- Another year is in the books, and what a year for sneakers it has been. 2021 continued to see the rise in popularity of New Balance, Dunks continued to dominate the market, but we also saw a flurry of very creative, well thought out and meaningful collaborations too. For this video I'm ranking my favourite twenty sneaker pickups of the year, and it wasn't an easy task. Check it out, comment down below and let me know if you agree or disagree! Enjoy!

Love my UNC Dunk lows. Idk but i felt extremely happy when i hit a raffle dub on these joints. I was on high longer as compared to hitting on both AMM 1s and 3s. The only reason i could think of was getting a raffle W is next to impossible wc made it more special. Anybody could grab the a ma manieres as long as preparations were made.
This is going to be my yearly tradition, to appreciate the hard work, videography, and unbiased info that you dish out on a CONSISTENT basis with your channel. Steady list, personal favorite of mine has to be the NB 2002R in the rain cloud colorway. What a great pair. It was close with the NB&ALD 993 B&B. So comfortable and easy to style both. Keep it up! Peace ✌🏽

Great list Sean! Personally I have Patta AM1s In the top 5. Subtle changes but love the Aqua and Monarch CWs. And I have never doubled up on a shoe before the AMM 3s but had to do it, especially for retail. To me it’s the best Jordan release since the Union 1s. Parra dunks were my dunk of the year by far too. Bacon AM90s and the olive UNDFTD AF1 were my underrated pickups this year. Was looking forward to this video Sean! Keep up the great work as always, thank you for the always accurate sizing advice and wishing you more continued success and retail cops in 2022!
Great picks, Sean. Respect for you for picking the Chinese Food Dunk! Apparently vintage is the theme for this year! There basically ain’t many shoes that don’t have yellowed midsole (The only exception being the Yeezy foam runner). The fact that many hot shoes this year have deconstructed look also speaks volumes about Virgil’s impact on sneaker culture. The Off-White Two looks so special considering that Virgil must have designed it when he probably knew his finally days were coming soon, and the Two somehow has a dead-and-alive again aesthetic. Personally I look forward to more diversity in terms of design aesthetic and silhouette next year. (May the 2022 List have less Dunks and Ones PLEASE!!!)

As a big fan of Dunks, I have the Currys in my top 10. I think the Parra Abstract Arts are my sneaker of the year. Also, historically not a fan of Crocs but Salehe Bembury's collab was pretty unique and would be in my top 20.

1’s are my favorite snkr silhouette so the AMM 1’s were my top pick up! Absolutely love wearing something with a meaningful story behind it, the quality and colorway was on point for me and the fact it was such a fair release made it easy to give it the number one. However, if 3’s were my favorite silhouette the AMM 3’s would have been my top one for the same reasons.

Hey Sean, Great comment you made about the shoe of the year needs to be more accessible to the public. I thought James Whitner did a fanatic job with how the AMM1 and AMM3 was released. Surprised the Jordan 1 trophy room and fragment sacai waffle didn’t make your top 20. Great video. Been an amazing year following all your review videos!

I would definitely have put one of the orange-midsoled Yeezy 700's, and a personal favorite of mine - the NB 992 "Blue Silver Metallic", which looks so dope and so different from the other colorways
Had to sub up cause these are quality videos with quality content
A Ma Maniere Jordans were a delight to cop and I appreciate what they did for us manual users. I was able to double up (me and my girl) for each pair. The 3's are my top pick for this year

Awesome 👏 list brother! There’s a few pairs that I don’t really like but I know this is your list so, to each his own. But the main one that I strongly disagree with is the Parra x Nike air max. I do not like those sneakers 👟. That’s my opinion tho. If you like it that’s cool. I ain’t hating. My favorite release has got to be the Nike x TS x Fragment AJ1 High. Great video! I think I would add Beluga RF v2 to the list simply for one of the reasons you gave AMM3 the best spot. The fact one of the most iconic 350s re-released and in high quantities was awesome.
I wouldn't make it a #1, but top 20 for sure. Otherwise I'd say you were spot on. Nike had a lot of great collabs, but honestly NB and Yeezy took a lot more risks doing some wild stuff that I'm 100% for.

Love your list Sean! In my list I would replace the University Blue 1s, Supreme dunks, mummy dunks, & the mid curry dunks for these: UNDFTD af1 5-on-it, Sacai Frag wolf greys, Bacon 90s, New Balance ALD 993.

Dunk of the year award goes to the Street Hawker 😍
I'd swap the Carpets for the Supreme dunks in a heartbeat. Not a fan of the star design, whilst the Carpets were easily the best skate brand dunk of the year (which speaks to me as a skater, and are my SOTY.) I also have monarchs over noise aqua, and much higher up the list. The Neutral Grey lows deserve some love, they're my beaters. I love the highs, but I wear the lows so much more often. Great list regardless, and looking forward to 2022 ✌
The Parra’s are my favorite sneaker of the year… Cool Grey 11’s are my favorite I was at least able to cop.
Good list, only thing I would change is taking out the parra dunk and replacing it with the off white Nike dunk low “50”
Those Travis are mediocre and cheesy to me otherwise decent list. Def on the hype side which is fine. Don’t like the dunks all that much though the Mummy is cool. Seems like A Ma Maniere stole your heart this year. Thanks for sharing bro and Happy New Year!

