David was a random impuIsive hire by Ben 5 years after Amy and Ben had made Ev music, and he was around for only two years. Ben, who hired him, said his exit was because he didn't fit Ev's music and tried to pull it in another direction (which was reported to be Christian music as David's is a devout formally religious Christian and worked within the Christian music scene). He was just one of a number of session/tour players Ben hired back then when Ev was the duo of Amy and Ben. A bunch of demos that they compiled and packaged in 2000 to show record labels when they were looking to get signed (which was labeled "Origin") were songs Amy and Ben had written years before, including Imaginary, My Immortal, Whisper, Even in Death, Where Will You Go.

I’m kind of glad this exists just because it made me listen to this song / the lyrics again. I also loved the beginning. The end was a bit much at times but I think he really showed restraint when necessary and captured the epicness of the original song towards the end. I could hear his intent
