A full re recording of my old "The Silent of Daylight" cover from Castlevania 2 on the NES . How old were you when you heard this tune for the first time and what was your first impression of the game :)
I was in elementary school when this game came out. Several of us kids put together our experiences and each of us was able to piece them together to finish the game. Such great memories. I can still remember my password that will carry me to the end of the game to this day.
I find people don't give this track enough love, it still has that energetic Castlevania feel while being more laid back and explorative than most other NES Castlevania tracks
When I first played this game when it came out this was my least favorite track but now in my late 40s it's one of my favorites. Nice work on the recreation of it!
I was just noodling through this on my acoustic, and had to listen to the original NES version to recall some of the notes. Anyway, this is a masterpiece!
Got into CV recently, playing through all the games atm. Started CV2 and while I'm not gonna follow a guide and beat it, I was immediately enthralled. Wandering around the world wondering what was going on. There was a magic to this game, and this track is what that magic sounds like.
I was 8 when this game came out. It frustrated me at first, but became one of my all time favorites. The soundtrack is the best of any game, ever. Great cover!
I heard a song by Ramsey Lewis titled Lullabye and thought it was the song that inspired Kenichi Matsubara's The Silence of Daylight, but that album wasn't released till 1998. Now I wonder if they were both inspired by the same, older song.
I've seen your Bayou Billy cover (amazing by the way) but I didn't know you did this song. This has to be one of my all time favorite Castlevania tracks. It's incredibly nostalgic to me; some of my first memories are of watching my older brother play this game. Thank you!
Wow, one of my favourite Castlevania songs and you nailed it. I need a ROM of Castlevania with swapped BGMs to play your music and I would be in heaven. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!
I could listen to this all day on a loop. Driving my truck to post-industrial negative spaces or quasi agricultural remoteness. I love my job, and you have built up a huge library of music that creates a real soundtrack around my life.
Wow i really like this rendition of Silence of Daylight. Very nice!! Is their any chance my friend and i could use this song in our fan game? If you allow us use i will be sure to add you to the credits list.
i really like this cover, fits the "countryside" theming of simon's quest perfectly :D btw what is the instrument featured in the thumbnail? i'm very interested by it
I know this game is seen as a bad game but it has a special place for me. I remember playing it as a kid countless times and being surprised by how advanced it was, with an open ended world and RPG elements I had not seen before in any game before. Great cover, you totally nailed it!
Your process just keeps getting better and better:) I thoroughly enjoyed the upgrade. And ye olde Russian synth really plays well into Castlevania covers.

What a horrible night to have a curse
"What a horrible night to have a curse" ---

Yes. Yes it has.
I find people don't give this track enough love, it still has that energetic Castlevania feel while being more laid back and explorative than most other NES Castlevania tracks
Truer words were spoken.
I agree 100%

Wow! My favourite Castlevania tune, and this is by far the best cover I've heard. Just brilliant!

Best cover of this tune on YT… Bravo!
For the Love of God please is there a 10, Nay, 24 Hrs Version of this, I need this in my daily activities.
Sick! Another great cover! This tune always stood out to me in the game.
This is an absolute sonic wonderland. It's def a proper homage to the original. Bravo. 👏

I absolutely love this!
by far the best Castlevania song. Nice version of it, I'd play the bass behind you at any concert.
Quite a nostalgic music to have a curse.
This and the code input themes are my favorite CVII :SQ themes.❤
this is awesome!
You are literally the only person covering this song that gets it.
Brilliant rework!
We can pretty much call it: "one man" orchestral theme
Still one of my favorite TH-cam channels, amazing covers of my favorite VGM tunes ❤
What a lovely rendition of the daytime music from Castlevania II.
Best cover of this song i've ever heard. Brillant.

