    Thanks for the great tutorial. Masks are an area of ON1 that I needed the most help with. They are so powerful once you get to know what tool to use where. I love ON1 by the way. I wish I had learnt about it years ago.

    Thank you very much for this clear and understandible video! As a non-american I have trouble following Dan’s quick and VERY american speak. The speak here is at a pace and a tone that I can follow. Please do more.

    Thank you guys for doing this video. I have been needing a longer more detailed masking tutorial for a long time. Now maybe I can finally be more comfortable using On1 instead of Adobe for all my images. May I suggest more detailed videos like this one in the future due to the many features of this program. Also, maybe an addon feature to quickly create TH-cam thumbnails and Facebook banners where the sizes are pre set so all we would have to do is add the content within those borders and not have to worry about making the correct sizes that will show up properly on their platforms. Adobe introduced a really quick and easy program called Adobe Express to create fast thumbnails, logos etc. I think that would round off On1 nicely. Now if there is already a way to do this, please show us how. Thanks again and I look forward to using On1 more in my photography editing!

    Great Video.. saw some tips I didn’t know especially the double click on the chisel mask! Something I looked for from the adobe tools which allow you to remove the mask edge by pixels.

    Excellent masking tips. You really showed how to use the tools efficiently. I liked the shift click for straights. And perfect brush with big size. The refine brush with hair is still difficult for me. Similar to hair are some fine foliage and flower parts.

    Very helpful refresher, thank you Dylan. With the improvements to the healing brush coming in the new update it would be great to have a similar deep dive into the overall tips for using that tool, not just the new features. I have always struggled to get satisfactory results when I use that tool, even though it seems so straightforward in the past instructional videos I have watched.

    super tuto. great tools. We sometimes have grey clouds... on mask. When can we expect to have a overlay mode in brush to remove highlights from mask without touching dark zones and reciprocally. This tool with dodge and burn tools with shadows, highlights, mid,... are the tools i use the most in photoshop selections. We ask that mode for years. adding fake furs brushes on animals rough selection would be nice too.

    • @davidorlando8831
      @davidorlando8831 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you tried the protect Highlights and protect Shadows sliders under the Blend Modes menu? Those usually work for me to reduce the adjustment/effect without actually touching the mask. Otherwise I often start with a luminosity mask, and paint away the areas I don't care about using these mask tools, adjusting the mask density if necessary.

    Excellent video! They are so helpful. As soon as nonoise rivals DXO Deeprime noise reduction, my workflow will stick with ON1. Nonoise is very close, to my eye. Keep up the good work and the improvements!

    Hi,
    I have requested to refine mask , paint in /out before applying any filter , the preview should be as precise as final result , hope I will get that in upcoming update.

    • @ON1Photo
      @ON1Photo  ปีที่แล้ว

      It won't be in the .1 update yet. We do have some improvements in the update after that though

    • @Martingj56
      @Martingj56 ปีที่แล้ว

      While you make the use of the refine brush very easy I keep struggling with it and would probably loose the hair even with paint in set. Therefor my question is where you start painting in in order to get the background structure?

  • @thomasmeili5087

    Thank you. This is helpful indeed. Instigated new hope to be finally able to efficiently control the halos on the edges of AI resp. edge detecting masks. Even though I have studied the manual, I have overlooked the option to apply the chisel to the entire mask by double clicking on the icon. Will have to try that... Maybe you can expand on this in another video?

    • @ON1Photo
      @ON1Photo  ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you clean up a mask that was created with the super select tool ?

      Once the mask is created and the effect is applied, just use any of the masking tools to clean up the mask
