Last time I was there, which has been 3 times since my dad died on the island in 1990, one of my childhood friends slept on his couch and let me have his master bedroom. I gave him $400 for the week I was there, but he spent it on me, at least with the ganja he gave me that he has grown since the 1980s. I'm not sure where that particular "The Back Yard" is on STJ, but during the 1980s my father owned the St. John Pub that was in the old one story shack that was at the end of the dock, we used to go over on Saturdays from STT and have lunch at the old "The Back Yard". It was a dingy sailor/handyman bar/restaurant with a couple entrances that led to a partially covered inner court with a second floor walkway with tables on it around the edges and lots of bushes and trees, that we always got prompt like-family service at.
Do you realize we are still in a pandemic???? And some of us need more content to watch....keep them coming plz!!!! You guys are way better than Netflix!
I like seeing fellow Americans visit the territories to see for themselves how America stretches far beyond the east and west coast of the lower 48. They can seem like foreign countries, so a trip there can become an educational one of how each became a part of America. Hope you get to visit them all!
I lived on st john for two years before i moved back to washington state. I really miss the place and this video just reminded me to never take anything for granted, and all of the good memories I had there.
New sub....I love that you travel with your fur baby, when you can!!!!! You both are adorable and make me want to travel to all these places! Keep up the great work!!!!!! Love from chilly Maine XOXO
Y'all are so beautiful plus very informative...thanks for the thoroughness and also for the love...you not only show us detailed oriented footage, but also footage of a great modern marriage....love y'all!
Love how accurate you made getting on the car ferry, complete chaos, 100% terrifying haha. I lived there for 10 years and worked at Skinnys, my old hula hoops are in the background of your Skinnys scene. Good stuff :)
This was awesome, I went to St. Thomas last year about 2 weeks after you all left. On our trip to St. John to snorkel it rained on and off all day. But it was still warm and it would only rain for 10 minutes and stop. Great day with beautiful bright yellow sea turtles. Magnificent place
We love you videos. Wife and I found them as we look into a trip to St. Croix and enjoy how you are real about travel. Love your humor and realistic approach.
Awesome video! It's so fun watching your videos! Hansen Bay reminded me of some of the beautiful beaches in Hawaii that I made a few vlogs on too. Love the turtle shots! Excited to see more
My husband and I love your videos!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ one small comment... could you please get a seat belt for pepper when she is in the scooters or even in the cars or RV.... you all are making me nervous 😬 Pepper is so sweet🐶
I'm very picky as whose Channel to follow... after watching your USVI and Maui videos, I found myself in love with your journeys!! You 2 are a beautiful 👫 It's truly something special you can find a playmate in each other! 😍😍 I love the energy coming out of your videos and your journeys! Don't ever stop adventuring together!!! 💖 Today I subscribed to your channel AND ordered the typical blue backpack!! Can't wait to get it!! 😍 Ohhh about the comments on the age of the visitors, we observed the same, that we were the youngest on the island 🏝, with young kids in Jan when we visited 😀😄. Kids loved the wild donkeys on St John😍 our fav beach ⛱ in St John was Maho!
Randomly ran into your video and now fans! Thanks for sharing your candid travel videos with your baby, we'll be following you from now on!! Buena suerte siempre!!!
I appreciate the new behind the scenes. Good and bad. I’m at home come complain lol. It’s nice to hear that even perfection ( what likes perfect and amazing) is not always perfect. Thanks you guys!
Tim & Fin: It’s so crazy because I randomly watched Fin’s video for Mexico City before traveling there last month (thank you for all the recommendations!! - we tried many) and now I’m headed to USVI and I randomly found this video! Haha y’all are amazing!
I busted out laughing when I saw donkeys in the road when I visited St John..the St.John safari tour bus driver stopped as the donkeys happily crossed the road. I could never forget my fabulous St.John taxi tour..I've eaten in some nice resturants there too
Ive seen Big hermit crab race in st croix and protestant cay..ha!.. yes!.. the crabs wear a number...a whole heap of cheering, funny as heck!.. love from St.Croix
My wife and I were there in late February and stayed at The Hills in a nice Airbnb. We rented the owners Hummer, which was the one parked right outside your window 😆. Hansen beach was one of our favorites and “The Back Yard” at Skinny Legs restaurant was also great! We are now binge watching all your videos 😄
The best place ever on St. John's was Caneel Bay Resort. Sadly destroyed by a hurricane it has yet to and may never recover and be a resort again. Taking a charter boat over to BVI and the Soggy Dollar Bar will get you a Pain Killer from where they all started. St. John's was my favorite Caribbean vacation ever.
Absulayely Winderful and Breathtaking Vlog love it asusual always the best 😍🥰 I ll must do watch full video after get home, sound like very interesting
Hey guys, Tampa here, and traveling to the Eastern Caribbean next March for a "Island Hopping Cruise". out of SJU. Six islands in a week, so I will be literally hopping around. St. Croix is one, and the only island I have not traveled to is St. Kitts. Your videos are fun and helpful, accommodations and all the surroundings. Keep up your great videos and stay safe. I am vaccinated, and just rec'd my booster today. I'm on my way to a really fun packed trip. See you in your next video. Tampa
This video was great. My husband and I are going in May. Can't wait to get there and explore the Island. This will be our first time there. Liked seeing the many things that you did.
Was just there two weeks ago. Stayed in St. Thomas, but took the ferry over to St. John and went to Cinnamon Bay. Had wayyyyyy to many painkillers while I was out there haha. Snorkeling was awesome too. Saw Sea turtles, stingrays, and more. Can't wait to go back!
