Quality re-build by a competent mechanic who lays every component out neatly is a joy to see ! As Philipp say's, preventive maintenance is the key for a successful holiday at the Nurburgring. Much enjoy these style of vlogs, many thanks.
He is very right about maintenance of the car...my dad has an audi a4 b5 1.9TDI(17years old), it has ~560k km and had no problems with it, just usual maintenance when it is due and driving like a normal person would do. The only problem we had was the cluch pressure plate (i think) snapped at about 360k km. The other things work fine, no rebuild, not eating oil no nothing
And another blogger advocating not skipping maintenance schedules. Glad to see you doing this, as there are a number of people who worry about the tiny amounts without thinking about the major expense when things come apart. Even if the car never sees a track, regular maintenance is a must to save your wallet. Well done Misha.
I have so much respect for the mechanics who put everything apart and then be able to put everything back together. I would be totally lost in such a situation. Would be my chemical desaster instead my chemical romance. First bad joke of the day
I agree with all the comments. This makes this sort of project look doable (scary, but doable). I think we all wish for an amazing garage to be able to perform such projects. I actually like you walking around to your neighbors Misha. I did't realize that there were so many places so close to you. See, taking a break from driving can be good! ;) Well....
And a other great vlog, It's inspiring to see how he puts so much time and passion into his car. I would love to work at the Nürgburgring one day especially thanks to your volgs from this amazing place
Phillip is amazing👌 The last two trips to the ring we had Some probleem with our cars. Philips help was amazing, great fun Also. The second weekend was a slow day So got the full Tour. Had a great time eventough the car was fucked😅
Philipp: Glad to see you're doing some serious work to Inka. I've got to sell a few of my cars here in the states and I'll be E46 shopping in Germany.. and then dropping it off with you.
REAL CONTENT FOR REAL CAR PEOPLE. I could watch a Misha VLOG everyday. Even twice a day. This channel feels like a community. No hate on this channel, Supercar/shitbox/New/Old/JDM/Euro, etc. It's all welcome #Carmrades . All these rich youtuber assholes acting stupid hoping 12 year olds hit subscribe. Great content & Great people. Misha, Robert, Dyana, Tim, Tom & everyone else THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Could Phillip feature in the next Summit vlog? Would be a good location, a lot of car knowledge, plus the casting couch would feature the vlog as well... 🤔
As always, a lot of usefull info in your Vlogs! I'm about to buy a suspension for my E46 M3 and I'm really looking for an advice from someone experienced... This is a pure fun-car with full interior, not a typical track tool (I have another car for that purpose). So the thing is that M3 is mostly used on public roads (not always perfectly smooth), but I'm planning to drive it around Nordschleife this year as well. I'm looking for a coilovers advice- I'd rather have it a bit too soft for the ring, but capable on the road, than perfect on the ring, but unpredictable and too stiff on the bumpy roads (not gravel rally of course...). So I was wondering: -KW v2/v3 -KW Clubsport -Bilstein B16 -Ohlins Road and Track -GAZ Gold -ST XTA I would be more than gratefull for your advices. Cheers
Hahaha BMW water pump issues, I'm literally waiting for mine new one to come in. Preaching to the choir. I've had lots of trouble with my water system actually.
I was wondering a couple weeks ago what happened to the orange BMW. You really have to do your Maintenance, but there is no substitute for sheer luck...
Ian Barford Final drive is already changed to a 3.64 ratio with a Drexler LSD, 5-speed is running into rev limiter, that’s why 6-speed will give me more flex in the gears
The one and only RingHamster nice👌🏻 pretty much what I plan for my m54b30 compact project with m3 rear axle and 6sp m3 box. I think I’ll need to save up for a good while for a Drexel’s diff 😳
Hi, great video can I ask you for your thoughts on new BMW service intervals. I've just bought an m240 and BMW say you don't need to service it for 20,000 miles, this seems crazy to me and I'm planning on paying for a service at 1,500. Do you think this is a good idea or a waste of money??
Simon Nelson 1500 is too soon. Like we said, oil should be done around 5000 track km. Which is about 3000 miles. Road use just stick to the dealer schedule
Hi Misha, thanks for getting back to me👍 I didn't explain very well I meant to ask about my cars first oil change, BMW say the first doesn't have to be done for 20,000 but I think that's too long.
John B good evening :) Never had any issues on the 330 with oil temperature. If it would be necessary I’d take the E46 M3 S54 filter housing and the oil cooler. Fits plug and play ;)
+The one and only RingHamster - many thanks for your reply and very interesting. Have you completed many multiple laps without any oil temp issues? Sorry to bombard you with questions, do you stick with the original fan for radiator cooling or use an override/manual switch
Sergey Puliaiev hello Sergey, specs are following Öhlins TTX Suspension Wiechers FIA Cage Motec 9x17 Drexler Differential Stock brakes with Dixcel pads Recaro seats Carbon roof/bonnet/boot Fibreglass Doors Makrolon Windows Lots of small stuff Have a look on insta @oldschoolbimmers there is more stuff about the car :)
Are you gonna make some gaming videos? Maybe Project Cars 2, NFS, maybe something else... Maybe not a whole video, like 10 minutes of the vlog would be nice, I guess
A tonne of BMW car maintenance knowledge here, hugely useful and will shut people up who says BMW are unreliable, they just don't maintain them well
MTC0316 fucking oath mate.
you can say a car is reliable when you doesn't maintain it so well. most cars are reliable with the maintainance they need...
You are the non-stop carvlogger!
Thanks for the video misha!
Quality re-build by a competent mechanic who lays every component out neatly is a joy to see !

