Here's some extra clarifications now that I've had more time to experiment with things: - The Castigo 44 is actually better than the 1911. The damage stat is misleading, and seems to either refer to just a base damage value independent of armor penetration, or your damage range. The Castigo seems to have much better penetration than the 1911, and one shots enemies pretty consistently. It also combos pretty well with the build, which I hadn't considered while recording. That poor reload / mag size doesn't matter when you get 3 bullets on return every headshot. - This base build works very well with Marksman Rifles. The DMR will function similarly to the Castigo, getting ammo on return every headshot. The Bolt action too, though I think its performance is a little lopsided. I would probably consider using it with just marksman skills... - Hostages are good. This was a build guide, but you should probably take hostages when you can. And KEEP them! Gaining medkits on trades isn't as good as you'd think, while the reduced aggressiveness of cops helps much more than you'd think. This also leads onto our next point. - Take human shields! If you need to cross a sightline on Overkill, or you're low on health, it might be a good idea to get through with a human shield. You won't take any damage unless an enemy interrupts you. With the kind of sustainability we have though, this shouldn't be a problem.
Honestly I usually get the doctor bag and I've been contemplating if it's even useful any more since armor mostly seems to help and im glad you confirmed it for me
It's so nice to finally be able to play this build properly after having to use a nerfed version in the beta. I think its funny how other than sharpshooter this is the exact build I ended up using naturally because it's just that good, I don't know if it's too good to the point that other builds are bad though.
If you use the skills that add ammo to your mag, it will actually count as a reload without an empty mag because it counts when the reload finishes. Therefore it's better to use the skill in enforcer that does the same but for non-empty reloads
Ammo Funnel/Replenish has to probably be the funniest and best way of Bulletstorm returning as a stupidly viable option Whilst not necessarily the strongest things on automatics, anything that hits hard with slower firerate or low magsize, just becomes an unlimited well of bullets if you use it right With that build and the r900 sniper (even though it says marksman, its just a sniper like cmon) on Road Rage, you can camp the scaffolding as your team moves the bags and basically cosplay as Ilija (without the oneshotting bulldozers shtick). Bottomless mags, highly surprising if you reload more than 5 times during a heist. Oh, and by the way, even if it may not seem like a good investment, putting the cutting shot skill on a sniper, investing in it actually allows you to 1shot headshot shields through their visors :) Happy heisting! Implying that the servers are back up by the time you read this, whoever does!
Sharpshooter is only useful on specific weapons to determine if you save a bullet on bodyshot or headshots, very often you don't. Some weapons have the same point with having Edge or not. The Sniper (Reinfield 900S) kills fully protected shields through the visor in one shot when you have I believe both, which is a very good breakpoint. The Castigo kills people in one hit to the head if you have Edge, but not the perk, I believe the AK needs both, and the SCAR needs just Edge as well. Some weapons it reduces bodyshots from 4 to 3 but for a lot of weapons, it doesn't matter. If you're hard-set on going a weapon, it might be worth it to look up if the perk helps anything, and save a perk point just to benefit anything from going off-meta (SCAR is by far the best weapon without a question, 30 rounds, full-auto for prefiring the occasional cloaker and the same performance as the marksmanship rifle, you can miss 2/3rd of your bullets and if you get a headshot you go infinite with ammo). Another thing - the sniper overkill weapon kills dozers in two shots to the CHEST specifically, due to the visor's health pool despite the sniper having near perfect armor pen and a damage pool to cut clean through multiple opponents, making it an amazing weapon to have since anything not a dozer can just be shot in the head with a good primary, meaning you're super capable of holding down an area and playing safe, as the only thing able to displace you forcefully is nader gas, avoided by having one hostage nearby, so having a Red Fox in your bunker is essential.
You might still want to get a medic bag as an asset or something, since naders and cloakers can seriously ruin your day, going clean through your armour.
if I am reading the tool tip correct, Plate up only works for the current armor that is about to break. So if enemies melt through the armor, it may not be worth it since you are not going to be able to get it back in high burst situations Also, You do need to still need 1 person to bring a medic bag. The medic's final skill gives you back downs but it's only from medic bags. not FAK's. Not having that medic bag can really hurt especially since if you are using the heaviest armor, you only have 2 downs before custody. Not to mention naders and cloakers can directly bypass your health and thus render your armor useless
Yeah that's exactly how it works, Plate up basically replenishes any armor chunks that are currently flashing red on your HUD. The stuff that'd regenerate naturally if you waited it out. This is good for the heaviest armors since they take forever to replenish. You still won't be able to just stand out in the open and regen all damage though, unfortunately.
