wife took over..
In April, I have a soaking wet shirt on all day long. It makes a huge difference.
บรรยากาศดีจ้า
Poor doggies thanks god you allow them to come in rest🌹👍
What's child care like over there? Expensive?
❤
regards at 13.00 you said air quality got up to 140, i watched bill in chiang mai (you tuber) saying it was reading 380,,,horrendous, this has to adressed, horrible for everyone. thai govt do something please!
It is really bad! Kika’s thousands - I covered it in last weeks vlog the burning 👍👍
In Australia they used to say , when is hot like this , one only sees mad dogs and Englishmen in the street !