Philipp it's a very nice guy. Every time you talk with him, it's always funny and helpful! Thanks for sharing ;-)
Marcello Rava you are absolutely right. I thought the exact same thing
He is very right about maintenance of the car...my dad has an audi a4 b5 1.9TDI(17years old), it has ~560k km and had no problems with it, just usual maintenance when it is due and driving like a normal person would do. I'm happy that you manage to put out more interesting videos in the winter than in the summer when you're based around the Nurnburgring 😀
Philip is the man!
So much car/mechanical car sense from Phillip. Top man and an honest mechanic, a rare breed.
That stock clutch is looking amazing after 14 years!
Waterpumps they suck at, but my god that's quality right there.
And another blogger advocating not skipping maintenance schedules. Glad to see you doing this, as there are a number of people who worry about the tiny amounts without thinking about the major expense when things come apart. I really do like very much these winter videos! Very much indeed!
Love these kinda of videos! So informative esp from someone like the owner doing a full rebuild! MORE! Of this please

So cool to hear him talk about the e46. I have done all the maintenance on mine myself and I have still have sooooo much to learn!
And a other great vlog, It's inspiring to see how he puts so much time and passion into his car.
I would love to work at the Nürgburgring one day especially thanks to your volgs from this amazing place
Never gets boring, loving each video. Keep it Up!
The state of that car after 14 years is brilliant to say the least.
Phillip is amazing👌
The last two trips to the ring we had Some probleem with our cars. Philips help was amazing, great fun Also.
The second weekend was a slow day So got the full Tour. Had a great time eventough the car was fucked😅
God damn. Even the way he's taken everything apart and laid it all out is impressive.
Philipp: Glad to see you're doing some serious work to Inka. I've got to sell a few of my cars here in the states and I'll be E46 shopping in Germany.. and then dropping it off with you.
Please follow this rebuild. Thumbs up it
Nothing like a BMW 6 zylinder engine when it comes to reliable! These tings are just bulletproof.
Brilliant video. Just shows the very solid build quality of BMW

casting couch??? .... OK -.-
I’d like to add the S54 in the M3 (E46) & Z4M needs replacing rod bearings - no matter how well it’s serviced. Absolutely before 200kkm!!
Philipp is a badass
YES! More E46 prepping please!

Thanks for the informative video! Interesting to hear about the wear and tear on race cars and how you can keep them up in tip top condition!
Please more with Phillip and his awesome BMW's
fun video this proves you cannot slack on your maintenance if your planning on using it on track days
It's interesting how everybody is saying change the water pump ASAP on e36/46s and this is the original one for 300K + track use.
thats incredible the mileage out of the stock engine and how good condition its still in!
Learned a lot about BMW maintenance. I wish BMW parts and services are that cheap at my country!
Phillip is a man. .... ups smb has already wrote it.... but he is. thx Misha
yay Philip!
I enjoyed this video alot, lekker bezig mischa!
I've never had a coolant leak on my 86 911. :)
Misha please do more video's like this.
Shout out to all the UK people who's cars have broke down on nurburgring trips 😣😣
Philipp pakt het grondig aan, beter voorkomen dan genezen, goed uitgangspunt.

More content on this E46 M3 please !
I’m curious as to the 6sp gearbox? Is philipp altering the final drive necessitating the extra cog? As commented below, great winter vlogs 👍
Ian Barford Final drive is already changed to a 3.64 ratio with a Drexler LSD, 5-speed is running into rev limiter, that’s why 6-speed will give me more flex in the gears

The one and only RingHamster hello i have an alpinab3 with 3.38 final ratio can i have an drexler lsd for my e46 and how much will that cost me?
Love the vids containing BMW's. Question, how many calendars does that dude need? Omg
James Reiter Mostly because I got them as a present and I like the pictures on them :)

+Misha Choudrin - Next time you're with Philip could you ask him about additional oil cooler on the 330, his car doesn't seem to have one
John B good evening :) Never had any issues on the 330 with oil temperature. If it would be necessary I’d take the E46 M3 S54 filter housing and the oil cooler. Fits plug and play ;)

Dimitar Hristov no time for it :(
200 Euro for an oil change!
Southney that always depends on the amount of oil and which oil 😉 5W-30 is for example cheaper then 10W-60...