Great list nuderles for me the nr. 1 Sneaker has to be the A ma maniere air Jordan 1as Im not a fan of the 3s at all. The color way is wonderful but the 3s not for me. Hopefully they take on the Jordan 4 next year with the design language of the a ma maniere 3. Its interesting for a while I wasn't sure about this years releases as in some communities 2021 was pretty harshly taken on and some even thought this year kinda sucked but reflecting on all the heat that dropped this statement couldn't be more off

Pretty spot on list here Sean! I might have had the patta ams a tad higher but other than that hard to disagree with any of it! (Maybe minus gundam sbs and bacons as u pointed out) And yes amm3 was hands down the soty no question!
Great list. Did you say hundreds of pairs you had to go through haha wauw I only picked up 8 sneakers. At least all my favorites where on the list. I think the Parra dunks or the Travis Scott lows are my favorites. Still not there yet. 1 TS Fragments/ Parra dunks 3. Patta monarchs doubled up on those. 4 AJ manieres and 5 A ma manieres 3's and yes I like the ones more then the 3's.
There is a question. Is the comfort level of 990V5 and 990V3 the same? Is there any difference in foot feel between the two? Because I already have V5, I am hesitant to buy V3.

I sound like such a normie at this point but I completely agree the AMM 3s are the SOTY. So blessed to have been able to cop, and I've been wearing the shit out of them. Going to be a timeless part of the rotation for many many years to come.
My favorite sneaker this year although I have yet to pick up is the Nike air max 2021, kind of weird yet futuristic looking
A fine list: my main "if only" moment was with the Street Hawkers: just can't pull off mismatched shoes, even if each individual one is a masterpiece, as in the case of this pair...
How did you grow your sneaker collection? You have so much heat sneakers, do you pay resell for most of them or nah?

I'm not gonna lie, my tastes in sneakers are probably not shared by anyone else.
I appreciate how much more hype New Balance is getting, but my favorite sneaker brand is Vans. So, I understand that my opinion isn't very popular.
With that being said, I think you made a great top 20 list!
There are a few things I disagree with.
First, I wouldn't even put the AMM3 in my top 20. Second, I prefer the Travis Scott Fragment Jordan 1 high over the lows. Third, the Yeezy NSLTD BT and Knit Rnnr Bt are both in my top 5.
Fourth, I would have put the Kiwi 992s in the top 10 but maybe that's just because I really like kiwis 😅🥝. And last, my top 20 would have about 5 pairs of Vans in it.
My favorite sneaker of 2021 is a Vans SK8 high collaboration with Mastermind World.

My top 10 for 2021 in no order:
1) Yeezy 700 v1 Enflame Amber
2) LeBron 8 South Beach Retro
3) Air Jordan 1 Volt Gold
4) Yeezy 700 v1 Faded Azure
5) Nike Dunk Low Georgetown
6) Air Jordan 4 Taupe Haze
7) Nike SB Dunk Low Mummy
8) Yeezy 350 v2 Light OR mx Oat
9) Air Jordan 1 Patent Leather Bred
10) Yeezy 380 Alien Blue
Nice picks, a lot of them are truly great. But I have to disagree, the AMM3s were not exactly available for everyone to cop, as with most of the NB releases. The only ones I consider that the consumers had a shot at were the Patta 1's.
Everything else, you'd better have a show plug to cop a pair. But your 20 selections here were definitely on point. The only shoes I hit on retail were the Parra Dunks, a freak snkrs miracle haha. My AJ1 Grey's, I had to bite the resale price as it was a must cop for me.
Well let’s just say that AMM3 were MUCH more accessible and people had a way higher chance of buying than your typical Off-White / Travis / whatever else hyped shoe in the past couple years.
@@SeanGo That is true, when compared to other recent hype releases. This was a shoe, aside from the AJ1 grays, that I really wanted to get my hands on. But the resale price right now is just too high for me and I had to resort to copping reps to ease the pain of the L lol

Good list, I would generally agree, but replace the Supreme Dunks with the Mummy Dunks. To me, that was the best Dunk of the year. Enough that I paid resell for them.

I dont think the Pattas are a controversial take at all. I think all four CWs are deserving of a place in the best sneakers of this year. And thank you for placing the Travis lows above the highs. I was very disapointed with Complex’s top ten

I personally thought the Off-White Dunks and J2s were hot Garbage and that re-releases/retros should NOT be in top sneaker lists, but other than that, pretty solid list and definitely a great year for sneakers in 2021!

I mean I think it depends on the sneaker cause if u take the cool greys....this year was the first time it's been released in this form or shape since 01....how many people have been born and became sneaker enthusiast...it's honestly I new sneaker to them....now compare that to carmine 6 which it's 3 times release since 08, where the only real change was adding Nike air to make it seem more og...but still had the same quality defects of the past few release...that shouldn't be considered

Everyone has his own opinion but for me I would never ever put any sneakers above OG . For me the carmine 6s is the shoe of the year however I am not a fan of 6s Also in my top 10 cool grey 11 is the second and the lighting 4s is somewhere in my top 10
I'm following Nightwing's lead and I'm disqualifying all the shoes that were pretty much impossible to get from my list.
The A Ma Maniere Jordan 3 was absolutely not an obtainable shoe, btw. At least not outside of North America. I know more people who managed to get the Travis Scott Jordan 1 low for retail than people who managed to get the A Ma Maniere Jordan 3.
Can only speak of my personal experience, and a good chunk of people I know managed to score at least one, if not two pairs of AMM3. Which is incredible considering most can’t even get a general release Dunk from Foot Locker lol.
