Very informative video. I look forward to the long-term review as I also have a 6.7 Cummins with the CCV gutted filter delete. It causes a slight oil film on the head and surrounding areas.

This is a great modification to do when you first get your truck. Lol. So many people driving around that dont even know that filter is there and turbos full of oil and filter material 😂thanks ram and government for trying to ruin our cummins engine.

Whenever I look at the filter media on these ccv filters I imagine there’s a bunch of marshmallows in there 😂

On my 08 I left the filter in place and ran a piece of heater hose down to the frame. 40k miles with that setup and no issues. Change the filter twice a year. I tried the elbow and filter it made the cab stink.

I did the exact setup on my 2015 6.7 that had Zero leaks, I just took a 10 hour trip in the truck and when I got back I noticed my rear main seal is so bad I can’t drive the truck again until I replace it, was it the ccv delete. Idk. But it’s the only thing I changed before the trip.

I had the same thing happened to my 2007.5 so I switched back and the rear seal quite leaking so

I've been running the same setup (oem ccv filter and breather elbow and filter) on my 2011 6.7 for the last 90 000kms (the truck currently has 180 000kms) with no issues. Other than when it was first installed, I blew a fair bit of oil out of the breather while towing a heavy trailer down a steep grade with the engine brake on. I talked to the engine shop that did the he suggested changing the ccv filter just incase it was plugged since I could risk blowing the rear main seal. So I changed the filter and also added the elbow to the vent since the original K&N filter came with a straight hose. My thought was that with the elbow, any oil caught in the vent filter would drain back into the engine. Hope this helps someone

How's the mpgs compared to the 5.9 after the 6.7 weight reduction????

The 6.7 gets 18s unloaded highway and the 5.9 gets 19s usually. The gap closes at higher speeds though. The 6.7 seems to like higher cruising Rpm more and at 70+ mph it’s probably only half a mpg advantage for the 5.9.
