For the last European country we are visiting on this Europe Christmas market series, we decided to go see what Belgium has to offer. We spend a day walking around Brussels to experience as many Holiday offerings the city has as possible. The winter festival that includes the Christmas markets is called "Plaisir d'hiver" and last until early January.
Our journey started close to the Brussels Exchange (Bourse de Bruxelles) where they have many different Christmas booths that includes both street food and trinkets. Early on we went for a large portion of the famous Belgium fries and this was the highlight. Do not miss those when in Belgium.
From there we walked to the Sainte-Catherine Church which is surrounded by Holiday markets. The most unique spot we found was at the Place Sainte-Catherine where a team from Canada decided to fly all the way to Belgium to share some Canadian delicacies! We had a poutine and let us tell you, this poutine was the real deal straight from Montreal Quebec!
Finally, the largest Christmas market in Brussels is located at the marché aux poissons. It has dozen of booths offering everything you can imagine and a stunning white ferris wheel. This is where we ended the night with a Belgium waffle and hot chocolate.

Nous avons une un temps fantastic en Belgique même si nous n'avons été là que trois jours.
The frites normally first in beef fat, then the second time in Arachide oil (higher temperature). Double fry . Really love the vid. Cheers!

Hey from Italy. We arrived yesterday night in Belgium and currently in Bruges, which is so freaking stunning. The entire city looks like the most beautiful Christmas decor. Food is just amazing.
Agreed, its a really beautiful place. :)
How would I describe your content, you ask?? "WAFFLE PERFECTION"🎉😂😂
Hahaha! 😆👍🏼
That was so cool to have a real poutine from home. Great video
It sure was! I was to shocked to see that in Belgium. haha
I'm from Brussels and I need to check out that Poutine stall haha
Oh yes! You're gonna love it I'm sure.
Oooh, you guys were in Belgium.
I would loved to meet you guys one time in real life. Hopefully you had a nice time
We were there for just 36hrs to film this on our way back to Canada. 🇨🇦
@ amazing what you guys do. Love all the videos. Have fun back in Canada.
McDonalds fries in the US used to be fried in beef tallow. They put beef seasoning in the fries to replicate the taste.
The good old days! :p
😍😍
Thank you for watching Queen! :D
Super❤❤
Thanks 🔥
I find this one interesting, the markets in Belgium seem to put more focus on quality of food over the decorations (their decorations seem more demure/ toned down compared to other European markets), I think that is a smart move. I'm surprised by the score for food, I thought it'd rank higher.
❤❤🇰🇪
Yeah the decorations are definitely different in Belgium! 👍
Great vlog 😍😇
Cheers! :D
Why Video length is too short?? ☹️
Sorry. Doing our best here! :P
I like Germany Christmas market so much
Us too! :)

Yeah... We had to come for the Holidays. :p
❤
Thanks for watching Kyle! :D
@ always bro!!! 💪🏼
Deutschland is ground zero for Christmas markets!!! They invented the thing including most of what we consider Christmas traditions like the Christmas tree.
It's for sure a good place to be around Christmas! 🇩🇪❤️
Piegowaty niezła kasa co na prezenty
👍🏼
Sorry for me the food i put Brussels number 1 !
You have to try Budapest! :p
I gonna be honest win we were on trip in the usa and Canada ans we eat alot of bad food en good food in Canada and the usa. But the cheese is really not good at al in in the usa ore Canada. And European are not like Americans that need all the attention ho have the most light and best decor. Is al about walking eating drinking. And next time go to gent is much nicer there and brussel is the tourist trap
Sure BUT! In Quebec which is one of the Canadian province, they are know to make excellent cheese and this is the only place you can get the real cheese used for poutine.
1:07 "they drink lots of blond beer light beer"
ROFLMAO
you couldn't be further from the truth if you tried
Really? Most Belgium beers are "blond"
@@DaveMani Your lack of knowledge shows the lack of research.
Belgian blond beers are not as strong as other Belgian beers, that is true. They tend to be only about 6 to 8%. In comparison, Canadian beers in general range between 4 and 7%.
E.G.: Hoegaarden 4.9 and Chouffe is 8% while Cornet and Duvel are 8.5%
So saying that a Belgium beer is blond doesn't mean a thing. Any pilsner you can call a blond beer but that calling it blond doesn't mean a thing. A Miller is a pilsner and you can compare that to a Jupiler but no one in his right mind would compare Jupiler to a Hoegarden.
Now also consider the range of non blond beers. Dark ales, fruity ones such as raspberry and dark cherries and all the rest. if you look at Abby beers, Trappists and the multitude of other beers :
- Rodenback 5.2 to 7%
- Guldern draak 10.5%
- Delirum tremens 8.5%
- Duchesse du Bourgogne : 6%
- Gueze : 6%
- Westmalle : 8.5%
- Bernardus Abt 12 : 10%
You'll see that there are plenty of non-blond beers and that they are either comparable or a tad heavier than the general beers available in Canada.
And that's without going for the real specialty beers such as quadruple kinds or more obscure ones like 'Dark nun' 12.5% and 'Cassadura' 15%
Great vlog 🥰😎
Thanks! :D
