    AR actually moves the spool: a smaller ratio will spool quicker, but make less boost at high rpm, a bigger one is lazier, but will flow better

    • @2011chitsazzadeha
      @2011chitsazzadeha 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Small correction, just because knowledge is good. A smaller A/R will actually make more boost at high RPM, but have much lower airflow resulting in less horsepower. It makes more boost at high RPM because boost is a measure of restriction and a small a/r will result in exhaust restriction. There are many reasons for this, but this is enough detail for a youtube comment.

Right now youve got the perfect balance of video demand and video supply and youre doing everything exactly right. whenever I think "You know I havent watched a rob dahm video in a minute." - you post. the length of the videos are perfect and spare us the boring parts. If you upload mote frequently of the more tedious things, youre going to get less views because a lot of people dont want to see the boring stuff (not me of course). I think you should just continue to do exactly what youre doing and dont change anything. maybe save the more frequent uploads for patreon

Pretty much anyone building a 4 rotor needs boost to exceed 450hp. They were able to hit almost 700 NA. That motor, in theory would easily reach 1500 Hp at 20-25 pounds of boost.

    TODAY!!! On Billet Bob Dahm Show:
    We add turbo system that does not exist to engine that does not exist. And yes. That will make Lotta Power.
    Also we really need 3D scanned 4-rotor Eccentric Shaft.

    Rob you've always been such a cool dude. I'm so excited with all these build videos and I cannot wait for this 4 rotor to come ROARING to life even just on that stand. Love you dude, keep showing the world us Robs are bad ass individuals. :D

    Keep in mind that A/R is just a ratio of the area vs the radius of the housing. Even though the Tial housing has a higher A/R it may not necessarily outflow the T6 housing that Garrett included on your turbo. I am not as familiar with the newer V-band housings from Tial, but it very well could be a similar housing flow-wise, or potentially something in between a T4 and a T6 housing. So you might get more response, at the cost of top end performance compared to your original housing, even though the A/R is greater.

      This is why we offer twice as many A/R in v-band housings than our competitor.......

    Next time youre putting in freeze plugs add a small bead of red thread locker, ive had some come out on bigger cats and cummins, but still its nice to know it wont go anywhere especially on your nice ass 4 rotor

    Just hope you accomplish what you want Rob. I own a turbo car and can only wonder the performance I could get out of it if I had the funds.
