When I first started watching several different "Chateau" programs, they involved digging up this and tearing that down; however, Chateau Diaries showed people dancing in the kitchen. At first. I just didn't understand and was confused at the madness I was witnessing. NOW, that I have caught up and watched ALL Chateau Diaries, I now understand the dancing and the glorious FUN to be had at LaLande. Moments like this are what LEGENDS are made of!!!

Watching Amaury move his workshop looks like a game of Tetris the way he positions everything. And I love how Molly is always close. Bad Restoration Jesus. 🤣🤣
He knows how to move everything and where he wants it in an organized way. Sometimes it is easier to do it yourself and not go crazy with others help...😂❤

As someone who does work and would also appear to need an assistant, sometimes it's really just easier to work alone rather than spend the time directing or asking for the next step to happen. I gather he prefers to work solo on a lot of these things.

Maria’s party reminded me of a magical art show in Laguna Beach California called the Pageant of the Master where they create tableaux vivants of paintings. It’s really spectacular.
@LollyGee Last week I just randomly watched the Mike Rowe show "Dirty Jobs"where he was in the Pageant as Bartholomew in The Last Supper, and I promptly added the Pageant to my bucket list.

I literally burst into hysterical laughter seeing Philip in his ingenius costume pose 😂😂😂 Worthy winner indeed, and his choice so entirely unexpected! I love surrealist parties (they're always so much FUN) so this was right up my alley! ALL the costumes were truly splendid, and Maria is such a great dame, full of artistic creativity, laughs and such talent!
I loved her Picasso makeup and Garibaldi creations, and the Hieronymous Brioche 🤣 😂
Steaming and ripping down wallpaper on my own (much more work than I expected) I can't begin to imagine the energy Amoury has to du such heavy project non stop... I was thinking also about Dan, as I feel ever so slightly woozy standing top my 3 meter ladder, I have to pause every so often or I think I might tumble.

Amaury is next level helpful, selfless, hard-working, capable, creative, intelligent, kind, thoughtful, talented, and oftentimes, long suffering. I honestly don't think anyone can do what he does and has done for the renovation of Lalande.
I know how much his dedication means to everyone at Lalande. But I hope he knows there are people ALL OVER the world who hold his work ethic and gentle nature in the highest regard.

I've pulled my ancient edition of the works of Tennyson off the shelf, blew off the dust, and read Mariana, reminding me of what a great poet he was. Thanks, Stephanie! I only wish she'd been here to read it aloud in that lovely gown. The painting masquerade was glorious, and Maria chose the winners well. One would have expected Philip to appear as some dashing figure painted by Frans Hals, or Gainsborough, but I love that his dark humor prevailed and brought Restored Jesus to life. A vlog to remember!

Agree 100%. He is not pretentious and comes across as thoroughly decent. His parents are lovely too. His picture a drawcard.
Amaury is such a hard worker. He should accept the help sometimes. Please tell him, yes, he is young and strong now, but he should pace himself and accept the help so that he can keep going longer into his life. Take it from me, who wishes I also accepted help more when I was younger, now I need it and that is that.

I know Amaury just gets on with whatever needs doing. However, I agree with Stephanie that people could have helped him boxing and moving the books at least. His skills are too valuable to be wasted with such trivial tasks. Wonderful party. Very creative. Good to see Stuart and Patrick, Tony and Jane! Love those guys!!!

I have said it before, and I'll say it again--Amaury is like a superhero. Your wonderful painting party is SO MUCH like the parties I used to throw! The last one I threw was a "Come as your alter ego" party, for which I was Joan of Arc. But someone told me I was already Joan of Arc, and wanted to know who else I was. lol. By the end of the night, there were over 100 people there. Yet, I served no food or alcohol (I'm not rich). People came for the atmosphere. I was always throwing creative parties. Also, at the time, my roommate & I had a big empty wooden picture frame (similar to the one in this video) in the living room that we used for all sorts of creative antics. So, this video took me right back to that fun period of time in my life. Delightful!
Bravo to all this was a most EPIC party, do love a costume party at Chateau Lalande 👍🤩🎉

And this years tetris reward goes toooo .... Amaury! I remember how patient he had to be when the carriage room got tidied up in the first place, because he wanted to work nonstop and everybody else wanted to discuss and play with what they found. I can relate to him doing it alone - just imagine Stephanie going through the books, telling the story of at least every second of them.
This was great -- Philip truly deserved his prize! And, to go back to Amaury's move -- Stephanie is so right -- there ARE other people in the Chateau. I thought of that when I saw Amaury restocking the bookshelf! I thought, gosh, why doesn't he ask somebody else to do that. On second thought, it's a break from doing all the seriously heavy lifting and planning.

So funny watching Amaury “workin’ like a dog” cleaning out the old stables while the actual dog lies around watching and sleeping. Makes me wonder why that phrase exists-“workin’ like a dog”? The dog looks more like a supervisor-“Oh yes Amaury…Good job…Jolly good show, Amaury….Is it tea time yet?” But seriously, Amaury is amazing. He can do anything and is willing to do everything. If you didn’t have him, you’d have to hire six different types of workmen to do all the variety of things he can do. Wow, what an incredible blessing he is.
