I live in the West, and I am volunteering with one of the many charities which provide friendship and companionship to the elderly. The lady I see once a week actually given birth to 6 children, all of whom are still alive and live within a manageable distance. There are only two daughters that have regular contact with their mum, the remaining 4 I have never seen in the 3 years I have known this person.
In India, almost all WhatsApp rumours, which caused mob lynchings, are about child lifting. I can't understand why human trafficking and rapes are not seen to be as heinous as child abduction. Is it too much value conferred on having children?
