I also got a black market in my deck. Worked well ;)
Black Market is a great addition! It was out of budget for this deck but if you want to increase it, it can really do wonders.
Shirei is the budget version of Brudiclad; every deck tech guy eventually reviews him.
Haha yes definitely! Such a fun deck to play. Great opportunity to use some draft chaff.
Nice build and explanations thanks. AFR really did add some great additions to this value-based machine ! When you talked about Lampad's of death's vigil it made me wonder why you didn't go with Nantuko Husk instead. It's like bloodthrone vampire but for 1 more mana. Any specific reason besides it being a 2/2 ?
Thank you for the support and kind words. You pretty much nailed it. Bloodthrone Vampire is at least a 1/1. I think Husk would be a great addition though! MID also gave the deck a few nice creatures.
@@scocasplays6703 thanks for the answer. Looking forward to your other deck techs. Any one you'd recommend in the past ones you already did ?
I have a Voltron deck tech coming soon. I'll see what Crimson Vow brings too. Lathliss has stood the test of time for me. Veyran and Asmodeus are also a lot of fun.
I might try to build more budget decks in the future.
Carrion feeder will come back if you respond to the trigger of it getting counters by sacing itself before the counters are placed on it.
Definitely a neat little trick with holding priority and sacrificing everything.
You have to remember that Skullclamp shuts off Shirei's ability, because of the +1 power, but still worth it in my opinion.
Great catch! Thank you for pointing it out. I made note of it for other examples but seem to have forgotten skullclamp adds +1, it never comes up. The card is just too good.
Yeah, but the skullclamp is perfect for token ;)
@@scocasplays6703 i think, for ramp it would be better to use 1/1 mana dorks instead of artifacts like sol ring or bontu's monument. imo the extra colorless or the reduction isn't that big of a deal in low cmc decks like these, and you have additional targets to sacrifice after the tap.
and skullclamp - you have so much draw in this deck, the two cards you get from this are actually a minor payoff compared to the downside of skimping your commander's ability.
What mana dorks do you recommend? I did try Blood Pet. I always hated having it without my commander though. Soldevi Adnate could be ok as a sac outlet. Vesper Ghoul always felt too expensive.

There are quite a few, even for mono black.
YT hates links to external sites, so here is a scryfall query (edit: fixed it) - just copy&paste into scryfall's search bar.