I didn't know about the national park there. Looks beautiful! My kids wanted to make sure I told you their favorite part of your videos is of course Pepper. 😍
We used to live in an old sugar mill like that on the way to Galion above Soufriere in Dominica. My dad fixed it up and built a huge second floor loft and it was so lovely. Always cool and breezy inside. And we had donkeys: John Coltrane, Diana Washington, Gil Evans, and Lady Day. John Coltraine was a terrible biter! There were active fumeroles along the road and our lime estate was actually inside the crater of the third volcano!
If you’ve never been before. I highly recommend. Been there a lot of times and is remarkable in its beauty and absolute amazing activities and scenery!
Love your video! Been on most of the Carib. Islands on land vacations, STT & STJ probably 15 times; You could plant me on STJ, it's my favorite. Love that you can always find a beach if the conditions on the North Shore are poor, just head east!
It is great that St. John has recovered after the devastation of hurricane Maria. Lime in the coconut is the best! Try hiking to Solomon and Honeymoon beaches.
Loving this video and your “new” way of sharing all of the helpful details of your trip, not to mention super funny parts!!! Please don’t change a thing we love you guys! The husband and I are going to Saint Croix next month because of you! Cottages at the Sea here we come! ( I let them know we booked bc of y’all 😉) Thank you 💁🏼♀️💕
Wow..the sea turtles babies crawl right up in the sand in front of cottages..I have picked them up and return them to the sea..you are going to have a fantastic time omg! All the street lamps are red at night to keep the babies from coming toward the land..its will be fantastic vlogging!
So glad I found this video series! We are going in May. We just saw where BVI is opening Apr 15th as long as you have a vaccine. We already got ours! Can't wait to see Virgin Gordo Baths.
I was there probably a week or so before you. Sailed to Reef Bay. Sailing around St John better than driving for sure. Great video of my favorite place.
Love love this video! New sub from me! We are headed to St John 🏝 in April (11 of us renting a place on Klein Bay). That mountain ⛰ hike you two did before leaving is definitely in our plans! Where was it? Can’t wait to watch more of your videos 😊 Ps - I love love love your hat Fin - brand?
We used to collect the hermit crabs, paint their backs with different dots of colors and make a race track with books. My dad made a spinner and we'd have races with them and bet on who would win, usually with marshmellows! So fun! but let them go afterward and don't try to keep them overnight in a jar. They are cannibals and eat each other up. Only one will be left by morning, standing on the grizzly remains of the night and a lot of empty shells! We didn't know.
Thank you for taking me to a place I will never get to go to..it was amazing 😁.. except for the spider..the water was beautiful and the sea life also..
I can't begin to know what you were into before this video. I have followed your journey since the RV and found you very professional and informative....... Till now!!! You sounded like you had way to many (Island Specials) before doing this video. Sorry, i felt i had to say something. I was looking forward to this video but had a hard time staying with it.
St Francis Bay on St. John is my favorite non commercial beach . It's a great place to go when you visit as long as you can handle a few wild donkeys. 😁
I really dont understand why ppl dont really go to francis bay as much, is always very empty... in my opinion is the most beautiful beach in st john... is so big with a beautiful view and the snorkel there is so nice
Next time you need to hop across to the BVI!! So much more beautiful and unspoiled - especially Anegada, Virgin Gorda and Jost van Dyke. I do love St. John though!
Enjoyed the video. I wish we had watched before we went to st john or we would have hit Hansen beach. We went to Trunk bay want got the last parking spot. We also took the car barge. It was packed like sardines both ways. The beaches on St John are extremely crowded right now and will probably be like that until the pandemic is over. The beaches on St Thomas are not nearly as crowded right now.
I was supposed to go last summer... but was canceled bc of covid :(( we are planning to go back sometime this june and this video was great. it makes me very excited to go in june! keep up the great content :))
Reef Hike-good idea to bring a walking stick. Going down is much easier than hiking up. I wouldn't do it if you have bad knees or any other structural problem.
My sister owns a villa on St. John, so we go there two times a year. I know you mentioned snake on Reef Bay Trail! Just so people know, there are no snakes on St. John! Hurray! The Mongoose on island keep them at bay! If you do reef bay trail, go on over the mountain to Lameshur bay beach! Very few people usually! Take lots of water! Can be a hot hike! Start early.
this comment made me turn off the video. It's stupid. They observed people over 50 there because we're in a pandemic and the people they're running into there are probably there for the winter/live there full time. Most of us are staying home and can't visit St john right now. I've been going since my 20s and it's a lot of people in their 30s (my age group).
If y’all ever go back, hike rams head at salt pond. The most beautiful view on the island. Btw, reef bay was one of the hardest hikes I’ve ever been on.
Excellent virtual getaway, as I sit here in the Sierra foothills with snow on the ground (whilst healing a popped achilles :( I needed some beach time ;o) Hey..youz guys should come to check out this area later in the year...we'll tour you around...Grass Valley / Nevada City
You missed the most beautiful beaches. Plus boating to Peter Island for lunch or JostVanDyk for drinks . Lots of young people at Cinnamon Bay and Mahoe Bay in st john

Love love love your videos! So beautiful! Love that you take Pepper every where. Can you tell me what sling you have Pepper in on this video? Please & Thank you!
Did you guys have any issues driving without 4wd? Many of the villas recommend/require, but the rental companies are sold out when I am going. Loved the video, btw.
you need to go to REI and get a sit pad to keep in your day pack. It comes in handy for cold damp rocks in Mammoth cave, fussy babies who don't like to sit on them, and little bitty doggies who want a place to lie down too.
