My box bottoms collection is really coming along. I have most the of the ones from Topps at this point. Still lacking a lot of the Fleers. But the joy of junk wax is you can chase those “sets” so cheap. And Browning sitting on the rooftop across the street from Wrigley is legendary in Cincinnati, but let’s just say manager Davey Johnson seemed less than amused. Great quote from Kevin Mitchell about it. “Reds left fielder Kevin Mitchell homered twice during the game, and he told Hal McCoy of the Dayton Daily News that after one homer, he saw someone in a Reds jersey waving at him from across the street. It wasn't until he returned to the dugout that he discovered it was his teammate. "I'm glad I didn't see him before I batted because I was laughing so hard I couldn't have hit," Mitchell said. "I thought it was great. It loosens everybody up."

Here is some more information on the Scoremasters set. They could only be bought as a mail order complete set. I see them from time-to-time in dime boxes, but not often. Sportflics never received the love they deserve. Regarding position conversions involving pitchers, google Mel Queen and Rick Ankiel. Is there update on a 68 Claude Osteen headed my way?
I think you’re right about Sportflics. Ankiel is the poster child for changing over, and he actually did so pretty well. And he had a cannon for an arm from the OF. I had to look up Mel Queen. Looking at his stats, it made sense for him to switch. Dude could not hit. Is there anything (players, teams) that you want me to look for to add in with the Osteen? I’ve been holding off sending it hoping to find something for you. I can check for some surprises for you if you give me some direction. I’m happy to add a few more.
