Have been running a campaign through Discord and just purchased a subscription to Syrinscape, and plan on running a session tomorrow evening. This video could not have come at a better time. Thanks a bunch.

Great Video! Thanks for sharing! The other thing I'd recommend is there are a bunch of "helping" voice options within Discord like noise suppression, echo cancellation, noise reduction, etc. Turn that stuff off for the 2nd account that is doing the syrinscape streaming

For anyone trying this now, on your syrinscape discord account, lower down on your 'Voice & Video" settings, turn off Krisp noise suppression, echo cancellation, noise reduction, and automatic gain control. At least for me those were all hindering the audio and krisp noise suppression was completely removing the syrinscape audio.
Good post. Unfortunately with one of the latest discord updates, they turned on Krisp noise suppression and noise reduction by default.

Followed you EXACTLY. nothing plays through voice meter. My players hear nothing.

@@LordGwydion just one thing that i have noticed : in discord canary I need to uncheck Noise Suppression (Voice & video - Advanced) so my players hear the syrinscape sound (otherwise they cannot hear anything).
@@lichecorne2263 Interesting. Yeah, the noise suppression is one thing I always turn off in all voice applications as I handle it separately via another app.
I am absolutely loving this tutorial, although I'm running into problem that as soon as I choose Speaker (currently my headset) as Hardware Output, everything goes mute. Same thing happens if I change it to anything else in Sound Control panel or Sound Output in settings. Perhaps I messed up a step! Trying to follow through with this nonetheless, with rest of it. EDIT: Turns out it was because I had Syrinscape open all the while! EDIT 2: Had issues with making Syrinscape follow through with the fooling but Drink and Dice advice solved that for me, it seems! Truly thank you!
Awesome to hear! There is another option now that someone came up with the use a discord soundbot to pipe stereo sound directly into discord that you can check out as well. I can post a link here to that if you are interested.

Is it possible to combine both this method and the bot method you linked in the description together? So send syrincape audio to voice meter, then take the audio from voicemeter output and select that option in the Discord audio pipe? So it would be Syrincape --> Voicemeter --> Discord Audio Pipe
This way I can control the sound of Syrinscape through Voicemeter, instead of using Syrinscape itself or Discord User Volume. Reason I want to do this is to use Touch Portal to quickly raise or lower Syrinscape sounds
I don't see what that would be an issue. Should work just fine.

Great tutorial, easy to follow, however, mind did not end up working. I doubled checked all of my settings and they seem good. I did notice that I when I am logged into Discord and Canary, my user ID is the same. There isn't a second instance of 'myname-Syrinscape'?
Hmmm... You might need to log out of canary and log in again with the "new" id as they should be different.
Have the settings changed since this video was posted? I'm getting nothing in my Discord or Syrinscape columns in VM Banana. If I have Cable A set, I get Discord. Cable B gets me Syrinscape. But putting to Voicemeeter Input, as per video, I get nothing showing up. I do see, however, the A1 & B1 on the right side (Master Section) in VM Banana has a volume bar moving, but not in those larger columns on the left. Mic seems to be fine, and I can hear sound on my side but just curious why Master Section seems to be working while the left side isn't.
Nothing should have changed. Do the players hear syrinscape when you test it with them? do you hear them from discord?
I really like your video, but I am unable to get syrinscape to play through canary. I hear it through my speakers, but not through discord. What's weird is that in my main discord i see my canary account, and it looks like its broadcasting because it has the green circle around it, but its not. Not sure what step I may have missed in this process.

I'm having problems where I open syrinscape wit B Input and then switc over to VAIO after it has booted and then syrinscape follows to VAIO instead of staying on B Input. What should I do?

@@sunnydragon722 I have a workaround but not fixed. Syrinscape is working on updates so that you can change the playback devices to whatever you want. While they do that there are some bugs like this one. You can use audiorouter to force it to play to a certain device. See my video here at 34:51 th-cam.com/video/o9g23P2De6Q/w-d-xo.html
@@sunnydragon722 Unfortunately not for this setup. But, i decided to use Syrenscape Online and it works amazing. I think it's a better alternative than this setup. You should check it out!

I feel like I missed something. I followed all the steps I can see the syrinscape sound in voice meter but it does not send through discord
First thing to check is to make sure you have the "second" instance of discord set for voice activity and make sure that slider is set all the way to the left.
Also, there is a better discord solution now if you'd like to try it. You can use discord audio pipe to send stereo audio in. The method in my video still works but the quality is better in the new setup. You can find it here:

Nevermind I found it, had to disable the "Noise Suppression" setting
and then it stopped.....
@@Shadowkiwi Did you try the slider thing and make sure voice activity is not set to automatic?
I've been fussing with this for about 2 hours, but Cable A and B do not appear in my voicemeter, only Cable C and D. I tried to make it work with those cables, using C for A and D for B, without success.

No problem. Thats a pretty easy tweak. You could toggle "B2" in the first column of VMB (assuming your mic is there). Then in discord, change the "input device" from your mic to voicmeeeter AUX output (not voicemeeter VAIO). That should do the trick. I don't have a single option for virtual output coming up? It only gives me microphone/speakers at options.

@@LordGwydion so i got everything set up but can't figure out how to get Syrinscape audio to come out, even though youtube and other desktop audio are working fine
@@KirbyFranklin you might have to use audio router to make sure Syrinscape plays back through the right output. I’ll post a link on where to find it.

From 14:00 to 15:40 I ran into a technical issue. I thought about editing it out but I think it is a good issue to show everyone and what the fix is.
