today's classroom setup wasn't super eventful, but I got a few things done that I was super happy about!

If you like the pink, that’s what matters. Honestly I’ve found over the past five years that kids don’t really care. You have to spend SO much time in your room you want to make sure that you like the way it looks. Plus I think the pink is cute 💕
Also pink is a calming color. I like to have a calming room and use my activities to build enthusiasm rather than have an over stimulating room.
all i know is that LIGHT PINK is a realllllly good color, that’s what my classroom color is gonna be lol
I agree I mean I’m not a teacher I’m a student in 5th no one cares about the classroom do what makes u happy
My moms a 2nd year fourth grade teacher and I showed her this video and she said to not stress over what you think your students will love and focus more on what you love. Good Luck!
I love that you are willing to change the theme/vibe of the room just for your students. That is so nice but I love all the different shades of pink. :)
I personally love the pink(absolutely love the color mauve in your writing area). I have tons of blush pink(favorite color) but I'm also doing mint green and eucalyptus theme. I think the students will love the room because its you(and you want it to be warm and welcoming). They will feel your love for them and that is what matters. Hope that helps. Alicia from CT

I like how you added some blue and green into your let’s talk board! I don’t think it’s too much pink, but you could alway include some more blue, greens and creams into your new stuff that you make
I really think the calendar colors are very cute! So maybe incorporate some of those colors throughout the rest of the room? A few blues or greens?

I absolutely love your classroom. Tip about the mess up on the broad. That is a lesson your children that we are not all prefect. Your classroom reflects who you are. Your kids will love it.
I would suggest the student station be on a book shelf between the other two book shelf’s. You can do different rows on the shelf for the collection of things. Extras of Pencils, color pencils, crayons, etc on one row. One row of turn in stuff. One row of Sanitizer and sanitizer wipes. You can add other things students need access to here.
Do the colors/theme that YOU love. It’s important to keep the kids in mind but as a teacher, you’ve got to be motivated and happy in your room. Stick with your heart !
I LOVE the pink! YOU will be spending so much time in that room and it needs to feel cozy and comfortable to you.

When I taught 4th it was helpful to organize by genre, BUT also have the series together. I have a bin for magic treehouse/babysitters club/ captain under pants etc. The ones I have a lot of mainly. Organizing by genre is a good practical way for them to apply the knowledge you teach them!!

Do what u want and makes u happy. I'm a homeschooler but my school supplies/area are rainbow. If I was a real teacher I'd use it in my classroom.
my teachers would make us get a journal book and write how our day is going, what we are thankful for that day, something exciting that happened, etc. i think that would be good for your students since it’s writing and throughout the year you could do journal checks to see how their writing has improved

since you are teaching genre this year, you should do it as a class to sort them by genre.
I don’t think it is too much pink, I like it. You do what makes you happy, don’t worry about anyone else.
It's always hard to picture how all classroom procedures will run but since you have access to your classroom, run through all your procedures as if you are the student. Go through the classroom and write down all the things you expect the students to know. When you have your list, write down all the steps for completing EACH procedure. Check the room to make sure your classroom accommodates all your procedures.
You can also create a Google slide for each of them so that the students can have a visual and you can always add a picture for extra support! You can use the slides for when you have to teach and model them.

Student station is great! It gives the kids a hub to go to :) I don't think you have too much pink but I think the other colors you are starting to add will bring it all together

I would sort the books by genre! I sorted books by genre for 3rd graders! They loved talking about how they tried new things!
I’m a 5 year ELA teacher. The best advice o can give you on organizing your library is to not organize it by any category, don’t even put them in bins. That is the best choice I ever made . Kids will never put them back, it will hardly look organized.Just put them on the shelves like at a real library.

theres nothing wrong with pink, its a good lesson to teach the boys, if they say that its too girly or whatever, to say that color doesnt have gender. i really doubt any kids would care. theyre calming colors

My school has smaller classrooms and ugly colors on the walls and floors and the teachers don’t care at all about how the classroom looks the teachers just makes sure it’s clean so it’s super nice seeing a teacher actually care about how aesthetic the room looks I’m kinda jealous of the students (btw 5th grade student here)
On the rainbow box it looks like you need to move binder clips and binder rings down one and move up the paper clips in that row 2 places to line up the rainbow.
Personally, I like the pink! I believe your classroom should represent you because at the end of the day the students want to know you, their teacher, no matter the color of the room!💓
With your library I'm thinking you could do 4 green bins on the middle shelf on both bookshelves and the rest put the black bins but that is just how I'm thinking do whatever you want to do though!💛😁

I would think you would want your students to feel as comfortable as you do, it is where they spend much of their day as well. The color blue of your t-shirt would make a great accent color with the pink. It’s in your rainbow. Labels.
Girl honestly I don’t matter what other people think if you think pink is cute then so be it pink is such a cute color and to be honest I wish I had pink in my classroom and if you want you can do other colors but like I said pink is a cute color
My library is organized by genre, but I do have a few series bins for series I have a lot of.

Pink is an amazing color you should keep them if you like that color
My son wears pink all the time color is so neutral in this generation I don’t think you have to worry about a thing as long as your classroom is happy and inviting it’s all that matters!!
I highly suggest to organize your library by authors last name alphabetically! Each bin can be A-E, F-J, etc… hope this helps! :)

Your room is looking great! If you want to make the letters on your banners stay apart and stay put - put a piece of tape on the back of each one to hold it in place on the string.

If you put a fabric over your lights it may help with the glare on the paper’s not sure though

Pocketful of Primary has an amazing, bestselling classroom library TPT product. It has options for labeling by guided reading level, series, and genre. I have a shelf of picture books by guided reading level. The rest of my books are by genre and series.
Also, don't worry about not having an extensive classroom library. They will use yours, but the kids will also have the school library from which to check out books!

I think that the student station would look good in between the book selfs in the back. Then you could hang lights like the picture.

You should find a table that fits between the bookshelf’s and have that as your student section so the table doesn’t stick out in the room

If people think your room is pink, they need to watch some other classroom set ups! There are classrooms that are decorated with more pink accents than this. Your room looks great - set up and color choices!
Hi I don’t know if your going to see this but I’m a student going to 6th my 4th grade teacher was amazing and nice and a lot of my peers we’re very comfortable with her and her class was welcoming but some thing she did is have one hand shake with my class each morning that a student made up and she had Mrs.potatoe and Mr.potatoe head and if we behaved very well she would put a peace on the potatoes and she also had these things that gave vaporized air and smelled nice and very calming hoped this helped

There is nothing wrong with the pink. I did hot pink and zebra for a couple years the no one cares at all and my students are very vocal 😆

i will have 3 classes of 20 students!
10+year teacher...mostly in 4th grade here....so coming from a guy that is put off by pink, I don't think you have too much pink. Whatever you post on that board will tone it down, assuming you don't do the same color on top of the same color...lol.
