The stats on men being better with loans....kidogo is skewed. I've personally done research in Kenya and in Siaya and Bungoma where I was stationed, women are more prudent with loan money in every aspect: security they offer, payments, the use of the cash...etc. It is why NGOs and Microfinance institutions in those areas will give loans to women and not men. It was a very surprising finding since the conventional wisdom is that men have better access to loans than women and would get bigger loans. but by and large, most places now prefer giving women loans and they are less risky than men
