As someone who has to be gluten free, I wish places would stop lumping gluten free and dairy free and sometimes even vegan all together in the same foods. Like just because my body can’t tolerate gluten doesn’t mean I don’t want meat and cheese 😭
I’m so with you! A lot of GF things are also dairy free, and I always get a little disappointed. I don’t mind some vegan cheese every now and then, but not all the time. I’m in the UK, so things are probably a little different. I’m not supposed to eat meat due to chemo, so it’s really hard to find something vegetarian and GF!
omgg I'm vegan and I feel the exact same way!! I hate how often the only vegan option(s) are also gluten free bc I hate gf bread/pasta etc. and it's also usually much worse from a nutritional standpoint + it makes things more expensive 😭
Ikr like I already have to be deprived by my condition I don't wanna be deprived by more things. Gimme the dairy and the meat. 😭

how to you know if some is gluten free? they will tell you within a few minutes of meeting them. everyone is oh so very special these days.

@@Silenceeeeee True, but not from the hot bar and especially not from Erewhon though. While i think that some items like the bone broth from the previous video are priced fairly, the profit margin on the hot dishes looks insane, especially on the dishes that don't contain meat. Erewhons would be priced similarly to whole foods if it wasn't for the celebrity endorsement because i highly doubt that there is a quality difference.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video for the honest reviews! I had heard about the hot bar salmon from coworkers and am shocked that they would charge $40/lb when you can buy nice salmon from whole foods for $13-20/lb and easily cook it at home. That pot pie looks amazing and would definitely try! Do they have a dessert bar? Would love a video reviewing that next!
So… Sweet Potato, Peanut Butter and Bone Broth seem to be the only “worth it” things. That makes it way more reasonable. lol Even the smoothies seem to be hit or miss. Really fun video!

Mulligatawny Soup is eaten in the south region of India specifically in Tamilnadu and in Sri Lanka. It's a chicken and lentil soup which tastes delicious

Not surprised by the Japanese Sweet Potato. Even just boiling that and just add a knob of butter and it’s divine. The price for that single roasted sweet potato cut in half is highway robbery.
Or frozen with almond butter.🤤
Exactly. You can go to a Korean grocery store and get a similar roasted sweet potato for a fraction of that price

Mulligatawny is a south Indian soup and it's supposed to be watery! sometimes people eat it with rice or add meat in it
If there were an erewhon where I lived I would go in once and probably only sample a few foods lol
That is a TON of food you guys chomped on...sadly most of it was meh considering the place/price. But yeah, I think I'd go for that chicken pot pie, too. I'm surprised you never heard of or had mulligatawny soup before...I knew it from the 80s when I worked at a French bakery (they sold all kinds of food there, not just French, LOL). Wasn't my favorite and I never really heard much about it but seems like this past year I've started to see a bit more of it. It's not as good as most soups (I'd take my lentil soup over it any day or a good tomato soup).
My stomach would be like girl why you being so disrespectful with all these food samples😁😂... some of these items look great but a lot of this stuff is ridiculously overpriced. Thanks for this hot bar review🙂

Isn't Erewhon Nowhere spelled backwards. I have a Whole Foods near me and people rant and rave about the hot food bar. I bought several items recently to share with a friend. It was so expensive and terrible. I feel that anytime food is kept warm and not made fresh will not be good. Thanks for a great video.

In the South, we have saying: "never trust the rich with your BBQ". Sounds like the same thing applies to Korean BBQ as well. It's such a down-home, comfort unpretentious cuisine that it basically becomes less effective the more you try to "fancy" it up. You can't make "fancy BBQ"; really good BBQ is made by the people for the people, meant to be eaten messily and noisily :)

I bought the chicken noodle in a jar and honestly thought it was really good. the chicken tasted clean and didn't gross me out like other supermarket chicken noodles (Whole foods for example) but maybe cause i bought it in a jar prepackaged and cold? idk might just be sick of other supermarket hot bar chicken noodle soups (and im tired and don't wanna cook all day haha)
But yeah....its a very expensive store when it doesn't need to be...for a fun treat ok but for weekly shopping....yeah no

Love your Erewhon episodes! When I ate there almost every day (years ago), they had spaghetti squash with marinara that was INSANELY good.
well, what you are calling buffalo cauliflower, is called gobi manchurian in India. it's a popular street food item. I ate it all the time growing up. Glad to see Americans getting a taste for it now. It's a really addictive food.

There is one on my way home in Calabasas! I never thought of making a stop to get something from there because of price since price doesn't reflect quality a lot of times. After watching, I will stop to get a slice of pizza, bone broth and peanut butter. I really enjoyed these episodes. Enjoyable and informative!

I’d love to see more budget friendly videos and how to spend less
As something of a smoothie connoisseur, $17 for a smoothie is already pretty outrageous to me. My personal favourite are the ones from Real Fruit Bubble Tea and even their larges tend to cap off at around $9-$10 a pop and those are still a bit on the expensive side, but with RFBT, you are legit paying for quality ingredients and delicious flavour, I've hardly had one that was a flop outside of the durian one or maybe when mangoes aren't in season, but to hear that the $17 smoothie basically just tastes like a basic fast food one is insulting.
You two just saved me $275.00. I wanted to go in and try a little of everything. Now I don't.
The turkey meatballs are really good though! Definitely worth trying
