Champs seems alright, definitely think it's gonna struggle a bit into early game matchups, but with the amount of AOE he has, his scaling is gonna be unbelievable.

From a design perspective I really love how rito has recently been making more champs that are straight up feral animals/mythical creatures instead of anthropomorphized half human versions of them. I love the designs of this new champ and Naafiri. I just wish they gave Smolder a cuter dragonish face, it looks like they tried way too hard to make his face humanoid
he looks like a weird bat goblin in-game which is whack but at least seems like something, the animated teaser and splash art are just uncomfortably baby faced tho.

Yeah most “enhanced” damage shows up with the crit indicator, anivia E, aatrox sweetspot, karthus q, morde q, and I think Nidalee’s Takedown if they’re marked could be wrong on that one though because my spears tend to miss (its not my fault i swear)
The way I see it, his ult doesn't "crit" but it's just a way to show, that the center part hit. Like Anivia E also "crits" when the enemy was hit by q or ult beforehand. It's not a real crit, but the number is shown in such a way.

Let me know if I missed something. Smolder is a tanky (look at his hp) adc with burn, with execute, attacks lowest hp champ, can heal, has splash or AoE dmg, can ignore terrain and is infinite stacking champ, is that what you are telling me?
Was expecting a lot worse when I first saw the reveal but this looks surprisingly tame and fun, except the aoe max hp true damage burn + execute on his spammable main spell but depending on how fast he actually scales might not even be the worst there is in league. Pretty sure manamune will be a god send item on him imo

I am not happy with the direction they took visually, it just feels like every other champion riot makes it has to be a fresh-eyed bordering naive happy-go-lucky champ. However, the kit looks super duper fun, which is the most important part especially in a game where half the adc roster feels the exact same.
Not really. I can easily see any marksman with a little mobility such as Tristana or Kai'sa could body them easy enough if they are ahead. It seems he's the markman version of Aurelion Sol if you think about it and will be really weak in the early game.

I'm not sure why riot keeps releasing non traditional marksman (they literally said that's what they want to do and are doing) when the reason us all adc players like marksman is bc we like autoattack mechanics and everything associated with it. This is not the way to bring back popularity to adc. Not at all. Soloq impact is, whether other roles whine or not, and whether pro goes back to adc prio like it was before 2017.

And I don't blame them there's no better get-out skill, it'll be stupid not to use it for escaping, if Vayne could jump over the big terrain like Talon that champ would be permanently banned for sure.
well he doesnt appear to have any explicit level scaling. So there doesnt appear to be much benefit from solo laning if his primary scaling comes from just landing his q

There’s actually a lot of caster marksmen. There’s ezreal, sivir, xayah, nilah, varus, zeri?, and Caitlyn. Samira too kinda. Regardless, he looks fun and doesn’t seem super overloaded like all of the other recent marksmen.
That E is broken. Going over terrain while constantly attacking people, at more movespeed. Crazy concept. It's like Kaisa E and Akshan E had a baby and it's broken. Especially with free elder drake passive
idk if its broken yet. many champions has dashes nowadays, at this point its almost a basic thing. honestly im happy that it appears quite a simple champion to play and balance, doesnt look like his abilities are going to have 3 pages just to explain it.
@@PedroHenrique-gr4zr It's not just a dash. It's cross-terrain and with a speed increase. While still attacking. I guess it's closer to say that this is Urgot W with Talon E mixed with Kaisa E. Movespeed steroid, attacking at increased attackspeed and ignoring terrain. Putting that on an ADC is crazy. Zeri was the last one to have terrain-ignore and she was nerfed a million times.

Yeah, the amount of AOE (and extra effects like execute) he has isn't healthy if his numbers are overtuned... AOE damage is a cheat code on marksmen, which is why Jinx late game with rocket launcher Q is one of the best late game ad carries you can have... Hitting the tank frontline and simoultanously destroying everything around him basically wins you any team fight.

Fiora isnt weak in the early game. She is supposed to be a duelist, Strong in one vs ones but lackluster in teamfights. Smolder is the exact opposite. Both are hyperscaling though i admit that.
Would have liked him to get bigger/older as he scales since that seems to be his theme but i guess making multiple models and rigs would have cost money...
@@test12593 Ezreal is caster adc and one of his most consistent build is with lethality mythic, Lethality Varus build is also pretty much a caster around his Q, Cait lethality is also casterish. In general, I want to see if he will fall into this category.

