1,000 Subscribers! That's insane; thank you all so much ❤ I really appreciate everyone engaging with me and hearing my thoughts, and here's to many more thoughts!
I'm going to be pretty busy this week, but maybe next week I'll try to get a 1k video up, and perhaps a bit of a Q&A, so if you have any questions for me, reply to this comment and I'll try to answer them.
Thank you again for all of your support, and have a great Easter Weekend if you celebrate!
    God bless ❤

Given the Easter theme, how do you feel about Anna's character, as a religious person?
I appreciate that neither you nor her are solely defined by your belief, but you've spoken about her before in relation to her role in her church. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts!

Congratulations! I've enjoyed your journey with The Expanse so far. For a question: What are your favorite subjects from school? What are your career ambitions? Just curious, no need to answer if that is inappropriate or uncomfortable. Thanks for everything so far!

The biggest issue facing The Belt is that while Anderson Dawes and Fred Johnson want them to become a single nation, not every faction or even every Belter wants to be a member of one.

    From the books....
"There was a man once, and his name was Miller. And he found things, but he doesn’t anymore. He saved people if he could. He avenged them if he couldn’t. He sacrificed when he had to. He found the things that were missing. He knew who’d done it, and he did the obvious things because they were obvious. The investigator had grown through his bones, repopulated his eyes with new and unfamiliar life, taken his shape."
    ..................................
"It builds the investigator, and the investigator looks, but does not know. It kills the investigator. It builds the investigator, and the investigator looks, but does not know. It kills the investigator. It builds the investigator, and the investigator looks but does not know, and it does not kill the investigator. It is not aware of a change, that a pattern has broken. The investigator is aware, and it wonders, and because it wonders it looks, and because it looks, the investigator exceeds its boundary conditions, and it kills the investigator.
    It builds the investigator.
    Something knows.
The investigator hesitates. A pattern has broken, and it isn’t aware that a pattern has broken, but a part of it is. A part of it grasps at the change and tries to tell the investigator. And the investigator stops. Its thoughts are careful as a man walking in a minefield. The investigator hesitates, knows a pattern has been broken. Breaks it a little more. The dead place becomes better defined. It reaches out, and it does not kill the investigator. The investigator exceeds its boundary conditions, and it does not kill the investigator. The investigator considers the dead space, the structure, the reaching out, the reaching out, the reaching out. The investigator licks his lips, he doesn’t have a mouth. He adjusts his hat, he doesn’t have a hat. He wishes in a distant way that he had a beer, he has no body and no passion. He turns his attention to the dead space, to the world, to how you solve unsolvable problems. How you find things that aren’t there. What happens when you do."
    .................................
"It reaches out, it reaches out, it reaches out, it reaches out- One hundred and thirteen times a second, nothing answers and it reaches out. It is not conscious, though parts of it are. There are structures within it that were once separate organisms; aboriginal, evolved, and complex. It is designed to improvise, to use what is there and then move on. Good enough is good enough, and so the artifacts are ignored or adapted. The conscious parts try to make sense of the reaching out. Try to interpret it."

I made a short audio clip of *"It reaches out, it reaches out, it reaches out, it reaches out. One hundred and thirteen times a second, nothing answers, and it reaches out."* from the audiobook, ran it through some effects to give it an artificial mechanical sound, and made it my ringtone. It freaks people out when my phone rings and this voice is going "It reaches out...." but it gives me a great opportunity to tell them about The Expanse. 😉

    Congrats on 1K!
This episode definitely ramps up the level of intensity. Then again, and again, and again.
You are a very smart and observant person. Keep paying attention like you have been so far. It is fun watching you put things together.
Looking forward to the next episode.

I've seen dozens of Expanse reactions. You're the only one who figured out several different things that early and that close to what is or will be happening. Very impressive.

I think I have to see anyone not talk to / yell at / curse at / or threaten the show itself during that fake-out ending! It really gets all of us. And all it does is leave us more confused! lol!

    Great reaction and analysis Wren!!
Very very astute! There a few unanswered questions but all will be cleared up soon!
Yes the Protomolicule does want the Rocinante and communicating with Holden! But why?
Looking forward to the next one!

Regardless of what we know about him, and what he may or may not be, being from Earth does not preclude Holden from being an OPA "operative". Case in point, Fred Johnson.

Very astute observation at the end regarding where the Roci is. The missile was apparently stopped from hitting the Roci, and you notice the purple glow around the nose of the missile.

