I know small towns are a cozy "thing". But, I really enjoy cozies that aren't set in small towns. Cozies are about relationships. And you can have relationships in a variety of places. Definitely gonna check out some of the series.
While many cozies take place in small towns, there are plenty set in larger cities! Have you read the Coffee House Mystery Series by Cleo Coyle? That's set in NYC AND features great relationship dynamics between the main heroine and her daughter + ex husband!
Ooh how wonderful! Haven’t watched this yet but just had to jump on and say this video is a perfect combination of two of my favourite things - cosy mysteries and Halloween (not the gore filled horror fest but the spooky witchy candy filled kind)! So thank you so much for this you make the best videos!
They all sound great. Rose Pressy has a series called Haunted Tour Guide Mystery. I think it was one of my first cozies. The main character is a tour guide and I think she is also a librarian although I could be confusing that with another book. I really need to get back to this author since I read quite a few and there are a lot left for me to read.
I know this is an old video but I’m a new subscriber and very new to cozy mysteries. Yours is the only video I was interested in and ordered the first book on heather blake wishcraft series. I LOVE IT!!! I have about 70 pages left and I couldn’t help but order second book!
Love the wishcraft series! Even though I’ve only read the first book lol. On an unrelated note, have you ever considered doing a bookshelf tour? I’m nosy and want to see your cozy mystery collections 😂
Lol right now my books are scattered in different places in my house which is why I’ve held off! 🙈 When I finally get them together on one shelf I’ll definitely do a tour!
Oh, goodness, I love your channel! I jus discovered it, so I'm way behind, but I have def subbed! Thank you so much for some lovely recs! Do you ever do SF or horror? I poked around a little and didn't see any, but I wasn't thorough at all.
Welcome on in! I don’t read much fantasy or SF but have been looking to get more into it. Any recs would be welcome! I can also point you to some TH-camrs if you’re looking for SF/F!
I'm VERY late to the party here, but would like to mention my favorite paranormal series since we're coming up to spooky season yet again. If you haven't yet read any books in The Haunting Danielle series by Bobbi Holmes, you may want to give it a try! There are over 30 books in the series and I have absolutely loved all of them!👻
Another GREAT video !!! I am super glad i found your channel. I absolutely love paranormal cozy mysteries. I am a huge fantasy book reader so being able to have some of those characters meets mysteries is definitely a plus for me. Thanks for the recommendations.
I LOVE Heather Blake! I am loving that series. She has another one about a potion shop...I may have all those as well (but not read yet)...LOL I also have that Secondhand Spirits and I could not get into it. I think I prefer more whimsical cozy.
I’m reading the first book in a series of Supernatural Speakeasy Cozy Mysteries by Lily Harper Hart, and now you’re giving me a few more to check out. Thanks!
As I am not a great fan of paranormal I still enjoy them especially if they are laced with humor, one of the best is Pamela DuMond's Annie Graceland series and Tamara Berry's Eleanor Wilde series, the first in the series Seances are for Suckers is one of the best books I have ever read, sooo fun.
I’ve found a fun Halloween themed cozy series on kindle unlimited. There are 16 books and I’m currently on book 5. The series is Pumpkin Hollow mystery series by Kathleen Suzette, the series takes place in Pumpkin Hollow a tourist town that celebrates Halloween all year long! They are fun quick reads and I enjoy the town and characters.
Another fantastic video!!! Thank you for my ever growing TBR! I have It Takes a Witch, and If Walls Could Talk already on it, as well as Crime and Poetry.
Your video was recommended under another booktuber (Peter likes books - Peter Monn), and I clicked out of curiosity... and I’m so glad I did! You have the BEST personality!
This is my third video from you and I agree with your recommendations. Both of Heather Blake’s series wish craft and potion one are great Victoria Laurie does another fun paranormal series that if I remember correctly there is a cross over with the ghost hunter. The psychic eye series follows Abby who has always been psychic and has built a business around it. If you want to try a fun different series try clean sweep by Ilona Andrews. It may not quite fall into cozy but I love that series. The main character is an Inn keeper. Earth is a stop over for people from different worlds. The authors use traditional vampires and wear wolfs and gives them a whole new history and origin
I just found your channel while looking for some videos to get some recommendations for cozy mysteries (as I’ve always wanted to read some but didn’t know where to start) and now I’ve binged your cozy up to videos haha I just wanted to ask if you have any recommendations for cozies centered around baking??
Yay! Glad you found some recommendations! There are SO many baking cozies! Top 3 popular ones that come to mind are: Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swenson series, Ellery Adams' Charmed Pie Shoppe Mysteries, and (my favorite) Ellie Alexander's Bakeshop Mysteries.
I enjoyed the video. I haven’t read any of the series you featured. I have started The Charmed Pie Shop Mystery series, which does feature a with and a coven type group of characters. I’ve also started The Magical BakeryMystery series, which also has some elements of magic. Right now I am reading some fall/autumn cozies for all of the fall/Halloween vibes 😊🍂🍁🎃
I remember enjoying the Simon series that begins with Posted to Death. I would also recommend the Amanda Lee series, Witches of the Midwest. She has a sense of humor I really appreciate. (They are available on Kindle.) Book 17 comes out in January.
I'm reading a different Heather Blake cozy mystery right now called A Potion to Die For! I came across this video while looking for reviews of her books :)
@@IntentionallyBookish I'm loving it so far. Unfortunately, I haven't finished it yet due to work, but I'm almost there. Definitely going to read the next in the series :)
FYI Victoria Laurie, who is a delightful person to speak with, has another series with a psychic heroine. Definitely cozy. And, by the way, the author is a psychic.
I will definitely try the Wishcraft mysteries, I have seen a few of the series at the library and have always said that I will get to it. Now is the time!! However, I hate series that go on and on. There have been a few series like Hannah Swenson mysteries by Joanna Fluke and the Tea shop mysteries by Laura Childs, I have had to stop because after the like 10th book, it just seems to get repetitive, and I find that I start not liking the characters...its weird I know. However, liked the video :)
LOL I'm the total opposite and I love long series. But I totally see your point! The Wishcraft one is long, but I don't think it's more than 10 books. So you don't have to worry about it dragging on!
I didn’t even know there was such a thing as paranormal cozies! Also, did you mean you had IRL experience with witches or just that you trend to read those more than ghost stories? Because, that’s cool.
I know small towns are a cozy "thing". But, I really enjoy cozies that aren't set in small towns. Cozies are about relationships. And you can have relationships in a variety of places. Definitely gonna check out some of the series.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I love cozies , and especially the paranormal cozies
You’re welcome!
I loved watching shows like The Good Witch and Ghost Whisperer so these books sound perfect for me! Thanks for sharing ~Laura
Thanks, Laura! I hope you got some recommendations you enjoy :)

Ah yes! I can't remember if I read the Potion Shop one but she's an excellent cozy author!
The Wishcraft and Witchcraft series are both really intriguing to me! And the covers are so darn cute :)
I know! I love the covers so much!