@@naii_ Currently in my own build I am running the aced version of the plate skill. The moment an armor chunk breaks, you gain grit, it makes it much easier to control damage coming your way. Other than that, I mainly have been building around heist utility so I have invested into the infiltrator for their lockpicking/throwing knife skills
@@muchluck7981 yea im using that aced too. it pairs nicely with the enforcer (?) line where you get bonuses from having grit and edge. once you get both of them you can just keep them infinitely with the reloading refresh perk
One change i'd recommend is, instead of going with the heaviest 4 bar armor, go with the second heaviest 3 bar armor, since every use of the armor bag gives 2 bars with the tank tree perks. you'll have a total of 16 armor bars to burn through with a fully decked out armor bag with the heaviest armor, or 15 with the second heaviest armor, since 12 of those armor chunks are just from the armor bag uses so by giving up one bar (less than 8% of your total armor) you get faster speed (faster missions = less getting hit) and one more down state count (most people don't notice, but heavier armor causes you to get arrested after fewer downs)
playing by myself, I've noticed my bots will drop what I need between waves of cops. I carry a medic bag on me for emergencies and let the bots drop the armor for me since I don't go through armor a lot.
Hot take, the reinfield is hot trash. Ammo pick up is only 1, so unless you're 1 shotting your enemies, you will eventually have a net loss on ammo. If you're good at aiming at heads, most weapons have a net positive on ammo. Reinfield is net neutral on headshots and takes longer to secure kills even if you are hitting heads 100% of the time compared to say the Bison revolver or even the mosconi. Mosconi's 1-2 ammo pick up will usually leave you net positive at the end even if you miss a couple of headshots while it's only a matter of time before you run out of ammo with the reinfield. Worst part is reinfield can't even 1 shot heavy swat in the head even with all pellets+cutting edge+edge.
took me 4 hours to finish the no rest for the wicked heist stealth, i accidentally threw a grenade 6 times and fell of the roof once the rest of the times i got caught
With the skills in this build ammo isn't a problem. Just keep headshotting SWATs and get a few kills with your secondary when you dip out of the ammo positive territory.
Just make it a full hipfire build and it's unbeatable. I can't remember the exact names of the perks but infinite grit + edge aswell as the gunslinger skill for improved hipfire accuracy along with auto-pickup ammo and it goes into your mag is crazy. I got like 100 rounds out of my double barrel last road rage run. Always 1 taps and just switch to your pistol and reload to refresh grit and edge
Are they going to fix the control issue on console? On the ps5, the game is really clunky/sluggish and I had to just turn off the game due to not being smooth after messing with the settings and was left unsatisfactory
You mean the Car-4 with the carrying handle? It's a weapon preset you get for completing something in Payday 2, it's one of those linked rewards things. Check the Starbreeze Nebula site.
Nice video. Have you gotten a chance to try out the AK or Scar-H (forgot their ign names)? They seem to have the highest damage out of all the automatic weapons and good armor penetration .
I've tried the AK, it's pretty good. Takes out Heavies in 2 - 3 hits with skills. Since it has a 30 round magazine though, you'll end up with similar performance to the marksman rifle if you hit all your shots. Which is harder with automatic weapons.
@@naii_ Do you happen to know what the different weapon stats mean? Like what handling/stability/recoil do? Accuracy might have to with some sort of bloom effect when shooting at longer ranges but still not sure about it. There is a reload stat for some of the attachments but no reload bar on the actual weapon stats page.
I really like the AK as it hits pretty hard and its pretty good on ammo because of that. The Scar is also quite good imo. It feels like a hybrid between the one earlier DMR you get and the AK. It hits incredibly hard and I didnt even make a build around it. I was just using it with my shotgun build and hipfiring
Honestly i still cant enjoy the game until the progression system is changed. It pains me because the game itself is so good.