The video guy is a bit like Geordi LaForge with an independently mobile visor. What you see on his arms is the subdermal sensor network that allows him to see and control his video drones..

As others have said, you're doing a good job putting pieces together...as good a job as you could do at this point. Did you notice that Melba Koh (the deadly mechanic) was smiling as she heard the fake Holden transmission...she looked pleased, not surprised or shocked...so you must be right about their coordination. It wasn't clear, but indeed the Roci and the missile had both entered the Ring and were on the other side. The missile had been stopped...there is a visible clue to that effect.
The Holden transmission stated that Holden was operating on behalf of the OPA. The UN doesn't particularly care whether or not that's true...they're willing to kill Belters on any humbug pretext. Avasarala might tell them to wait, but she's three hours away by radio.

    Congrats on 1K!
"miller avatar" was very well put. brilliant theories.
I believe you're one of the ones that figured out what Miller was trying to say in regards of going in slow the fastest.
I'd like to note as a reminder that this latter half of season three do truncate a whole book, so if something feels a bit rushed, that might be why.
The creators wanted to finish the story on a good note in case the studio did not pick the show up for a fourth season. that turned out to be the case.
But before they could start demolishing the sets, Amazon primes Jeff Bezos stepped in (we've been over this before, haven't we?)

  • @wagnarokkr

21:52 Holden has worked for the OPA (via Fred Johnson) before though, and people in the UNN probably remember him being the one who convinced Avasarala to let the OPA take control of a whole mess of nuclear missiles they fired at Eros (and then turned them off without the UN's approval)

Just finished your Expanse 3x4 reaction. Responding to your request for movie suggestions. I think this one covers pretty much all of the preferences you mentioned. The Andromeda Strain. 1971. Some interesting cinematography and camera shots. Quality acting. Mystery. Suspense. And it's sci-fi adjacent at the very least. It might not bring in tons of views (hard to tell, last I checked there were almost no reactions to it), but I think you'd really enjoy it based on what little I've gathered of your tastes from The Expanse reactions. Take care.

Amos is very much the loyal guard dog at the moment. We see that Holden has moved very much into the place where Naomi was as the leader to follow.

It reaches out and it reaches out and it reaches out… 113 times a second. It reaches out but nothing answers, so it builds the Investigator, and the Investigator looks but he does not find, so it kills the Investigator. It kills the Investigator over and over. And then it builds the Investigator again, and again, until… it finds a door that wasn’t there before.
When it needed a pilot, it resurrected and used Julie. What's it using Miller for?
Fred johnson is an Earther too, don't forget - you don't have to be a Belter to be in the OPA.

You think out of a few hundred Mormons crewing the Navou , not one of them would hide a secret bottle of hardcore somewhere onboard?
Let’s not forget that they also invited a bunch of Belters along to have experienced spacers with them (they invited Miller).

    • @MattNolanCustom
      @MattNolanCustom 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I thought that Ashford was referring to the glasses being from the Mormons and that the bottle was his own. Nevertheless, Mormon's are not forbidden from drinking sacramental wine so long as they made it themselves and didn't buy it from a non-Mormon. They don't tend to do this, they tend to use water, but that specific case is not expressly forbidden.

Several episodes back you kept talking about the little bit of protomolcule on the Roci. I didn't want to give you any kudos for remembering it, for fear of spoiling this point. But yes, you were correct.
You're a sharp viewer. But like everyone else, you too were fooled by that sort of fake of ending. It gets everyone and everyone screams NO!!! But it might as well be the end, as all we get is that the Roci and the missle are frozen. This was an episode that had me loading up the next one right after finishing. Quite a few Expanse episodes create that urgency 😂

    • @MattNolanCustom
      @MattNolanCustom 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

The actual cliffhanger is far better than the fake-out cliffhanger. If it ended after the first one you would just want to know did they survive or not. That's pretty limiting. With the second one you find out that they survived but now what? So many more possibilities to imagine. That's a much better cliffhanger. The Expanse is masterful with this.

As others have said, you've got some really good insights about what's going on at this point...although definitely not accurate. 😀. Don't worry about not knowing what's going on. Ni ine does at this point. Answers will start coming. At least some answers. And more questions.

this is a reaction channel. It is about the reaction to the show, and the parts that the reactor finds salient, not really about the show. There are also time constraints due to copyright rules. If you want to see different parts of the show go find it on a streaming platform or blu-ray.