I love that song and I’m a big fan of your Castlevania covers so this is just perfect!
I was 8 when this game came out. It frustrated me at first, but became one of my all time favorites. The soundtrack is the best of any game, ever. Great cover!
What the f.ingly f why no one else keep it's original Melody and plays it like this 🫵
This is one of my favorite Castlevania songs and I loved your first cover of it, but this version is even better!
thanks. yeah I really wanted to redo it with my more recent sound. more CV2 coming soon ;)
Stellar arrangement.
Holy cow I just got to the woodwind part in the middle. Yeah. Amazing stuff.
Fav Castelvania song and this cover blew my mind

DAY TO
BE BLESSED.
Nothing earns my sub faster than a badass cover of Silence of Daylight
Didn't expect a cover of this, but it's one of my favorite Castlevania tracks!
I heard a song by Ramsey Lewis titled Lullabye and thought it was the song that inspired Kenichi Matsubara's The Silence of Daylight, but that album wasn't released till 1998. Now I wonder if they were both inspired by the same, older song.
Seems like Ollie is really a big fan of Castlevania as he creates splendid covers of this majestic game franchise.
Love this cover--sound design throughout is gorgeous
I instantly added this to my favorites!
I've seen your Bayou Billy cover (amazing by the way) but I didn't know you did this song. This has to be one of my all time favorite Castlevania tracks. It's incredibly nostalgic to me; some of my first memories are of watching my older brother play this game. Thank you!
Absolutely amazing rendition of a classic tune
Great flute part!

Castevania Branduardi’s Quest 😊
Great job man!!!
sounds Brilliant.
I'm fascinated by the instrument in the thumbnail. 👀👀
Portuguese Guitara :)
Awesome!
All these years and you're still here !
I love this very low sound and how it stands perfectly for the "silence" of daylight. Thank you !
I could listen to this all day on a loop. Driving my truck to post-industrial negative spaces or quasi agricultural remoteness. I love my job, and you have built up a huge library of music that creates a real soundtrack around my life.
This sounds even nicer, thank you :>
The best castlevania covers from you!❤ Always waiting for new tune. Thank you!

sure thing. send me a link to the game too :)
Excellent. Not only did you do the original version justice, you elevated it. Well done!
i really like this cover, fits the "countryside" theming of simon's quest perfectly :D
btw what is the instrument featured in the thumbnail? i'm very interested by it
it's a Portuguese Guitara. 5 double string instrument with fine tunning mechs on the head stock . It's got a very cool distinctive look alright
Yeees, So nice to see love given to the town song!!
Holy shit this is amazing! I’ve been trying to decipher this for the piano.
I know this game is seen as a bad game but it has a special place for me. I remember playing it as a kid countless times and being surprised by how advanced it was, with an open ended world and RPG elements I had not seen before in any game before. Great cover, you totally nailed it!
It wasn’t a bad game it was a tragically flawed game
bad game? it's my favorite Castlevania no contest. If it was hard, it was because it set the standard, hell they are called Metroid-vania's now!
The morning banjo has vanquished the horrible night.
You really did that song justice! Great work!
Thanks
wow. thanks so much for the support !
A great tribute to this supremely underrated song!
Cool version 2.

Your process just keeps getting better and better:) I thoroughly enjoyed the upgrade. And ye olde Russian synth really plays well into Castlevania covers.

Terrific!

LOVE this and also your Battle of the Holy cover, under-appreciated tracks imo!! today was a good day to "accidentally" buy things on bandcamp ;D

Absolutely stellar, as always.
The view count is criminally low!
Amazing rendition of a classic track!
Still love this cover.
Je reste toujours dans l'émerveillement quand j'écoute BG!
Awesome job, as always!
Great as usual ! 👍
Love this track. Simon's Quest gets a lot of hate but it's one of my favorites.
Growing up is realizing this track is better than bloody tears
Sublime

This is superb.
Incredible
extra great job.
Magnificent!
Man U Rule!
What’s that hand instrument that is just your hands that make the clap sound?
yep clap and snare overlapped

Could use this as incidental music!
