I'll be the first to say it: the clothing design in this movie is unironically good. Better than the live action Winx Club. It made me love the movie so much when it came out.

I was really disappointed with the fact they didn't have wings and the attitude "Hey we're just like other angsty, horny, irresponsible teenagers!" What, seriously? That's not even remotely what the animated series was about. Did the same thing with Jem and the Holograms...another angsty, horny, predictable teen movie which made the actual animated series look oh I don't know x1,000,000 worth another watch. Sighs and steps off of her soapbox...

I felt a little sour when this movie came out because the concept was basically the same as the show Ever After High, and I’m pretty sure Descendants became so popular that they ended up cancelling Ever After High 😭 I could be wrong, but the timing seems a little more then coincidental. TH-camr Negative Legend actually made a video talking about it 😁
Yeah I used to be obsessed with both franchises, but now that I’m older, I personally think Ever After High was so much better than Descendants. I’m lowkey still bitter that EAH ended so abruptly, there could’ve been a lot more possibilities within the story.

I think there’s a movie called Tourist Trap that’s about haunted mannequins on an abandoned island that no one is supposed to be on after dark (but of course the main protagonists do). I’m not sure if it’s out yet or not though.

If anything is better than Descendants, it's Winx Club. Winx Club and the Descendants movies are my two number one favourite things in the world, and I'm 15, nearly 16, so... you know, call me whatever you want, but I don't really care. (Although Seasons 7 and 8 are Dumpster Fires, and I straight-up refuse to sit through them ever again! And, I do actually really like Fate: The Winx Saga.)

The plotline to Ever After High is actually good compared to these movies. They just seem like they were made for a really young audience so the writers put no effort here, whereas in EAH, the writers still tried despite it being a cartoon. I miss EAH.

This is giving me flashbacks to when my parents banned me and my older sister singing the "I'm rotten to the core" song.
Context: I live in a Christian household, so my parents set back on a lot of things. I'm 12 so I was like 7 and my sister was probably around eleven when this movie came out. My mom had searched up the meaning of the song and it had said that it was about being wicked, evil, and rotten, so she got upset with the fact we were singing the song all the time.
Ok, interesting... I don't see what's so bad about you singing a song that you love, but, if your parents want it, that's cool, I guess.

I was 12 around the time Descendants came out. I stopped my little sisters from watching. I said it didn't sound nice for kids to sing and I was very vocal about finding the movie stupid. I mean I didn't watch the movie properly and just saw it as Highschool Musical with crappy cosplays, so I didn't know the context for the song. I still maintained the song was stupid though.
The only Descendants song I liked was "What's My Name", and that has gotten really uncomfortable for me now I'm older.

@@xbookwormqueenx Ever After High is about characters from fairytales, kids (the biggest two being the Evil Queen’s daughter and Snow White’s daughter) Descendants is literally the same thing. The only difference being that in Ever After High they’re being trained to repeat their parents fairy tale but the mc doesn’t want to conform to it just like Mal doesn’t want to be villain like her parent. It’s essentially the same

When I first found your channel ages ago..I thought Jo was the crazy one and Aaron is keeping his crazy from getting out in the world... Now I know Jo has been the one protecting us this whole time 😂
Whenever I watch something with someone I know is deceased, I always feel sad the whole time. Like, I wanted to watch my first Kdramas again but I couldn't finish To The Beautiful You again because I kept feeling sad about Sulli. And I love Jonghyun's music but I can't listen to it because of the same reason. That's just some examples. I used to watch Descendents a lot but I haven't seen it once since Cameron Boyce died and I've had the same problem watching this video because of the movie. As soon as he came on screen I just felt this like, wave of sadness. I haven't even watched Jessii since he died and I usually like watching Disney channel shows and movies that I liked as a kid.
Same everytime he comes on screen I can't enjoy it anymore especially since he was one of my favorite actors 😔
Somehow the jokes that don't land are funnier than those that do. I love these guys.

by the time this movie came out i grew out of disney channel and never watched it, and the franchise in general leaves a sour impression on me because i was an ever after high stan...
while i never grew up watching these, i stand by the fact that rotten to the core is probably the best song from anything on disney channel ever. queen of mean is also great. even if i have no nostalgia attached to descendants in general the music hits hard in a good way.

I cannot describe how angry this movie makes me. The king and queen literally left these children with murders. The literally sentenced these children to be abused and murdered by their own parents because they didn't think that ~*children*~ were worth saving because of their parents. The way Auradon turns a blind eye to what *realistically* goes on on the Isle is absolutely disgusting and I just fucking can't with this series. Disney is not the people who should have picked up this series. It should have gone to one of the companies they own (because they own everything now) that are allowed to make nitty-gritty movies so they could have dived into how legitimately horrible the Isle was for the kids.
Descendants just makes me so fucking angry and Disney makes it worse.
