Those speakers sound sick! I was listening to your review through my car speakers and it sounded super crisp and thumpy. You did a great job picking up the sound. I would get these but I already have 2 tower speakers, a 10 inch sub and a Yamaha receiver, but these look so cool!

Good fairly thorough job, what I would like to see is this: If you can pull one of the subs out of the box, and check the ohms, then get online and find an upgraded ten inch sub with a pulp or (just anything more rigid) with a decent sensitivity rating and see if you can pump more bass out of these towers

Shouldn't floor speakers be kept several feet apart? You have them too close together which is distorting the sound and if you kept them like that then that could damage them over time.

Awesome review. I still have floor speakers I bought out of a van, back in 2001. They still sound awesome, but was checking if anything better in the year 2024 for $350 or less. I'm so surprised to find they have mostly been replaced by "sound bars", sound bards aren't bad...but nothing even close to my old speakers ($150). Don't think people are into sound anymore or more people rent in apartments and just can't have anything like this?

Your 2001 speakers probably sound better, assuming yours has a big cone 12 inch cone with little ones. Wish they made floor speakers like that but they only make small coned ones because they know you’ll have a sub too

Paper is the best material for “sound quality”..... yes it is not durable at all, reason companies started “treating” the paper. Treated paper cones can still have the sound quality yet also be more durable than just non treated paper cones. A lot of manufacturers went with polypropylene, or the like. I am not a fan of foam surrounds either. Rubber (or similar) surrounds or a speaker isn’t worth anything. The foam will always deteriorate pretty fast making them not very durable.
Speaker box material is MDF (Medium Density Fiber-board), not MFD.
The heat sinks getting hot just means they are doing their job.

If you watch the EMF Audio guy and EXOcontralto do a videos on there defective subs that burn up the the did one on how they don't but cheated on there tests makes em seem dishonest that's bad for long term success. EMF Audio did a rebuttal showing how the fudged there results and showed how his did in triple the time at higher wattage what they said couldn't be done. They seem sleazy

You sound like Ray Romano's cousin Gerard. Lol
But, yo, seriously, maybe if you didn't max the Bass out and pump up the Volume to 90% your speakers wouldn't have quit working.
They're only speakers, and if you abuse them, you can't expect them to endure that abuse without damage.
I have the Rockville 5.1 Surround Sound and I just ordered these yesterday. The first 5.1 unit did arrive defective, but the replacement unit was fine. I had to out of pocket the cost for the replacement because they wouldn't send one until I shipped the defective unit back and I didn't want to be without sound for our TV until then. Still currently waiting for the refund to come through. As of 2 days ago they said they haven't received the unit back yet. We mailed it on the 3rd of August.
Anyway, I'm going to take my chances with this system, but I'm not going to full out abuse the crap out of them. Can't expect equipment to last if you abuse it.

    • @michaeldavis3913
      @michaeldavis3913 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@pooop813 They're outward. They don't face each other. You can turn them to face each other if you wanted though.
This was a solid investment. It really was. Every now and then the slave speaker will get weird and be a lower volume than the main speaker. But if you flip the switch in the back for a second and turn them back on it goes back to normal volume levels. This fucks with me sometimes because I can hear the difference when it's not pushing as much sound as it should be. Idk if it's just a random thing or just my set of speakers. But it happens sometimes. Not very often though. I thought it was the cord itself so I had to order another one because my kids fucked the first one up.
But overall these speakers are pretty legit. Especially for $239, at least that's what I paid for them. And they're fairly loud. I was playing COD the other day and our downstairs neighbor came up to bitch about the explosions lol 🤣 I guess they were rattling her walls. The bass wasn't even on either. Haha these fuckers bang.

@@pooop813 And like I said, as long as you take care of them and don't purposely abuse them, they'll last you quite some time.
I've had my fair share of speakers, and these really aren't bad at all.
I know they're a cheapo brand and whatever but they're pretty decent for the price.
The only thing I actually dislike about them is that the Subs are paper cones. I wish they were the PolyPropylene or whatever the face speakers are made of.
But I don't regret buying them at all.

    U can modify it
    Install better quality woofers.
Hell I rather buy the plate amplifier and cabinet. Then install my own kind of woofers

If you can't go somewhere and hear it don't buy it. Pay attention to brands that have been around for decades.

hey man!! which subs? You mean you actually heard them at that low of a frequency? or you just saw the test say 2hz? Humans can only hear from 20-20,000 HZ, I just checked on google. Learned something new from your comment, lol.