You'd say that, but it's a very slow, pretty low range dash. Just because he has mobility doesn't make him safe. Think of Corki, for example.

love the E and R, very cool new/fresh concepts. W is alright, Q is alright, but don't know if we needed another Asol execute on an adc

Yeah most “enhanced” damage shows up with the crit indicator, anivia E, aatrox sweetspot, karthus q, morde q, and I think Nidalee’s Takedown if they’re marked could be wrong on that one though because my spears tend to miss (its not my fault i swear)

The way I see it, his ult doesn't "crit" but it's just a way to show, that the center part hit. Like Anivia E also "crits" when the enemy was hit by q or ult beforehand. It's not a real crit, but the number is shown in such a way.
I mean anivia does twice the damage hitting e after frost

The things isn't about if the damage is double or not. it is about if you gain more dmg buying crit @Mindfever20

Let me know if I missed something. Smolder is a tanky (look at his hp) adc with burn, with execute, attacks lowest hp champ, can heal, has splash or AoE dmg, can ignore terrain and is infinite stacking champ, is that what you are telling me?

Was expecting a lot worse when I first saw the reveal but this looks surprisingly tame and fun, except the aoe max hp true damage burn + execute on his spammable main spell but depending on how fast he actually scales might not even be the worst there is in league. Pretty sure manamune will be a god send item on him imo

Stacks the same with veigar, except he has a much more consistent way of stacking off of minions. Could see him hitting max form in like 20 minutes.

I am not happy with the direction they took visually, it just feels like every other champion riot makes it has to be a fresh-eyed bordering naive happy-go-lucky champ. Not really. I can easily see any marksman with a little mobility such as Tristana or Kai'sa could body them easy enough if they are ahead. It seems he's the markman version of Aurelion Sol if you think about it and will be really weak in the early game.

I'm not sure why riot keeps releasing non traditional marksman (they literally said that's what they want to do and are doing) when the reason us all adc players like marksman is bc we like autoattack mechanics and everything associated with it. This is not the way to bring back popularity to adc. Not at all. Soloq impact is, whether other roles whine or not, and whether pro goes back to adc prio like it was before 2017.

There’s actually a lot of caster marksmen. There’s ezreal, sivir, xayah, nilah, varus, zeri?, and Caitlyn. Samira too kinda.
Regardless, he looks fun and doesn’t seem super overloaded like all of the other recent marksmen.

That E is broken. Going over terrain while constantly attacking people, at more movespeed. Crazy concept. It's like Kaisa E and Akshan E had a baby and it's broken. Especially with free elder drake passive
idk if its broken yet. many champions has dashes nowadays, at this point its almost a basic thing. honestly im happy that it appears quite a simple champion to play and balance, doesnt look like his abilities are going to have 3 pages just to explain it.
@@PedroHenrique-gr4zr It's not just a dash. It's cross-terrain and with a speed increase. While still attacking. I guess it's closer to say that this is Urgot W with Talon E mixed with Kaisa E. Movespeed steroid, attacking at increased attackspeed and ignoring terrain. Putting that on an ADC is crazy. Zeri was the last one to have terrain-ignore and she was nerfed a million times.

Yeah, the amount of AOE (and extra effects like execute) he has isn't healthy if his numbers are overtuned... AOE damage is a cheat code on marksmen, which is why Jinx late game with rocket launcher Q is one of the best late game ad carries you can have... Hitting the tank frontline and simoultanously destroying everything around him basically wins you any team fight.

i expected him to be a mage but AD caster is cool too. Not sure how strong the R will be but I'm hoping it's not TOO ridiculous. E might be annoying to fact seeing as he can go through terrain easily, I suppose it comes down to how long the CD for it is, hoping it isn't something spammable or it'd be too annoying.

The weak early is literally why hyper scalers are well designed. If you don't know how to shut down these champs it's a skill issue
Fiora isnt weak in the early game. She is supposed to be a duelist, Strong in one vs ones but lackluster in teamfights. Smolder is the exact opposite. Both are hyperscaling though i admit that.

@@test12593 Ezreal is caster adc and one of his most consistent build is with lethality mythic, Lethality Varus build is also pretty much a caster around his Q, Cait lethality is also casterish. In general, I want to see if he will fall into this category.
